Stupid people have called me twice already this morning and it's 9:15 am!! Apparently Blockbuster reinstated the late fee, without telling anyone, and is charging 3 dollars and some odd cents a DAY for every late movie, so I get movies thinking I've got all week to return them, not knowing about the late charges, and all of a sudden I owe them 39 dollars!! They are not getting a dime out of me and if they continue to have their people calling me all day long, I'm gonna sic my husband on them, no one says no to him :)

It is a collection agency if you own Blockbusters money.

Finally I got a number to call and spoke to a person who can remove my telephone number from their system. It's 1-866-504-7050. You just need to tell them you don't know the person they are calling and that you want them to stop calling.

I keep getting automated calls from a debit collector from (402) 220-0722. They are asking about a Brandie Diane Valencia. There is no Brandie Diane Valencia at this number. There is no way to talk to a live person to ask them to quit calling.

As with Austin, TX, these AHs have been calling me for months; the only difference being that the calls come at all hours of the day. They purportedly are looking for a "Jose Jimenez" and play a recording that starts off saying it is a call from a debt collector, etc, and if you are not Jose Jimenez then hang up. The only problem is that when you do, they do not stop calling. If you do not hang up you are routed into a recording that claims Jose owes $32.82 on his Blockbuster account as of Month, Day, Year (the amount has not changed although this has been going on for months); and that to insure continuing service he needs to make a payment on his account. They then give you options according to the method of payment.
When you do not answer and they leave a voicemail, if you call the number they provide (800-613-1802) from the phone upon which you received the call, then it recognizes that you are the person dialed as "Jose Jimenez" and goes into the collection scenario. What really ticks me off is that there appears (from my experience) to be no way to contact a live human being to inform them that I am not Jose Jimenez.
If Blockbuster has actually hired these guys to collect their delinquent accounts, then Blockbuster is getting ripped off. If Blockbuster has not hired them, then it is a phishing scam and you will be the one ripped off.

Received a call for someone else stating that they are a collection agancy for Blockbuster. I have been getting calls from 800-613-1802 as well. Anything I can do to get this to stop?

I guess this is the new number being used by the same scammers that used the 800-613-1802. Do not give them money. It is a phishing scam using Blockbuster as a front. They have been calling for months early in the morning asking for a person who is not me and asking me to pay for my bill with a credit card or a check. I have contacted Blockbuster to help stop this but who knows what they can do.
