Second call in two days.  Spoke to supervisor, Sean (sp?).  Asked him if is he knows about Do Not Call list; he said he "had heard about it"; then hung up.   I tried to dial the number and it "cannot be completed as dialed."

Second call in two days as well.  I told them that I reported them to the Do Not Call.  She hung up.  They called today and didn't get a response when I answered.  I think they use different numbers to call from.  Always comes up on Caller ID as 'Rhode Is Call'.  ANNOYING!!!!!!

I got a call from them just now but didn't answer because I didn't recognize the caller or number.  It also said, "unknown caller Rhode Island".

Called, left no message, didnt speak. Caller ID Just said Rhode  Island call. Just hung up when I answered the phone. Bastards.

Hello all.  I received a call from this # as well.  As someone else mentioned, I thought it was relatives we have in Rhode Island calling, so I answered it.  A women with broken english told me that I had beed "selected" to receive a free GE home security system.  I am sure that there next step was to just "verify" all kinds of my personal information.  But, I can smell a scam, even from a few states away!   Anyway, I told them I was not interested and ended the call.  They called again this morning....How damn annoying.  I am on the National do not call list...so I decided to go to the website and file a complaint!  This is my best recommendation for anyone else who gets this call!

I would like to update my last post.  I actually just got off the phone with GE security.  I got their customer support # from their website.  I told them that I wanted to report a possible fraudulant company claiming to be acting on behalf of their company and that the call came from Rhode Island.  The Rep told me that it is actually affiliated with them and it is a part of their summer special or something (last time I checked it was Fall, not summer) and that they are in fact giving away free systems...of course you have to pay fees, put signs in your yard, blah, blah, blah.  Anyway, I did tell the Rep that I am on the National Do Not Call list and that I have reported the number.  Her response seemed to be one of surprize...Thought I would put this info out there for all other victims of this annoying phone call!

They called me twice the first time no spoke!  The second time the asked me some questions about fire alarms!(in very broken English)  Then they asked me my name and I said you called ME and hung up...I smell a scam

Have also received similar phone calls from 1-401-401-1234.  The company appears to be using these numbers as screens to disguise where they're really calling from.
Am also on Do Not Call Registry, both state and national.

called the office....all three lines were ringing at the same time from this number as well as our fax line.

They called again today - I was in a curious mood so I answered.  The man who was clearly from India, told me his name was Peter something or other calling from Monitronics and that this is not a sales call.  I said it had better not be.  He asked if I have a smoke alarm and I told him it was none of his business and that he'd better remove my number from their list and he started to bluster as I hung up.

Received a call just like others in this thread on 10/24/08 and *69'd it back to 401 401-1122, which doesn't accept incoming calls.  I looked up and called VMS, and after some resistance from the switchboard operator, spoke with a manager named Patrick Johnson.  He claims the numbers he calls come from leads he receives from Sales Genie.  I told him I'm on the do not call list, and he said he'd take my number off his call list.  He then started to ridicule and berate me for calling him about the do not call registry.  Sounds like a boiler room operation to me!

Report it to the FTC via the National do not call list website.  If you are on the list, you can report it.  The more people that do makes the chances of an investigation and them getting caught better!! :)

I ran to get the phone, had seen this number before, and just wanted to tell them to stop calling.  I said hello, and they waited two seconds, and then just hung up!  What the?!

Somebody at this number called twice.  The first time I hung up when nobody responded to my two hello's.  The second time they called, I put my 6 week old on the phone to goo and gaa for a few minutes!

someone just called me a man who speeks no engilish!!!!!!!!!!!!! saying i won a GE home security system, funny we already have one. But I put a trace on and we do have leads from were i live it is a scam beware

Yeah Big Freakin Scam alarm company lol!

If you go to the do not call list website they actualy have a section where you can file a complaint about these calls. You must have been registered with the do not call list for 30 days in order to do so. i filed a complaint with this phone #. lets see if anything comes of it.

Has turned up on my caller ID severl times during the day.  Just did a search and found this website here.  Did not answer

When they called me I said hello about 3x's before someone responded. The only reason I didnt hang up was becuase i thought it might be a family member from Rhode Island calling. Is there anything we can do about this?

This caller barely spoke english. Asked me if i had smoke detectors fire extinguishers and an evacuation route. I explained to him that I was not interested in a survey. When I did this he became very very aggitated. then he started asking me if i was so and so ( he knew my full name) I didnt answer him right away and he kept on asking ( very determined) when I finally answered "yes this is" he hung up. Very very weird. I was a little disturbed by this phone call. I even questioned if I should call the police. but my guess is that they wont do much. If you call this # back it states it is not a valid #. unreal.

I got a call today saying "Me and 7 other home owner in my area have won a G.E. Home Security System."  Yeah right.  Scam!

No one left a message.  Caller just hung up when answering machine picked up.
