I got a call from this number today. No words just a wierd sound. It made me think that it must have been one of the Deceptocons ...

Just rec'd 2 calls from that number 403-444-0486 - 1st one at 3:48pm didn't answer & I don't have voicemail.  At 3:49pm another call from 212-345 ?? didn't answer & then again at 3:50 the 403-444-0486.  I also have a rogers phone.

I just got a call. No message left.

I got a call from this number yesterday and today.

I believe its Rogers Wireless with some BS free phone scam.

Weeiird called me too

Called my cell, nobody  answered, called back but it didn't ring.

Missed a call from this number, got a 5 minute voicemail filled with silence.

Called rogers billing and they said it was a scam. Don't talk to them because you will get charged long distance feas, its an Alberta phone number.

Alright I'm going to vent my frustrations...
Got a call from this number, actually 3 simultaneously. They are obviously using an outbound dialer. When it finally connected I demanded to know who was calling. The guy was speaking too close to his mic and it didn’t help I was in traffic. He swore up and down he was calling from rogers wireless. He was phoning about an offer for a free cell phone, and asked how many accounts I currently had with rogers. This set off alarm bells, and I told him if he was calling from rogers he should have that information. I demanded to speak with a supervisor, and he kept insisting that I needed a good reason to speak with one. Apparently even my swearing at him didn’t make him think I should speak with a supervisor. I started the voice recorder on my phone at some point. The guy had a thick east Indian accent. I asked if I was to call and complain, making a personal complaint against him what could I use to identify him, and he gave me the number vo5921 and said to call rogershelp.

I phoned them and got transferred to tech support somehow, who then transferred me to customer service, who said I should speak with fraud, and fraud was currently closed. Called fraud, they said it didn’t look like rogers was calling from that number and asked if I gave them any information. I hadn’t. They said there wasn’t anything they could really do. I offered to send them the voice recorded portion of the call, but that department doesn’t communicate via email. Overall, I’m a fairly irritated about the situation.

I'm also a Rogers customer and have been getting these calls for the past week. I guess I'm 'lucky' in that I've only had 3 in that time frame. At least I know not to answer them.

Called Rogers today. They said the charges would be removed but they haven't got a clue about what's really happening. It may be a rogue employee who got a hold of a lot of cell phone numbers and is trying to pull some sort of scam  which makes me wonder how safe my other information is. I'm also wondering if it's one person or a group. The guy that called me had an East Indian accent but I don't remember the name he gave if he gave one at all. I have had 3-12 calls a day for about a week now on three seperate cell phones all from 403-444-0486 I don't know what to do besides just not answer. Whoever this is is very persistant.

I have many friends on rogers getting these calls, I have blocked them from my call manager so there is no risk of any numbers on my account being contacted.

It is defintately not Rogers themselves, though it could be a Rogers agent/reseller that has decided to go rogue, what they are offering is available through any given dealer or rogers video store, so it maybe be a rogue reseller trying to rack up mass commision.

The commision on a Family Plan is very high.

Called numerous times today -- first time answered to dead air, 2nd two i let go to VM (No message left). I am also on the rogers network (On a Voice / Blackberry Data plan if it makes any difference).

Just received this call on my phone and googled the number to see what it was and got this site as the first result. I'm with Rogers as well. The call was just dead air, no one talking.

Just got a call from this number too. Weird. Called back and reached a busy signal. Must be a scam.

i got a call from a guy with an east indian accent last night as well....told me i had qualified for a free cell phone (he gave a specific model number) and it would be a new phone number/ second line that i could give to another member of my family.  he started asking who else lives with me, how many accounts i have with rogers, if i'm the primary bill payer, etc.  all questions that seemed like if he was ACTUALLY calling from rogers, he'd already have the answers to.  i repeated "not interested" a few times and he started getting pushy with me, demanding to know why i didn't want to sign up for the offer so i just hung up on him.

I got a call from this number 8 times today.  6 time it was 1 minute apart!  2 at 9 pm at night...It's pretty annoying....was out with friends and my phone just kept on ringing...

Called me twice with no voice. Crazy.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!1, i can't believe that my bill from Rogers came to 800 dollars because this stupid number called me a four weeks ago and offered me a free phone and then i said i did not need it cuz im leaving for Asia, and he then offer me a "great" long distance call offer, to call to China for 3 cents a minute, i was so happy and i said yes. i left the phone with my boyfriend who called me from the cell directly and now my bill is 800-1000 dollars.....

GJing- They acctualy sent you the phone? thats scary, because I said yes to it to, but they called back and said they changed my plan (which I told them not to do), so I was very angry and was in a bad mood that day, so after alot of swearing and yelling he told me he would change it all back.

But now today I am getting strange calls again, but not answering since im in class.

I'm worried about this, I can't afford to be scammed. Low income student.

I just got one a short time ago.  Although I am with Telus (most appear to be Rogers) it seems like an auto-dialer, and they are going through banks of cellular numbers to try to generate business.  My phone rang twice, and hadn't left a voicemail. As soon as this happened (never getting calls from out of province...ever) I did a search.  Sad, when people do this type of thing.

F***ing Indian scammers.  Took a look at their bs website. there's no other contact # other than the one they call from and don't answer when you call back. It's a shame that wireless network operators like Rogers etc.. won't or can't be more helpful and block these f***ing irritating call center #s. Everyone should go to their stupid site and write spam emails back to them and bombard them.  Bastards.

my phone logged the inbound call at 9:57, well after this guy's alleged 8 o'clock local closing time, and well after Bell's sales line's 9 oclock closing time. will be following up in the morning.
