i received a call from humphrey's in atlanta (404-719-5886) about a payday loan i asked him to send me paperwork he just kept tellin me they have all kinds of paperwork on me so i told him again to send me something to show proof if it was legit. he said he would email it to me but still haven't seen anything. this brian dude that called me was very rude & a a***ole. he went as far as to threaten me telling me if i don't have $500 paid in 24 hours something else will be done. i dont take to threats as i told him then he hung up...

I got a call from Humphreys in Atlanta. payday loan collector phone number 404-492-7421 they are threatening me. what can I do. I am scared I am 67 years old and don't know if they are legitimate or not.

This same thing is going on with me as of right now Melissa young stated I owed a debt, Which I knew of as well but she was demanding that I paid immediately. I informed her that  I needed documentation, it wasn't sent till today and I still have not paid yet. I told her if they are planning to take me to court then to do so because at least then I would know it was legit. Initially I believed it because she knew my social which I will take care of that matter but the only documentation they would send me was an E-mail and it looks completely fake. I will go directly to the company that I owe period and report this company for fraud. I am so glad after doing my own research I saw these post.... and checked with the BBB to see if they were accredited. Do your own investigation first... the worst that can happen it that you pay from a court order at least you know it is not a scam....THEY ALMOST GOT ME but I don't take kind to threats :(

why would a collector take another bad check from you or your wife. You both gave a post dated check in order to be approved a pay day loan and that check clearly bounced, which is why this collection agency is calling you..about your hot check and unpaid pay day loan. Cearly you needed a financial bail out at some point and applied for a pay day loan. Pay your bills. How many times have you filed bankruptcy? Shame on you for trying to insinuate anything more than.

I got a similar call. !st I got a hang up from 770 872-7282. So I call the number back and got voice mail of Rossenberg and Assoc. A few hours later I got another call from 770-782-7282 and spoke with Melissa Young from Humphries and Associates. I made her spell it out...She said I have charges against me for Check Fraud. When I asked her for the information she asked me if I live in a certain city and I replied no. I then asked her for the information and said that I passed a bad check to Best Buy back on 1/31/2010 for $895.98. I pressed her for more information and when I asked for the check number she gave me some number that didn't sync up with my checks and then I pressed for more. She gave me a bogus account number and then rattled off a SSN #. When I asked her to repeat it she said she couldn't and I asked her why, then she started getting a little nasty and basically hung up after telling me to go and check my credit report and get back to them to clear things up. I did try to call back but got the same voice mail for Rosenberg and Associates....its a big scam to get you to divulge information...DO NOT GIVE THEN ANYTHING...but have fun playing the game.

They called me from number 770-872-7283 , originally they spoke with my mother and she thought it was the FBI so she called me freaked out, and she is recovering from cancer and didnt need that added stress. They had me talked into giving up information and my wife told me no under no circumstances to give them information until she did some investigating. When he called back I asked for any paperwork associated with this, as neither of us remembered taking out a loan. The information they did give us didnt add up, the address used was one from nearly 20 years ago, and  they said it was at a check cashing place and I went into the store. I have lived in Florida since 2007 and this all happened in February of 2008 and the date in question I was at work i had my boss pull invoices for that whole week. He got rude and said I would be arrested and extradited to Va. My wife found out through the Ftc web site that Payday loans are not prosecutable for check fraud because the loan company accepts a post dated check and that means the acknowledge the fact that the money is in not in the account at that time. Only civil proceedings are possible for this kind of loan. We filed a complaint with the FTC and are contacting the local authorities as well. An attorney said if you can get proof of the threat then they can sued themselves for unfair debt collection. They only wanted credit card numbers and were not equipped to accept any other type of payment. This sounded like a scam to my wife and I agreed with her. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE ANY INFORMATION OR CREDIT CARD OR BANK NUMBERS AND CALL AN ATTORNEY ASAP.

I received a call from the same 770 phone number from an Investigator Peterson.  I was not home and he divulged all of my information to my mother telling her that unless I paid the money that was owed a police officer would be at my house in an hour to arrest me.  The next day a woman from that number called and spoke w/my 13 year old daughter.  The first thing she told her was that "your mother is getting arrested for check fraud".  I know I owed a debt, and will pay it.  I am in the process of cleaning up my credit now.  I finally spoke w/Inspector Peterson and told him that I wanted something from him in writing.  He would not send me anything in the mail, but did send an "e-mail."  I am still leary of sending him any money because I spoke to the original pay day loan center I dealt with and a gentlemen there (very nice) told me that he gets calls like this 12 times a week, and to tell this Inspector Peterson that I will report him to the attorney general and my local authorities.

My parents actually received a call from this place saying the same thing. My social security # is being investigated, ignorantly I gave them my account information. Im going to fix that ASAP! It was Rosenberg and Associates, but the number was 770-872-7376, and i talked to two different people, one was an "Investigator Mathews". Don't believe them.

Any calls from this number where the person claims to be an investigator is a scam.
They will say they are an investigator who is contacting you about illegal activity connected to your social security number and to have your attorney or legal representative call them.
The call is from a collection agency who specializes in collecting out of state payday loans.
Suggest you ask them to send you their paperwork or document in writing.

I got a call from an investigator Hunt from this company Rosenberg and Associates about a paydayloan it didnt sound right to me so I hung up and did my own investigation.   I researched the  company and this  belongs to a Desmond A Humphries. I researched him  and find out this guy has been locked up for terroristic threats in  2009 listed under the  fulton county  sheriff.org listed under booking number  0911480... i could not believe this ... please check the company background before doing  business some of these collection agency is bogus
