Just received text from same guy wanting to know if our bike was still for sale. I texted him back it was still available but haven't yet heard back from him. Decided to google his #.  Like many others posted...am glad I did.  Thanks everyone!!

Yep he just tried to get me! I looked his number up&couldn't believe all the remarks on this guy!So I took pictures of all his negative complaints&sent it to him! Tols him he was a trying to scam me&the f*****n p****s me off! He hasn't replied back yet!

JUST got the same guy.  Roberto Mark - Same MO.  Please don't fall for his crap.

Just got a text about my car on craigslist, also stating his name is Roberto Mark. Glad I looked up the number so I know not to respond again.

I received a text about my craigslist posting.

JUst got a message from this number, same thing, scam. wants paypal account blah blah blah

I got the call, too.  But I used a little technology to identify and block them.  I have the option to block all calls. It may help some of you too if you want to take a look at this info:

Same story except this time he told me his name was Roberto Mark. Glad I went with my gut and checked out the number! Mine was for a motorcycle that I'd posted on Craigslist.

It is a scam.
Here is how it works:
They contact you and want to buy your item via PayPal.
They ask for your PayPal info, you provide it.
They then say I'll give you XXX more money, the extra is to pay the shipping agent and want you to wire the extra money to the agent.
You agree and then get a message from PayPal that the funds have been deposited into your account, so you go and wire transfer or pre-paid card the extra funds to the shipper.
However......
The "shipping agent" is really the scammer.
The message from PayPal is a faked email from the scammer, no funds were deposited.

You loose out by wire transfer/pre-paid your own money to the scammer. As it was wire/pre-paid, you can't get the funds reversed.

I felt there was something odd about this person from the first text they sent me. Basically my scenario was an exact replica of what Jimmy posted word for word. Scary because for a second, I was about to give him my name and paypal information. Thankfully my intuition was strong enough for me to look into the phone number to see what I could find, and here I am. Thanks for posting everyone.

Sent them one last text wishing them the best and hoping they find a more legitimate means to make money than scamming people. Bad juju :)

Text message on my car ad.....................

SCAM!!! They wanted to purchase my $19,000 car off of craigslist without ever seeing it or talking to me directly. They wanted my Paypal info so they could send me the $ and have their driver pick it up.
I just received 3 text messages from this # 385-204-4176
. Definitely a SCAM. I have received numerous text from various numbers, but they all say the same thing--exactly.
"Hello, Is this still available for sale? If yes get back to me immediately and my questions are: are you the first owner and what is your last asking price Thanks and hope to read from you soon"

Well he still calling/texting. I received same thing about my craigslist posting. Never ever give out any information. If they want it then come see it in person and pay me then. but till then I wont except, pay pal, checks, western union or anything like that. Nobody needs to know my information. I'm the one selling this.Thanks for all your other comments. Brian

We just receive a text also, he said the same thing, that he was busy, was a merchant marine and wanted my full name and paypal. He said he was at sea and couldn't call. Thank you for posting your information.

We were just contacted by this same phone number, the guy kept using "mate" when we talked to us. He also wanted to purchase our vehicle and wanted our PayPal info along with our email address. When you call the phone number it goes straight to a random voicemail.  I just called and told him all bets are off and am reporting the number to Craigslist!!  Thanks Jimmy!!

Just received text from this number about a listing on craigslist for my truck.....

Same thing happened to my husband. Asking for paypal information and wanting to send someone to pickup the harley davidson we have listed.

The exact same situation listed from the caller above just happend to me.  Same details.  This must be a scam.  As Jimmy warns above BEWARE!

This number (Northern Florida area code) responded to my auto listing on craigslist (Southern Cal) via text.  Numerous red flags occurred in their inquiry but most especially he asked for my paypal info and other personal info without even asking about the condition, negotiating price, having a phone conversation or providing their name.  Stated he was so busy that he would have a 'pick-up' agent come get the car once I gave him all the information and the money was delivered.  Internet scammer, BEWARE!
