They are a debt collector.  They left a message stating that I had a complaint filed against me and they were trying to keep it out of public view.  Whatever!  He said his name was Agent __________.  It's a scare tactic, plain and simple.  All debt that I have is extremely old, as my credit now is good.  It's most likely so old that the statute of limitations has most likely run out.

these people called my friend, whom we have used as a reference in the past for some financial loans and such...they claimed my husband had a check loan out, never paid it...said we had committed fraud, and wanted to know what she had to do with it...then they asked her for my husbands social security number, which she told them in no uncertain terms she would not give...so I called them back after blocking my number to get to the bottom of it...they gave me some song and dance about not being able to send me any sort of notice or explanation in writing (LIE) and that their office did not take payments...and in the next breath said they wanted me to pay via a Visa over the phone...which is it? I wanted something in writing to see if it was valid or not (PRETTY SURE NOT!!) and they refused...which is illegal. I finally hung up on the jerk and plan to make sure it gets reported to my state's consumer protection and the state's attourney general office...this is phishing, folks...because if it was a legit company and I had a debt, they would have to send me something in writing when I asked.

This is going on a second year of being harrassed by these people. I just got a call saying they needed to speak to my husband - on my cell phone no less. They said they could not speak to me about the reason for their call, but yet they said he left my phone number with them as a second reference. The phone number they gave me for him to call back is a new number not yet reported (but it is now!) The caller id on my phone came up with the number assoicated with another string. I'm getting sick of people stressing me out and making me lose my cool with them and inadvertantly with my husband.
