I've been called by this number every business day for a month now.  It is collections agency trying to collect from someone whom I've never met.  When I tried to explain this to the agent, she told me to, "Shut up.  You're lying just like everyone lies when we try to collect from losers like you." And then, surprise, she hung up on me without another word.  I had the number traced to the Van Ru Credit Corporation of Atlanta, GA. Well, I called back, waited on the line, and asked the customer service agent to remove my number from their records.  This is my 3rd contact with the company and the first person with whom I've spoken who was not unpleasant and actually gave her name.  Here's to hoping.

i have recived my phone bill for the first time and this number has been called back but the funny thing is i dont know the area code nor do i have caller id on my phone so i dont know how this number has been called on my phone. if someone knows who this is please let me know thank u

Send them this "Drop Dead" letter VIA certified mail and request a return receipt. Keep copies of everything you send. If they continue calling after you have written proof they have received it, they can face fines of up to $1,000.00 PER violation.

This is a collection agency. They are calling me at least 2 or 3 times a day for a bill that isn't even mine. I have never heard of the person they are looking for, I just happen to have the last name of the person owing the bill. I have explained to them every time they call that they have the wrong person and they agree to stop calling me but within a few hours they are calling again. They refuse to give me their address so I can submit in writing to stop harassing me for this other person's bill. How do I get them to stop?

Repeat calls 2-3 times day for last month but on sporadic basis--hang up or no answer.  got recording when called I called the number.

Called several times a day. When picked up would hang up. Last time called spoke to somebody who started asking personal questions without identifying who/why they wanted the information. After I question her she got very defensive and said she'd be calling back. Sound really fishy to me.

The same person has called thre times today.  The last two times that they called, they asked for a different peron.  None of the people that they asked for lived at this number.  I don't even know the names.

I spoke with AT&T and of course they were not any help, they stated there is nothing they can do about this, and nor could they give me information to the person or business this number is assisted to.  My number is listed on National Do Not Call Registry.
