Called at 4:39a, and 5:15am

I'm in Omaha, the same city as Creighton.  These calls made my local news last night.

Apparently there was a programming error.  They were trying to send-out an alert to current students to tell them about dangers near campus.  There's a software problem (or maybe somebody's finger slipped) and they accidentally sent the alart to all the alumni.  They are trying to fix it.  

If you got it and didn't go to Creighton the person who had your phone number before you got it probably did go there.

I received two calls - one regarding a shooting at 33rd Av, the second that it has now been resolved.  I live in Plymouth MN.

They called me twice 2.20 am and again 3.15.am in California. Please stop calling at this time or any time.

called twice last night at 4:39 and 5:15

I called 402-280-2780 and press 0 for Public Safety.  I talked to a man who said it called many, many numbers throughout the US.  He took my number to remove it.

WE GOT TWO CALLS LAST NITE ALSO. MY WIFE IS A CREIGHTON LAW SCHOOL GRAD 20 YEARS AGO. THEY ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR MONEY. BUT THIS IS SICK, WILL CALL ON MONDAY.

Creighton University Alert system...never attended, don't even know where it is located, and live in St. Louis!  Not happy I received 2 phone calls very early on a Sat morning!

We got called at 3:30 telling us there was a shooting at 33rd and Burt and to avoid that area. Then at 4:30 telling us it was ok police investigation complete.   We are in Denver.

Does anyone have a Connection to Metro Comm College in Omaha?
The just activated there Alert system. I received two calls also regarding a shooting at 33rd and Fort - right by one of their campuses.

I am an alumni, and I got my semi-annual fundraising call recently, but wasn't home to accept it.  I'm wondering if someone thought it would be funny to register our phone number.  Already contacted the Alumni Office.

I received two calls, one about a shooting at 33rd & 1st street, the another that the police had resolved the matter. I live in St Louis and do not know anyone there.

Got a call at 0547 on 10/9/10 regarding some shooting in downtown Omaha.  Later got another call at 0621 saying situation was over.  Internet search revealed that this may have come from Creighton University (CUALERT) that all students are requred to have but not alumni like myself, who left over 15 years ago.  You may go to their website and file a complaint (which I did) and ask that you not receive any more calls.

ITS AN ALERT MESSAGE FROM CREIGHTON UNIVERSITY

They called me three times between 4:30 a.m. and 5:27 a.m. It's coming from CU Alerts (Creighton). No idea how my number got into their system. I've never been a student there and I live in Lincoln. Someone's going to get an earful from me.
