Keep getting messages about adding them on instant messenger

I received a text today from that number.  It's some kind of spam.  Wanted me to add them on instant messenger.

Today I got a text on my cell phone using my first name.

Text from someone that knows my name

text messages from someone who knows my name.... hacked??
