If its like a lot of the tele-marketing calls, sometimes they just record phone activity, then sell the results to list builders. You may end up tagged as one who will answer a phone with any old inbound number.

I got a call from this number on my cell today (3/30), but I missed it. I was expecting a call from a long lost associate, so I probably would have answered it, but there was no ID other than the number. Left no message, no surprise based on this post thread. I did this google search to perhaps ID the caller, looks like an auto-dial insurance thing. Looks like I won't be calling them back.

That's a good one. I got a call from this number thinking it was someone trying to hunt me down.
Here's one I use on the "survey" calls, you acknowledge them and then tell them how important and valuable a service market research is, then you ask "is this a paid survey"? You'll get one of three responses, either a hang up, a no or a yes. You hang up on the "nos" after saying "then never call again", and supply the value of your time (I like the lawyer rate of $400 per hour, e.g. about $1 every 9 seconds and the meter is running.) That usually shuts their pie-hole for good.

Morons calling to sell you an auto warranty/ I picked up and asked for which of my autos? The Bently, the Jaguar, the Porsche, the guy was bafffled and had no answer. I had on my best rich guy british accent. Very convincing, I must say. He had no answer, so I asked if I could call him later on his home phone or cell. He hung up. Quite uncalled for if I must say. Rather brash, what? Pip pip and all that rot! LOL!

I have received a few calls from this number. It's annoying. The last time I received repeated "unknown" calls -- I picked up the call and didn't say anything. The male caller said "hello" several times and I never said a word. He finally hung up and never called again.

CALLS MY CELL. NO CLUE WHO IT IS.

Automated recording saying it was 2nd notice that my warranty was expiring. Funny, considering I don't have a vehicle. They call from many, many different numbers. This number, of course, is not able to be located on reverse searches. The number is based out of Omaha, NE. Only information I have at this point

| hbeverb 2009-03-27 22:20:45 Unknown |
I got a call from this number at about 6 pm on March 27th. I have stopped picking up calls from numbers I don't recognize, since I have been getting increasing numbers of these calls.

Got a call from this number on my cell phone and the caller id said it was "nebraska" No idea who this is!!
| Marty Futara 2009-03-27 20:43:19 Unknown |
Ya, got one from this number as well, it isn't that they have YOUR number, it is that they have the prefix and area code. The machine just starts from (xxx)xxx-0000 and continues up to 9999 == it will start over again with the same or a different message next time. I just put up with it and hope that maybe someday, these telemarketing A-holes will stop their B.S. -marty
