Just now called me, however, since I didn't recognize the number, I waited for the answering machine to kick in...they hung up before it activated.
     Saw a couple of things on the forums regarding these callers and am using them myself to help ease the nuisance factor, however, won't totally stop the calls. Hopefully these procedures may work for all of you.
     For the land line, see if you can run a block on your phone line for numbers you place into it. These numbers would of course be the "scammers" whom you do not want hear.
      On my phone system I have two options one for "ANONONYMOUS CALLERS": (no phone number OR name shown) scammers, blocked, private, I block them by using *77 on my phone - it will give you directions on how to continue. If it is someone who is legitimate they will leave a message on my voice mail.
     The other option is phone numbers that show on your CALL SCREEN and you recognize them as scammers (or look up the numbers on forums like this one to see if they are): to block, I dial *60 and follow cues.
     When I have a new number that rings through then I drop one of the earlier numbers and replace it with the newest, like this one ( system only accepts approx. 10 at a time).
     Now the cell phone: place the nuisance phone number into your Save Contact directory>new contact>work>scroll to phone number and save. Now go to the phone number>options>contact details>default ringer>change>and choose "NO RINGER". Now when they call, I'm not disturbed because I don't hear it.
      Granted, it may not stop these calls being made, however I'm no longer interrupted and frustrated by them. Also I noticed the old numbers I exchanged with the new numbers are rarely in my future calls, they seem to have dropped off the radar.
     Hope this helps take away some of the frustrations

This number called for the first time today. Left same message...Will call back.. I called the number and it gave me the option to enter my phone number to remove it from the calling list. I did. Time will tell they said it would be removed in 2 business days.

Continuously calling I've registered with DNC,FL still calling

After many calls - I finally blocked the call on my only phone and this caller was still able to put a message on my voice mail "call you back". I want the calls to stop.

Called several times, Delivery Notice, and asks for my name. I hanged up

They show up several times on caller id as "Delivery Notice" in the past 2 weeks and do not leave a message.

Same as folks above. Message left saying "service verification, will call back later" - repeatedly. Call was to 512 area code.

Calls - leave no message - dead air when answered.

Left voicemail: "This is a service verification. We will try again later."
Don't know them, don't want them - SCAM. As a seasoned citizen, I now get many more of these calls from scammers who prey on older Americans.

Offered me a free copy of Star Tribune, verified my address. Asked for Justin, who no longer lives with me and owes money to a lot of CC companies. Possibly a bill collector looking for him, but he verified my address and is supposedly sending me free Sunday papers. Likely a scam or debt collector.

Called many times by this number. Said that a home alert system was being mailed to my home that they just need my address. The guy said my ins. paid for it. No my ins. did not pay for any such thing, I told the guy to quit calling. He keeps calling. Today a girl called , wanted my address for delivery of my gift. I said no , quit calling. she said the Star Tribune wants to send me a gift and just needs my address. I said NO do not call here again. she said in order to take my name off the list they need my address. LOL! I said NO you do not need my address to not call me any more. just take my name off your list. she said oh yea...ok. but I bet they call back. I am on the do not call registry.

Phone ID as 'Delivery notice' so I didn't answer. They left message saying the same thing.

We've been receiving these daily and sometimes twice daily calls for several weeks now. There is never any information given as to who or why they are calling other than "service verification".  Today was the first time there was a telephone number, and it was the only thing the recording said. I called it to have our name removed from their directory and I was told it would be removed in two business days.

Who is this and why?

Have been getting calls from this number for several days. Never any identification of who is calling or what they want. I want it to stop!

I was wondering the same thing.

Called daily, caller ID "delivery notice", left recorded message. On about the 5th day I answered, confirmed they were telemarketers, and had them put me on their don't call list - hopefully. I informed them I'm on the federal do not call list.
