I received an email from this number. I did a google and couldnt come up with anything. The email was claiming that I needed to pay 1000 dollars on an old payday loan. The english was brokne on the document he sent. I called the number and some guy claiming to be named Patrick Marsh answered.I couldn't understand him, there was too much noise on his end of the phone. And I've never taken out a payday loan. The people even had my social security number on it and everything.

Please tell me the sloppy spelling is direct from the source and not faulty transcription. This simpleton's saber rattling is hilarious.

This is likely another fake payday loan collector calling from overseas. Their threats are empty and their rude tactics are illegal under federal law, the FDCPA. Do not argue with them, do not comply with their extortionist demands. Show them you know you have rights they are trampling.

Try demanding a mailing address or a full business name. If the caller fudges his answer or you cannot verify it, it's likely a PDL sham. Challenge their horse puckey threats; they often make rude remarks and hang up. As the bullies like to hassle people at workplaces, advise your employers and coworkers these calls are garbage.

The usual response to such a runaway debt collector stateside is to send a cease-comm letter and file suit. If you find a valid US address, please do so. Fierce consumer lawyers will leap at the chance to run such a case on contingency. However, being mostly outside U.S. borders and having no discernable addresses, these particular criminals rarely make it possible for individuals to punish them. Submit complaints to the FTC and attorneys general. The FBI is also taking comments on these hostile thugs. Pester anyone with proper authority until this fraud is investigated and smashed.

I received an exact email also from Attorney Patrick Marsh this morning.  Did have a debt long ago similar, but resolved long ago also.  In reading everyone elses post on this, it is funny how the beginning debt amount varies...but everybody owes $1000 now!!  Hate these people who try to get money out of innocent people.

I got the exact same email this morning.  I forwarded it on to my lawyer since it was a little fishy with the writing.  Everything on my email was correct with my SSN too.  It really freaked me out at first and after I sent it on to my lawyer I google the b*****d.  Only to find this website.  My lawyer called me instantly and said it was a scam and to not answer any phone calls or emails.  I did email this said, Patrick Marsh an email stating my lawyer was looking into this email to see if it was real or not.  I did not get a reply as of yet.  I have reported him or them to my State's Attorney's office and anywhere else I needed to do it at.  Do not let him get to you!!! United we can take him or them down!!!!

Wow, I got the same email from this so called "Patrick March", some Indian speaking man.  I to was concerned, this payday loan was included in my Bankruptcy back in 2007 and discharged.  The phone number he listed in the email to call and resolve was different then the phone number on the document he attached to the email.  This man is using US Department of Justice US Attorney ! Totally illegal to do this...I contacted my bankruptcy attorney and she stated it is a SCAM! and this man and his illegal acts are posted all over the internet.  When I called the phone number he listed on the email, of course he did not answer, however he called back with in seconds...the call connection was horriable and he was very hard to understand.  After I confimed with my attorney this payday loan was included in my bankruptcy and that he was a SCAM, I called him back, and low and behold he answered, not as an attorney at law of course, just "HELLO", really, an professional attorney would never answer the phone like that.  I told him he was a scam, and I was going to report him to the FBI, and yes, he hung up on me..I did email him back with my attorney's name and my case number and told him I was going to report him.  I have not heard from him since...scary thing is, he has my SS#...Wow, what is this world coming to....

DONT SEND THEM ANYTHING but go ahead and have fun with them and send an email back telling him off or invite him to come face to face and get his a** kicked

Just got an e-mail from this same outfit. Wish these bozos had a better command of English. "Many people been to jail"! Oh really clown...and you can "download my forms to courthouse"? Don't believe this.
But really am pissed off that some group of Indian jerks can use my social like this. Wish someone out there would trace this cell number and pay a friendly visit. Besides what kind of lawyer uses a spoofed e-mail address? I hope that these people get whats coming.

I received the same message requesting $1,000.00, mine said I took a loan out in Nov. 06, and didn't repay it.  I believe I did repay it but I do not have any paper work left.  He threatened to arrest me and take my children from me.  Honestly I'm kind of "freaked out".  what has happened since you posted this?  I asked the guy for documentation and he said he wouldn't supply me with any.  My husband said that if he couldn't supply us with the documentation that we would wait for a summons in the mail.  I'm really nervous about this, they have my ss#.

Hey,
Glad I found this site, eventhough by his terrible english I knew he couldn´t be a serious attorney, or the language that he uses in this ridiculous email.  But I just wanted to double check, the only thing that scares me is that he has my SSN, my bank account number, home address,  pretty much everything on me... i´m wondering that hey can use this information to harm me in some way financially... but I would be very happy to see this idiot arrested...

Well, it appears that "Mr. Holder" has turned his phone off. My 5 to 10 emails a day regarding how much trouble they are in now that the authorities are involved seem to have made them fidgety...I DID have a friend translate one of my emails into Hindi so that they would understand....I just hope they stop harassing people

I got the same email except it was from "Eric Holder, Attorney"...LOL! So, the Attorney General is debt collecting now??I knew times were hard, but GEESH...I also expected him to have a better grasp of the written language, but what do I know? I forwarded the email to the FTC, the Florida Attorney General, and the Department of Justice (He used their Seal on a power point attachment). Now I am sending him emails once an hour quoting federal and state statutes regarding harassment and fair debt collection practices...Not threatening, just nice friendly emails trying to get a response to add to my case

Forward the spam email you received to spam@uce.gov

But first copy the source info and paste it in the email you received and are forwarding to the email address above.

Locate the ?source? information from your email. For example, I use Entourage and the source info is located under the message header at the top of my email program. Depending on your email you use, it may take a little investigating of your headers (File, Edit, View, Message, Format, Tools, etc) to locate the source information of the email.

In the body of the new email you are forwarding to the Fraud Protection Department of the US go, label the info ?Email Source Information pasted below? then paste what you copied into the body the email and send.

DO NOT CALL THEM!

First off, any mention of criminal charges tells you this is FAKE. Failure to pay back a loan is a CIVIL matter. Just the fact that this email isn't even written well, what lawyer would allow his name to be attached to such an email, says that it may have been created by someone who doesn't speak English very well. First thing you should do is go to www.creditlaw.com and print out and review the FDCPA. The more you know about your rights in this matter, the more likely they will be to stop bothering you, they are looking for easy targets. Do you actually owe the debt? What I did first is call the original creditor and ask them who they sent this to for collections. Usually they will have that information. If this email is the first time you've heard of this situation, then you are definitely being scammed. I'd have the IP address looked at too. There's no guarantee this will get anywhere, there are temporary IP addresses that people use all the time but it's worth a shot. See Anonymous's post in this stream on where to go to do that.  Hope I was at least a little help with this.

I did not get an email, but he has called my place of employment 3 times in one day. These calls were made 3/8/11 saying I need to call him at USA Attorney office @352-200-2691. Had an important matter to discuss with me or I would be in deep trouble.  He has done this before to me and I contacted the local sheriffs dept and the local justice of the peace and told them of my situation..He threaten to push a button to download an arrest warrant to the local sheriff dept. I told him I could have my good friend the judge to call him and would not give me any information.
