They called me. What do they want from me?

I was in a car accident on Friday and got a call from JD on Monday. The same MO. I'm glad I had the since to google him before giving him a call.

Please call the State Bar of Georgia - all of you who have received calls from this guy.  This kind of contact violates Georgia bar rules and it needs to be reported.  Please call the State Bar at (404) 527-8700 to report any contact from this guy or any other runner who contacts you after an accident.

I got several calls from this JD he leaves voice messages stating I am entitled to further compensation from the car accident.  His number is blocked says private caller, when you call back he has a voice message set up on the phone again same as all complaints no company name, sounds like the background is a empty building (echo).  I had good sense to google the person name and number and my husband and I have read all the complaints.  This guy should be stopped.

This guy is an illegal "runner" for unscrupulous attorneys.  His real name probably isn't even John Davis.  If you are really in need of an attorney following an automobile collision in which you were seriously injured, always seek a referral from a friend or family member first.  If you hire a personal injury attorney, always check references, comments from prior clients, and/or ethics ratings on a site like avvo.com or martindale.com.  The Georgia Bar's website is www.gabar.org.  You can check there to see if an attorney has ever been disciplined or suspended from the practice of law.  If an attorney won't take the time to sit down with you at an initial intake conference (instead of having a paralegal or other assistant take down your information and the facts of your case), then there is a good chance that attorney may also not find the time to return your calls when you are seeking a status update on your case.  There are plenty of good personal injury attorneys out there, and many of them do not advertise because they feel it is not proper.  Hiring an attorney to represent you is an experience that can be very rewarding or very discouraging, depending on how much time you put into selecting the right attorney.  Keep in mind that in a serious personal injury case, it takes more than "one call" to resolve the matter, and the road to full and complete compensation for your injuries can be long and arduous.

This guy is a runner for a shady attorney who can't find cases any other way b/c he is that bad of a lawyer.  I wish someone would accept the call, set up a meeting, get his real name and business card and then REPORT HIM TO THE STATE BAR OF GEORGIA (www.gabar.org).  He will be disciplined and the case will be forwarded to the Solicitors Office for criminal prosecution (yes, what he is doing is illegal).  

Attorneys like this do a disservice to all individuals who have been harmed by someone else.

Same here, just got a message from him he left me a voice message.  He does not tell you what he wants or what company he is with.  Before I saw this post I called him back and again, had to leave a message just like some of you have said...haven't gotten a call back...definately won't answer the phone!

The part that I don't understand about this JD clown is that he's been calling me for the past week at least twice a day and I have not responded to any of his calls! Any NORMAL person with common sense knows that is you continuously keep calling someone and they are not picking up LEAVE THEM ALONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got the same call this evening; three within 30 minutes. I was in a car accident yesterday.
This guy is an idiot. Hasn't he ever heard oh Google?  After all these years you'd think he have a better pitch or at least get a new phone number.

This man just called my husbands cell phone asking for me, which I thought was odd in itself. Then he says " I saw you were in an accident in Clayton County yesterday and it was the other persons fault." I told him I havent been in an accident since 2003 and that Ive been living in Milwaukee, WI for over a year now. I asked him where he got my information from and he cut me off, and screamed at me " DONT WORRY ABOUT IT! IF ITS NOT YOU THEN DONT WORRY ABOUT IT!" and hung up on me. Who is this fool? and how the hell is he getting any of our information? Shady shady!

John Davis left several messages for me within a couple of days after my accident. The call came from a blocked number. He never left a company name, only his name and phone number and that his call was in regards to my recent accident. I chose to call him back and he stated he is with Marietta Legal Services. He asked if I was aware I was entitled to pursue compensation for car damages or injuries. I said yes and indicated that I already have legal counsel. Upon that statement he said thank you for your time and hung up.

same story... 18 hours since the accident... unsolicited "HELP"   i cant get a rental car or a police report for 5 days but "john davis" has my freaking phone number !!!  UGH

I received a call from John Davis also in regards to an accident.  Thank you all for posting this information online.  I was not going to call him back since it seemed so shady.  Now I know my hunch was right!

Got into an accident on Friday, John Davis called me from a blocked number on Monday. He left a very vague message, and I called him back thinking it was about insurance (DUMB CHOICE). This guy is an ambulance chaser...was very rude. "you're entitled to a pain and suffering settlement"....
yah....thanks, buddy---but, no thanks.
Hung up on me in 2 seconds!

This person called me LESS THAN 24 HOURS after my accident. Is there a leak at Atl PD? Why does he have access to my info for his personal business? SHADY.

Same M.O. it happened to me about  10 minutes ago. Thanks to this site I don't have to wonder who he is or if he is legit. Sounds like he has been at this for quite some time.

I was involved in an accident this past Friday. Today is Monday and JD hit me today with the same vm that everyone has described here. Calls from a blocked number (which I absolutely do not answer under any circumstances, period). I have never been contacted by a legitimate business from a blocked number. So he leaves this message stating only his name and phone number. By the way, whats the point of calling from a blocked number if you are just going to give it out in the message anyway? Everything about the vm seemed sketch to me so I popped the number he gave 4045525136 into Google and voila here I am reading through all of the other posts from his would be targets.

My only question is, what is his business? Is he trying to promote rip shod legal service? Phishing? Does anyone have any experience with doing business with the infamous Mr. John Davis.

"Jon Davis" called me under a restricted number 5 times in a row within a 10 minutes period. All these calls came late at night and didnt give much detail. As stated above after two days of me not returning his calls he finally stated what he wanted. " its about money other than the car repair." Thinking that he was talking about a depreciation check, I called him and he started with the above bs. As soon as I told him I had no injuries he said ok and goodbye. What a RACKET!!!

He'll keep calling, although he hung up on me the one time I answered. I'd begun saying, "Mr. Davis, you've called me several times, and I was purposely not returning your calls . . ." He gets our phone numbers from the accident report. My insurance agent said Mr. Davis probably works for a group of attorneys who are looking for business.

Thanks to y'all I know what this unsolicited call was about. I was involved in a car accident this past weekend, and the other driver was cited. I had no idea how he got a hold of my number and he keeps calling. The voice mail creeped me out. How can we stop John Davis ?

I was involved in a car accident this past weekend, and the other driver was cited. Within the past 24 hours, I've received two unwanted and unsolicited phone calls from John Davis "regarding the accident." The second call mentions the possibility that I would be entitled to collect "monies" other than car repair. He left 404-552-5136 as a call back number. He doesn't identify himself with a company or title. His voice mail sounded odd, and these posts confirm my suspicions.

Got hit in Saturday...got a call from Mr. Davis on Monday.  No thanks.

Same routine.  JD called my home line and left a message asking to call back at 404-552-5136.  I assumed from jump street he was an ambulance chaser.  We already had an attorney, so not to worry, but don't take this guy serious.  Top attorney's don't advertise, or make cold calls.

This SOB called my house also.  What worries me is I stupidly put my social on the police report.  The Rockdale County Sheriff's office is shady themselves.  They used a whiteout roller to white-out my social and the social of the other driver.  I wonder if he phishing.  Good thing I already froze my credit.  So suck on that John Davis.  You might as well have just gone with the standard John Doe.

I received an unknown call from John Davis asking me to call 404-552-5136 regarding an accident. I have no clue how he got my number. Now he won't stop calling me and has left 2 messages to call him back. I did call him back once, and the voice message seemed very shady. I hope he will stop calling me, but I'm glad this information is online about him!

and a couple of days later John Davis called me twice within 1 hour from a blocked number. He left a message with only his name and number. I did not call back but he called again from 404-552-5136. I asked him how he got my number and he said from the police department. He said I was entitled to pain and suffering. I told him there was no pain and suffering and then he cut me off and yelled and said THANK GOD FOR THAT- HAVE A NICE DAY and hung up.

Tuesday 08/04/09 - I received a phone call from this JOKER exactly described as above.  Called from a blocked number, left me a message to call him back at 404-552-5136, but never answered.  He then called me again, I answered the phone, he told me that he saw I was involved in an accident and that I was entitled to pain and suffering.  When I told him that I thought calling from a blocked #, and only giving out his name was "SHADY BUSINESS" - he cut off me, raised his voice, threw a tantrum and said "WELL DONT WORRY ABOUT IT THEN!" and hung up on me!  This guy is a JOKE, don't waste your time.  Also, he doesn't appear on the State Bar of Georgia as a licensed attorney - BEWARE!!

I just got a call from this guy too. He left a message as John Davis and to call him regarding my accident.

I received a call from a John Davis at 404-552-5136.  The number came up as a private caller.  When I called him back, he didn't answer, but called me right back.  He told me that he was with Atlanta Leagal Service and it came up that I had an accident on yesterday.  I asked him why he was calling me, because I had not called him.  He said that I was entitled to pain and suffering.  I told him that I was not interested.
