This is an automated call offering low rates on credit card consolidation. If you press 1, you're taken to an operator who asks "Did you press 1 to get lower interest rates?"
I stated "No, I pressed 1 to get the name and address of this company"
To which she replied "Why, sir?"
I let her know we were on federal and state no-call lists and that future calls would result in our contacting the state attorney general.
She simply said "okay" and hung up.
We'll see if we get any more calls.

I spoke to the company that rents out the caller ID of 402-982-0763 and they were super nice.  They were well aware of this number alread and are flagging it for possible client rejection.  The more of us that call to complain about the abuse of this number, the better chance that this legitimate caller ID renting service will boot the abuser.

Why want the phone company just cut them off.. just how many complains does the public have to give before the law stops them. google their number.
I bet the law would be glad to come get me if I blew a horn in their ear.

I got one of these calls today and decided to mess with them to try to get the REAL name of their company.  The caller had a thick accent.  He told me he was from Visa/MC Card Services out of Miami, FL.  The caller asked if I had a Visa or Mastercard.  I said Mastercard.  He asked for the expiration date so I gave him a date of 7/09.  He later asked for my current balance and credit limit.  Of course I made one up.  Then he asked for my card number and again I made one up.  Later his 'supervisor' got on the phone and said they already all of my Mastercard information up on their computer.  I explained that everything they were telling me was FALSE and they were committing fraud.  He hung up on me but called me back from a number of 321-332-0990.  I did not answer.

there is no doubt it is a scam. I got called yesterday and decided to pick up the phone to tell them I am on the DNC list. Well the automated message said they wanted to lower my cc interest rate and also said they wanted me to know that there was "nothing wrong with my accounts" just wanted to lower my rates. Also was told this was my last chance to take advantage of this. Press 1 to continue press 2 to opt out. Gee, since I do not even have a cc I pressed 2, did not wait for anyone to come on the line, just hung up. So yes it is very obviously a scam!

I have been getting calls from these CC scammers and "auto warranty" folks 10-25 times a week for the past 2 years. I have sent numerous complaints to DNC people and FTC (to no effect). It seems that these a-holes change phone numbers on a regular basis ( I have over 30 different numbers documented so far)
Now, if I am home when they call, and I get someone on the line, I just start rambling, (Do you hear the (?) talking? Why are they talking to me?) or reading from whatever is handy (recipe, junk mail, a book). It obviously does not stop them from calling but it does waste a bit of their time.

to Sojourner..trust me you will get more calls.I have been dealing with this for months.I have reported them twice now to the MO attorney general through the no call site complaint form.I have talked to mulitiple people there and was hung up on numerous times when I asked them to remove me from their calling list.It has been a real annoyance trying to get them to quit calling and it seems as if nothing is working.I continue to report it and that is all there seems to be able to be done. They will probably continue to call me until someone actually does something about them.In my opinion they are idiots and everyone who answers their phones has the education lever of a kingergartner...actually that is an insult to my kindergartner...she is WAY smarter than these idiots!!!! Good luck with getting them to stop calling.

Received the call 4/6/09 at 10:38 am. Recorded message "from your credit card company" offering to lower interest rates. "Press 1 to speak to someone, 2 to no longer receive these messages." I pressed 2 and was connected to a man with a thick accent. I asked his name twice before he told me "Jack." I asked what company he was working for, he said "Visa and Master Card." I pointed out they were two different companies and he said that his company supplies credit cards to both (!). Then he asked if I had a credit card. I told him we are on a no call list and that what he is doing is illegal. He said, "I'm calling from your credit card company." I said, "No you're not, you just asked if I had a credit card, you don't even know!" He hung up.

This is an obvious pfishing scheme - an attempt to steal your credit card information.

I received a call from this number, and it was a man with a heavy accent offering to lower my credit card rate.  I did not feel comfortable answering the questions he was asking, such as "what is the balance on my credit card?", "What is the expiration date on my credit card?"  I hung up and immediately contacted the card services number on the back of my card.  They advised that they do not solicit to offer lower rates, and that it was most likely a fraudulent call.

If you receive this type of call, obviously, do not give them any information, and just hang up.

This same person contacted me back from a number that came up Orlando, FL number 321-332-0990.

I have received calls from this company for over 2 months now.  They are scam artists who are trying to obtain your credit card number.  The caller today was real slick.  He said he was Albert with Card Services and wanted to know which card I had: Visa or Mastercard?  He also want to know the exact amount of debt I had on the card to verify if I qualify for the lower interest rate of %6.  I told him if he had that much information on me and was affliated with my credit card company then I shouldn't have to give any additional information.  I told him I should be the one verfying if he is someone I should give out my credit card number to.  He agrued that he was reading from a computer: my name, basic amount of debt on the card, and that it is Visa or Mastercard.  I told him I needed a call back number and how to reach his company to verfy he is legit.  He argued that he cannot give out any of that information until I give him my credit card number.  Once he has my credit card number he can tell me his information.  The call was ended with him saying I will wait until you give me your credit card number.  I have been reporting these scammers into the Do Not Call, FCC, state attorney general, *57 to trace the calls to authorities, I even requested an article be written in local papers on these scammers, and nothing is being done to stop them.  They still call and harass.  I wonder how many credit card numbers they have scammed from innocent people because no one is stopping them?

When I answered there was a taped message from "my" credit card company offering a lower interest rate of 6.9% or lower.  For more info, press 1.  For no further calls, press 2.  I pressed 2 and was routed anyway.
Man who answered asked if I pressed 1.
I said no.
He hung up on me.
Poor quality sound.

Just received a call today and they left no message.  Called back and prompted #2 to not be called back and was called immediately back again by a man with an accent.  We are on the do no call list and I am getting quite tired of these calls so I am going to report them to my attorney generals office. Also getting calls about First Harrison Bank wanting info and this is a big scam so if you get the call please do not give out any info.

Received a call from this number and it was an automated voice wanting me to push 1 to connect to a service rep.  Well, for one thing, there have been scams in the past where pushing 1 will allow them to use your number to call internationally or make long distance calls that could be billed to you.  Didn't chance that!  I did not participate in any of their shenanigans because if it was really my credit card company, they would know to identify themselves and would know that I had better be able to call the number on the back of my card and still get ahold of the same company.  I believe this to be a scam or very underhanded way of doing business.

10:08 am 5/25/10: Just received a call from 1-402-982-0763.  The caller id displayed "Liborgdotcom".  We did not pick up and when the answering machine clicked on they hung up.  I blocked the number but I'm sure they have lots of other numbers.   Haven't had many calls like this for a while, but from my records ( I sent a long list to PA State Attorney General's office last year) the calls started around this time last year.

Telemarketer
Called me to lower my interest rates.  When I asked which credit card, he said MC and VISA.  When I asked which of my banks held these cards, he said your lending bank.  When I asked him what is the name of the bank, he hung up.  I filed a report on donotcall.gov, and then got to this site after doing a google search for the number.  If they call back, I will tell them to take me off the list.  These people are relentless!
