Would you stop calling my house

Two phone calls - this one I answered.  Asian accent woman asks for a name unfamiliar to me.  I tell her no one is there by that name, perhaps she called the wrong number.  She then asks for validation on the address of the number she has called and reads off my address.   I tell her that this is of no importance, and to not call again.

I just received a call from the number in this blog and I am at work.  When I answered with my professional welcome the person just hung up without saying a word.

just to let you all know fti is a company who works for the american diabetes association. THEY ARE NON PROFIT. SO IF YOU READ THE SMALL PRINT. YOU WOULD KNOW THAT: 1 WE ARE EXEMPT FROM THE DO NOT CALL LAWS.2 SO ARE POLITICAL CAMPAIGNS.just so you know the calls maybe annoying at times but people still have to work. when you don't answer you are automatically called back if you don't want to be called you can kindly answer the phone phone and ask to be placed on their do not call list. instead of complaining, or hanging up on them.

I know that it's legal for non-profits and politicians to call, but my short list of welcome callers to my home phone is limited to family members and very close personal friends who can pronounce my name. It's not comforting to me that a total stranger knows my name and address. Since I have an unlisted and unpublished number, I think it's scary.

I'm someone you DON'T want to piss off, and I take revenge seriously.  I have an elderly mother living with me, and when she answers calls like this, they always spot the pigeon.  Thakfully, because of her medical condition, she no longer has access to financial accounts and can not offer them anything.  What about your mother or father?  Bet they'd whip out a check or credit card for "the poor little children", wouldn't they? Sick how bastards like this get away with this crap.

Here's my suggestion for the next person who reads this far into the reams of complaints about this company - get a whistle and keep it by the phone.  Use it liberally whenever this number comes up on your ID.  <smile> Revenge is sweet, even if you're too nice to actually do it, I know this made you smile.  

Oh, and for those who go to the website that another poster put up previously, be sure and debug your computer immediately after reading this.  If you don't currently have anything to get rid of things that track your movements online, just Google "AdAware" and/or "Advanced Windows Care" for free software that is extremely helpful in ridding your computer of tracking cookies.  (and no, I don't work for Google, AdAware or Advanced Windows Care, but I do use thier respective products daily)

For those of you who want to take it a step further, may I suggest you let your feelings be known directly to the man and woman behind this horrible scheme?  Here are some helpful hints so you don't have to visit their website.

This is a company who's sole objective is to obtain money by using the names of reputable charities we all know and support and taking ridiculous portions of the monies raised.  Please, by all means, give to chairity - any chairity, just do it DIRECTLY.  Call St. Jude's yourself, their number is easy to find.  The Diabetics out there would appriciate your help, just Google it and you'll find the charity of your choice.  But DON'T EVER GIVE FUNDS TO ANYONE WHO CALLS YOU OUT OF THE BLUE LIKE THIS.  Just because the guy on the other end of the phone says he's calling for the Police Youth group in your area doesn't mean he's acutally a policeman!!  You're only giving (if they're lucky) $0.20 of every dollar you send.  And you can be sure that once you do send it in, your name, address, chairitable preference, AND YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT INFORMATION IS _FOREVER_ IN _THEIR_ DATABASE!!!!

Any phone number starting with (361)992-XXXX can be assumed to be coming from this particular scam operation.  Please, grab an index card and post that number on or near your phone so that everyone in your house knows not to talk to them!  Make sure your elderly family members are warned that although they may "sound legitimate" they most definitely are parasites and are not to be trusted!!  If you still need to be scared into acting, allow me to demonstrate a little mathematics...

Can you think of how many people they can call each and every day?  If 100 people sitting in a room can get 10 yokels each to give $100.00, they've made $80,000 pure proft for themselves and just $20,000 for the chairity they represent - in JUST ONE DAY!  How much have YOU made today?  Bet it's nowhere near those numbers, huh?  Bet 'ol Sally and Curt aren't hurting in this economy, huh?  <wicked thought> Wonder just how much ink and paper are left in their fax machines...

These idiots are calling my home on a Sunday afternoon.

they keep calling my cell phone number. Nights and weekends, and of course if I answered the evening calls I would get charged.

Somebody offered to sell me pictures of their family members fornicating with goats.
I told them, happily, that I didn't need that sort of enrichment.

this number has been appearing on my caller id for months and i finally was home to answer.  curiousity got me... i just wanted to see what this "texas" number wanted.  the dude said he was from the american diabetes association and that i had donated from this number last year... only problems were that i am NOT the person they asked for and i have never donated to the american diabetes assosiation.  i work for a nonprofit as a fundraiser and have become very used to keeping close tabs on my own gifts to nonprofits.

the saddest thing is that the american diabetes association is a very respectable organization and they should probably just hire a few nationaql gift officers to raise these funds, instead of paying (probably) astronomical fees to this outside group to make unsolicited calls.

calls my cell phone CONSTANTLY, especially during working hours. They never leave a message. It's REALLY annoying!

This number has called about 5 times on my business number.  When I answer with our business name they hang up.  It is extremely annoying.  I called the number back and they said if I would like to give them my number they will take me off their list.  I didn't give them my number because I figured they would just continue to call anyway.

I faxed every fax number I could find on this company and told them to STOP CALLING ME and listed my number......in size 72 font!

It doesn't help to tell them to remove your phone number from their calling list.   They continue to call.  There must be someone we can complain to, but they probably won't do anything about it.

Asked for me by name and, when told I wasn't home, said they were from the American Diabetes Association and wouldn't leave any other info.  I HATE telemarketers - pigs.  I am on DNC list.

Futuremarket TE comes up on my caller ID regular, but they seem to change the last 4 numbers now and then just so you can't block so easily.  Never answer anymore.

They have not called since I reported them some months ago,just this week there at it again, two -three calls a day...everyday this week

B*****ds call us almost everyday. We simply don't answer, thanks to caller ID.  We're also registered on do not call.  This has been going on FOR MONTHS.

Great posting!  The whistle idea is a neat idea!  All I can say is Charity begins at home.  In this day and age it's amazing that people would consider donating to anyone who makes these obnoxious phone calls 7/7 at any time of the day and night.  Due to the increase in telemarketing and scam calls, our main phone ringer is always off and all calls are directed to an answering service and they never will reach us no matter when they call.  The so-called Do Not Call lists with the State and Federal Government do not work, period as evidence in my listing of unsolicited phone calls received and not answered have greatly increased.

I don't think this company, FutureMarket, is scamming people. I think they are calling on behalf of these charities.

Don't get me wrong, I hate telemarketers. And I don't think you should donate over the phone. At the same time, though, it's not unusual for a charity to outsource the telemarketing.

They have called five times for five days - never leaving a message. I have been listed on the DO-NOT-CALL list but apparently that does not bother them .
