It's a courtesy call from the American Red Cross.   They use a system of rotating phone banks to save on cost.  They are just slow to answer.  must be some delay on their end.  They asked me to donate Blood.  I have type AB+ and they said the banks are low and would love for me to donate.  I too am in the Twin cities

If it's a courtesy call, then why do they hang up when people answer?? That doesn't make any sense. No message is ever left when I don't answer either, so really it seems like a gross waste of resources...

I have been called by this number at least twice a week. I answered once and they hung up.

Ya, they seriously call a few times a week, and I finally answered two of their calls, and both times they hung up on me.  I looked up the area code, and it says it's from Nebraska?  Wtf?

I received a call from this number as well.  There was no answer on the other end, just dead air.  If it's Red Cross then I totally believe it.  They call a lot soliciting for blood donations even though I've told them repeatedly that I'm no longer eligible to give blood (frequent tattoos, not disease).  I guess they just don't listen because I get a call about every two weeks.

I've been getting the same treatment where I'm called constantly. I decided forward all calls from this number to my google voice account that only has a 5 second greeting. Usually the person calling asks if I'm available and says "hello" about 3 times.

Why wouldn't the Red Cross leave a message tho?  They call every 2-3 days and call 2 or 3 times a day.  EXTREMELY ANNOYING.  I just want them to delete my number, I haven't donated blood in 5 years.  Annoying phone calls will not convince me to donate again.

They call me c. 2-3 times a day.  # is not identified and they NEVER leave a message.  Last time they called (c. 3 months ago) I asked them to stop calling.  I told them about a very bad experience I had with them at a work bloodmobile event and now give religiously every 56 days ELSEWHERE!  I wish they would stop calling!!!!!

@Phil same here. They used to call from an 800 # for me. then they sneakily switched #s on me. I really don't like the pestering thus I've stopped going.

This number calls my cell 2x a day and never, ever leaves a message. I never pick up for a number I don't recognize - why waste the minutes? Looks like Red Cross, eh? If they were serious, they'd leave a message. I used to donate regularly, but because of this constant harassment, I've quit.

It's the Red Cross folks reminding you that you can give blood every 56 days.  They really need O+ if you have it.  (Other types too)
