Detective Beasley called and said I had a check fraud and felony charge for a cashnow online place..checking in with the bbb to see if this is real or not

This lady called me at work said that I needed to pay $580.00 by 1pm or i would be arrested and that i had committed a felony. Stated that i had money deposited into my account and that i didnt pay it back. I called my bank and I didnt even have an account with them when she stated that I had this "check" deposited so i called her back and explained to her that I had vertified with my bank if said check was deposited and it in fact was not. When i told her that I was not paying anything and I would gladly wait for whoever this person was that was going to arrest me come to my place of work she hung up.

My daughter called to tell me some woman by the name of Ms. Thomas called and accused me of check fraud.  She left her name and the telephone number (404.462.1718).  I called the number to get the name of her company.  I believe the name of the company mentioned in her voice mail was "State Data Processing."  

I believe this is a scam! Reputable collection agencies cannot call people accusing them of check fraus.  They also cannot make threatening calls.  It is against the law.

I received a missed call in the early morning from this number. I called back with a lady yelling about some investing and her name was Rachel Collins. Didn't tell me anything asks for my name to explain everything, so I told her my name than she hung up.. Very rude.

Got a call from this number (woman investigator - didn't catch her name) who said she would be filing fraud charges against me if I did not call her back by 11am.  First of all, I have worked extensively with debt collectors in the past year to fix my credit, I know what debt I have and how to handle those collecting it.  I have worked with financial advisors and lawyers to ensure I'm doing everything properly on my end, as well as the debt collectors end.  This woman is NOT following the law.  By reading a lot of your posts, and hearing that she is calling friends and relatives is the first sign of SCAM.  Secondly...on my message, she threatens to come get me and if I don't call back, that is my waiver of counsel and a trial....no honey, that is not how the legal system works.  I know the debt I have left (which isn't much).  What I get in the mail and what is on my credit report is what I am paying.  DO NOT fall for this....and if you do answer...the first thing you ask for is a written document stating this debt.  If they don't want to provide it, ask for an address you can send a certified letter.  If they won't provide that, tell them you have documented the conversation and they can go ahead and file whatever they need to so you can also bring charges against them. I would also tell them you are forwarding her phone number to your local police dept for harassment.  Hope this helps!

Got the same call.  Identified herself on my voice mail as "investigator Rachel Collins" and that I was being brought up on fraud charges.  Knew it was not a legitimate company and a scam, so I did not bother calling her back.  Legitimate companies will validate the debt via mail.  Idle threats and intimidation.  They call your friends, co-workers and relatives hoping to "scare them to death".  They can be sued.  Report them.

Rachel Collins called a relative of mine this afternoon, stating I was being brought up on fraud
charges, scared him to death...and, also has a message on my home phone threatening the same
thing. I called back twice and got Dana Clark bad check division...not calling back...can't get ahold
of anyone. The message on my phone said they are in Tennessee. This phone number is traced
to Atlanta Georgia?!?

Received 2 seperate calls from this number within one hour. Same thing, an Investigator Rachel Collins. The first call she left a voicemail asking about a woman i didnt know and said it was about a fraud case against me. I returned her call and told her the case number and told her i didnt know the person and she said my number would be removed. 45 minutes later she called me back to ask about a different gentleman and acted as if she didnt even recall talking to me within the last hour. I was unable to get any information out of her, but she definitely got an ear full from me.

This person called a relative of mine insisting on talking to me. I called back and got a voicemail. The next day she called me on the line I used to call her back apparently from caller ID. She asked for my name which I refused to give. She became defensive after I told her I had googled her. I just hung up. Scam.

I've received threatening phone call from a lady name Katie Collins

A lady from this number called me at work also saying that a check from Summit Group had been placed in my bank account on 2/20/09 for an amount of $580.00 and when the Summit Group tried to retrieve the check back they couldn't because of insufficient funds. When I asked her to fax me the documentation on this situation because of my old bank having no records of the deposit or attempted withdrawal she shouted we couldn't send it and we'll just see you in court and hung up (very professional right).

got a call on business phone from this number. Some lady identify herself as "Investigator Rachel Collins." couldn't tell me why she had called. Asked if there has been a case number left earlier. We never received any case number. When I told her this was a business she say "Have a nice day" and hangs up.
