Here is what you do:
Go to all the party's (Repubs,Demo's etc)  web sites and request them to DNC. Sign up for the political DNC list here:
http://stoppoliticalcalls.org/index.php

The next step is when one of them calls you, you go directly to their web page (most politicians have them) and send them a DNC request and give them the url of the Political DNC list and tell them to use it!

I've only had to do that once!  I've gotten no others but that one for years now.  It has helped a lot! The calls went from ringing off the hook during elections, to none!

PLEASE STOP!!!!!!!!!  CALLING MY HOME PHONE NUMBER, I HAVE TALKED WITH TWO PEOPLE, AND REQUESTED YOU STOP!!! CALLING MY NUMBER, I ALREADY GET THE MESSAGE!!!, THIS IS VERY RUDE, AND ANNOYING, DON'T YOU KNOW YOU TURN PEOPLE OFF, AND NOT ON BY BUGGING THEM ALL DAY,  "PLEASE STOP CALLING MY HOME NUMBER"

This was a telemarketer calling to ask for votes for Kasim Reed for mayor in Atlanta. They called me every hour on the hour with no message. I finally answered and told them to stop harassing me (and that, given the circumstances, I would NOT be voting for Mr Reed). They'll stop calling of you answer and tell them to stop.

Multiple calls over past 2-3 days. No message.

Calls up to 10 times each day.  ID shows Z-Tel Comm.  They will not stop calling.

Called 2 times today.  Left no message.

Same as these other commenters; this number called 3 times today.

caller ID list the caller as Georgia but no one answers
