| Hassled by some dude about domains 2013-07-19 18:00:13 Unknown |
Got a call from "yellowpages" asking about my domains and whether they are business or personal... then he started asking if I had other domains and I told him i did not want to give that information. Very weird attitude and hard to understand with the accent and s****y signal quality. He failed to tell me who he was and why he was calling before asking about my domain names.

I got a call from this number today.
The first time he called, I could hear the call center noises behind him. His call took a long time to come through so I knew it was a call center but seeing it was my cell I wanted to know who it was. I don't use my cell for anything but personal calls. His line was garbled and I could barely make out what he was saying due to the background noise, his accent, and the line. I told him that I could not understand him several times, and when he kept insisting that I answer some unknown question, I hung up.
The same number called back again the same scenario all over again. This time I could understand him a bit better. "Richard" (obviously a false name) wanted to know if I was the owner of a domain. I did not feel I had to answer him. I had no idea why he wanted it, or why he would want that information from anyone. Any domain I had ever registered in the past had been privately registered. I politely asked him to remove me from his calling list.
"Richard" called once again. He was getting insistent and demanding. "Are you the owner of XYZblahblahblah.com?" This time I was more firm with my request. "Take me off your calling list." He demanded an answer and got angry, "Why won?t you just tell me! What does it hurt to tell me if you own the domain?" I slowed him down and said, "Okay. You said your name is Richard, and you?re calling from Yellowpages.com. What is the contact number of the company?? He was startled and asked "What?" I asked again... He hung up.

What I have been doing today is call them after work hours and their answering thing answers and that gives me two things to do 1- sometimes it gives me the name of who called then I give them a what for. I would like to see their face when they hear my mesage

You can build a picket fence of exclamation points, but your demands here do no good. Your callers do not maintain this site or this web page. Your callers cannot magically determine which numbers should not be called based on anonymous comments. You will not get compliance with your orders until, if possible, you deliver them *directly* to your caller.
