I would bet money that are you right that the offshore call center could misuse your information. Many calls centers have been moved to and then out of India leaving buildings, equipment, destitute people, and a lot of fraud. Equifax outsources their call center and their representatives state they are not allowed to give the location of their call center. Just ask them. These companies doing this are screwing all of us. Many of them are soon going to be paying more taxes so we can enforce this bullsh*t from rich who want to be richer.

Called cell, no message left
Tired of these calls 2012-12-01 16:03:57 Unknown
Until today, my cell phone was immune to these types of calls. Got the first one today.
Added to my blocked call list.

This number called and left no message.
I called back and got an automated message that if I enter my phone number I will not receive any more solicitous calls from "this call list".
Pfft

I wondered how long it would be before someone would call my cellphone offering to "lower your interest rates" and letting me know that this "is your last chance", "press 1 to reach a live operator"! I realize that the DoNotCall list does not work but I thought dialing cellphone with this sort of junk was even legally prohibited. Silly me!
youareright 2012-12-01 03:39:26 Unknown
clearly you are correct. I am just as perplexed that our government that is supposed to protect and provide for the general welfare of the people claim they cannot stop this. I do not believe this. They allowed scammer allen ralsky to operate in the open for years before he was taken down, some of them under Republican Rule. They also allowed US Fidelis to operate openly in Missouri, making Robocalls when they knew right where they were. I am very disappointed in both the FCC and FTC and more than anything our government leaders who knowingly let this continue.

I received the same type of call today on my cell. When I started questioning her and asking her why isn't my own credit card company calling me to offer this interest rate reduction, and how did she get my number (yeah, I can't believe I asked that), she hung up. Smells like scam to me.

Same here, just got called, did not answer. Thanks for letting me know the deal.

This number "robo-calls" our cell phones ... what can we do about this? I'm so tired of this!

Just called on my cell. Didn't answer...no message, like everyone else.
Jeff 2012-11-30 19:43:52 Unknown
They just called me on my cell phone and I made the mistake of answering. It was a recorded message about reducing my credit card rates. Of course it is a scam.

Got a call from "Customer Service" and since I was expecting a call from Charter I answered. Upon answering I instantly got a voice recording that told me this was an important message about my credit card account and to press 1 to continue. So I did, I was then told by automated voice that I was approved for a lower interest rate and increased credit line and to accept this, press 1...so I did. Then a live person comes on with a thick Indian accent saying that my Bank of America card was approved for the lower interest and higher credit line. Since I don't own a BofA card (im crazy, not stupid) I told him that I dont have a BofA card and he quickly changed that to "Oh I'm sorry, I meant your Chase Visa card" By now I knew completely this was a scam to get my credit card info from me, so I played with them some more and told him that I dont have a Chase Visa either, and without missing a beat I got "Please excuse my inattention, I deal with so many companies here, I have the paperwork scrambled, I meant to say your HSBC Mastercard account." I will admit the guy was quick, but since the only cards I have are via my credit union, I thanked him for the five minutes of entertainment and that he stayed on the line just long enough for "us" to get a trace on this call....and for some reason he hung up instantly.

I got this call. I do not want any calls from unknowns. I do not want them to call again. How can I get off their list.

My story is the same as all of the many posts on this site...My 90 year old mother also gets these calls at least once a week & she has no credit cards!

Received a call from this number, no message. On my Android phone I looked at recent, read this site, and put the number on my phone's reject list. (my phone's a Samsung Galaxy IIIS with Verizon, so your phone might not have that option.)
J.G 2012-11-30 16:02:21 Unknown
Just got a call from the same company. They asked about my debt and then hung up when I said I did not have any credit cards.
Deb 2012-11-30 15:51:15 Unknown
Received a call from this number. I do not answer numbers I do not recognize. They left no message. I am on the Do Not Call List, which apparently is useless since I am still receiving unsolicited calls.
lmdw 2012-11-30 14:43:31 Unknown
I have gotten calls from this number repeatedly. I do not answer, but they are annoying.
Amy 2012-11-30 14:29:37 Unknown
Just got a call from this number 360-633-9298 with a recorded message offering to lower my interest rate on my credit card. When I pressed 1 to speak to someone and proceeded to tell them to remove this number from their marketing they quickly hung up. My phone number is on a Do Not Call registry.
Clearly this is a violation along with deceptive call practices by pretending to be my credit card company.

Jack***es called me on my cell which no body should call except family. If I ever find them, they are in deep stuff.

Got a call from 360-633-9298 I missed the call, no message was left. I am on the do not call list, for what ever it is worth.

This number called me today @ 3:30 CST, I answered, but they hung up on me. So I have no clue what they wanted, just odd no said anything when I answered.

Just got a call too, ignored it, looked up the number while it was still ringing, ignored it some more, and when it stopped ringing, I blocked it. Seems these types of scofflaws change their own numbers frequently to avoid detection, and judging by everyone who added a comment in the past couple of days, this week seems to be the week for this particular number.
The National Registry is a joke and seems to have more loopholes than actual law.

just received a call from this number. like a caller above.....it was that darling heather who was offering a lower interest rate on my credit card. this was a recording, so after listening to most of the message, i merely hung up. having gone through a bankruptcy and now a foreclosure to boot....no company in their right mind would offer me another card less than a lower rate on an existing one. don't under ANY circumstances give out any of your personal info over the phone to ANYONE. if the call is authentic, they will be glad to mail the offer and paperwork to you upon your request. that actually gets THEM to hang up.

I received the same type call today. Who can we report this to?
