I think avoiding people is wrong but when you try to work things out and come to a agreement on a amount that it should be accepted the first time.  When people are saying they are calling and there is no one there by that name it is never okay for the company to give the person that answers a hard time.  i am still enrolled in college and I am being asked to pay $4000 for a semester that I wasn't even in attendance for.  They wanted my personal information and I will not be submitting my checking account number or any of that to have them take more money then what is owed.. I will mail a payment just as I pay other bills.

These nitwits keep calling about a student loan taken out by someone I've never heard of.
I told them to take me to court which might be difficult on their part.  They don't know my name or address and I've never owed anyone anything.

Stephan,  these people are trying to collect old debts that have already been settled.  I know of six people who were behind in payments but have paid their debts years ago.  These yokes are trying to get a second bite of the apple that has already been eaten.  They don't send them a wooden nickel.  Tell them to send the paperwork and prove you owe someone.  Check the laws about defaulted  loans and what time period may pass and they are written off.

Bottom line is pay ur student loans. However, these debt collectors are heartless, uneducated reps they hire off the street.  Employees do drugs on premesis and owner does not care, as long as money comes in no matter how much they lie.  Small town business trying to get bigger. Smh.

I just received a call from this number stating that I owe college money from 1996.  I live in PA and out statute of limitations for collections is 4 years.  This is 17 years later.  The money had been paid off a long time ago and I graduated.  Now they want proof that I paid it.  I don't have the proof because of a house fire.  The bank account I used was closed and eliminated because of a divorce.  They want to collect my money.  Well they are not getting anything.  I owe nothing.  And the funny thing is this does not show up on my credit report.  Imagine that.  If I owed it would be there.  They make you think they are lawyers too.  My message I received was from the law office of... .

Calling someone a lowlife kinda makes you sound like a lowlife. .. you have no clue what situations these people are in.   If you were professional you would have restrained from lowering yourself to the standards of "typical" bill collectors.   And saying you make $$ well that's just tacky. .remember the saying if the shoe were on the other for because with your lack of class I can see  unemployment lines in your future. .. again shame on you

Do you work for this company?  Seeing as though this site is for people with questions and/or are complaining about the harassing phone calls and the nature of their tactics, why do you even have a post here?  I don't have any outstanding loans and they are attempting to collect a debt that has been disputed.  Classes were taken at an institution almost 5 years ago.
Since it appears that you have some connection with them, whether it be professional or simple emotional, can you respond to why they don't follow protocol.  Why is it that they do not have any personal information for me, other than an address where I no longer reside, the last four digits of my social and my cell phone number that I've had for 6 years? Why does the woman refuse to dispute the charges with whomever they received the account from or have contact information for them?  Furthermore, I received my first phone call from Williams & Fudge in July of 2013.  I wonder what their commission rate is?

Williams and Fudge keeps calling me all day long on my cell phone, at my job. I contacted my college and they are going to work with me on my debt, when we checked, many of the fees were able to be removed by the college. My balance was reduced and I am going to pay small payments. I hope this helps someone else.

I'm very upset that these people would call my under age young son's mobile number to track me down and I don't even have a debt with them or anyone else. Want me to relay a message to somebody else. That's harassment to me.

I as well have been getting calls from this company. Now bear in mind, I did go to college for LPN 5 years after high school. I worked jobs so I could pay my way through school. I have never took out a student loan, ever! I paid my tuition, books, uniforms, etc.. all with cash. I just moved to a different state to which I may have to take LPN classes again due to living in another state. The only time I did not pay my bills on time was when I was up north visiting family and I tried to take good care of not falling on ice, I had slipped and broke my ankle being out of work for a few months; after going back to work- I did get caught back up with my bills (being from Florida-where hardly any snow)  When the first call came through- i was very hesitant about answering since i did not know the number. When I finally did answer, she stated her name and what company she was calling for, and asked to speak with a Donna. I stated to her that I know no one of by the name of Donna and  just got this number a few weeks ago. She asked for my name and SSN...I gave her my first name and told her i will not give out my SSN as it is none of her business. She got very ill toward me after that and told me that I am a dead beat, need to pay my bills. I calmly stated to her i moved and whoever she was looking for must had this number before me; at the time I still did not know hardly anyone around the area expect for some co-workers.

She told me that I was her and just using that excuse up due to not wanting to pay my bills. I tried to tell the woman in a nice tone that I do not know who this woman is and please do not contact me anymore, to take my number off your list-this person is no longer at this number and hung up. A few days later-another call came in from the same number. I stated to this person what i told the woman before, this time he hung up. I got at least a dozen or so calls a week from this company on my cell. I do not know who this Donna woman is! They even somehow found my employer phone number and contacted them and this guy stated what the call was about..TO MY BOSS!! Now I do know that is a BIG NO NO!! As a 3rd party collection agency- they are not allowed to communicate with anyone other than the person who they are trying to contact. After my boss to them they have the wrong person, they called me at work. I told them not to call at my work or my cell and the woman that i spoke to first time told me what the call was about. When i told her that what she was doing is a no no and i could sue her for it, she flipped out and called me a liar and that she will take me to court. She then tried calling the payroll dept to try to garnish my wages and stated that they were a law firm and needed my wages garnished. Luckily the payroll people knew better than to do that unless they had some sort of paperwork or it was by federal. This Donna woman did not pay her student loan back and it was quite a bit and wanted me to pay for her debt..What...Really....?? I don't think so!

After a week of more calls and harassment, I sent a C&D letter, had it overnighted and certified. They still continue to call. I hired an attorney, and when I told them that they need to contact my attorney from now on, they laughed, and stated they will keep calling until i pay for my debt...a debt that is not even mine!!! I took them to court, and needless to say- they got their a@@es handed to them. So for those of you who state to pay your bills.... WHAT IF YOU... moved out of state, changed numbers, started getting calls from collection agencies asking for the person who previously had your new number...i bet those of you wouldn't be stating to pay your bills because you will be in that same scenario.

So yes they do call wrong numbers wanting information on the previous person.  Yes they do harass you about others debt that is not yours. They don't care if it is the wrong number as long as they get paid is what they want; whether it be  your own debt or not.

LOL.  People become debt collectors with William and Fudge because they pay their debt collectors $60,000 base salary plus commission.  I'd say that's a damn good reason to become a debt collector.
Plus it helps America get one step closer to being out of debt.  Solution:  Don't go to college unless you can afford it!!!!!

They are calling my new number looking for someone who is not me, I have no student loans! They are looking for someone else and need to stop calling every name in the book that might be associated with that person, harassing people that are not the correct individual makes these guys scum! Before you pay anything to these ruthless people, request in writing a "validation of debt" proving you owe the money.  A copy of a statement is not considered validation.  They should be able to provide a copy of your original contract agreement proving the loan in question.  Do yourself a favor, google "debt validation or validation of debt".  Know your rights!  Good luck!

Hey, good point, however your grammar sucks, so you most likely do not owe a collection for a student loan yourself, and it's ironic to hear you tell others to think before they type! hahaah!! Too funny!!

I've been getting calls from a woman who says her name is Mrs King and she is with Williams and Fudge calling about a student loan I had from back in 1985.  She's using a different telephone number however (803) 326-1269.  She had called several times before asking if I was born on a specific date and I wouldn't tell her my birthdate.  Now she keeps calling I talked to her briefly on 8/25/12 and she told me she was calling about the student loan.  I asked her to send me some paper work regarding the loan, as of yet I have received nothing from her.  Today she called again and I asked her where the paper work was she was going to send and she gave some excuse and then told me she was going to record our conversation.  I promptly hung up on her.  I don't know what these people are up to but something doesn't sound right if they can not send  you documentation for for something they say you owe.

I have been harassed by them for nearly a year now...I constantly ask for an itemized bill of any and all payments recieved and they refused to send this to me.  So now when they call I simply use my youmail to give them a nice voicemail and it ditches their call.  I will not pay another cent until I am given an itemized statement of all payments.

You have a lot of nerve. These dirtbags called me, gave phony information about who they were and were asking for my MINOR child.  No one in this household owes any kind of debt. Let alone student loans.  The dirtbags got mad at me because I would not verify information on my MINOR child.  The child is only 12.  I went to my local sheriff's dept and filed a complaint as well as filed a complaint with the FTC and BBB.  Furthermore, even if they are legitimate, then they should have apologized and hung up the second they found out they had the wrong phone number.  Since they gave bad information, my first thought was child predator, identity theft, or something of that nature.  I found them online and called their 1-800 #. I got a new dirt bag that then tried to tell me they were actually looking for someone else with a name that sounded NOTHING like my child's name.  People have a right to collect on debts, but they have laws to follow and I'm pretty sure that harassing people at a wrong number or continuing to ask for information when they've been told the person they've asked for is a minor child is not following those laws.
