I had something similar to this last week.  My number was created in the last year as a google voice number.  It was the same last week.  The guy who said this is a skype phony number when someone calls a 404 number.  Well, last week it was a tell number for magic jack caller, and all the people BEING
called were magic jack users it eventually developed.  The call from a magic jack # DID NOT REGISTER AT ALL, only the time of the call.  It didn't say private, anonymous, or any of those old coverups from when someone dialed from a private number., no, instead it was blank.  BLANK.  Nothing but the time of the call.  I got the phone number you're all reporting on my magic jack phone.  I got nothing on two caller IDs I had hooked through my 404 area code Atlanta phone.  One showed that a call had been made at a time, but no number no nothing, just like in the magic jack experience last week.  We in the community figured out the person who called last week KNEW all the phones called were Magic Jack.  I have a confession, I'm using an OBI110 free internet router phone which has two google voice numbers tied to it.  This number above called the Atlanta area number, NOT the other one.  I'm wondering, are any or all of you using OBI110 free VOIP computer phones, which mate with your router after being hooked also to the OBI110, with numbers in the 404 area code.  If you're all using them, this is someone checking the OBI110 community.  If not, it is still a gamer who either enters the system by skype, OBI110, Magic Jack or another VOIP sips community internet phone. This could even be Obi checking on the quality of a service they're selling for a $44 one time charge at Amazon.com

Calling early in the morning and hung up!

I keep getting calls from this number and others just like it...just change last four digits.  Claiming they do business with my credit card company.  Wanted me to verify my name and last four digits of my account.   SCAM!!!!!  BEWARE

every  evenring i get calls from 404-974-9170 wanting to know if the head of the home is in and avail.?  claiming they are affiliated with the IRS.  they ever give any info or what this call is pertaining to???  appears to be a fradulent call!

Woke me up at about one o'clock in the morning on my cell.  Answered groggily; no response.  Hung up, went back to bed and rained down curses on whoever saw fit to disrupt the first sound sleep I'd had in days.  Have added contact named "Suspicious Call" for that number.

i just got a call from this number and she stated my name!!! said she wanted to schedule an appointmen with me because she heard i was good in bed. i live in south ga. but have an atlanta number. the female that called me had a very southern accent. IS THIS SOME KIND OF NON TRACEABLE PRANK LINE THAT IDIOTS CAN USE?????? im taking this s**t to my attorney in the morning!

These people called looking for little children to molest. I told them that there were no children here. They asked for the number of someone that has children they could call.

I just received a call from these "people" and they wanted to give my company a 'free listing". I told the guy that I was not interested and asked him how did he get my number...he then hung the phone up!. If international or local criminals can call random phone numbers and then hack into the system based on callers answering the calls we are all in big trouble. I always thought that since the phone lines used a switching technology calls could be "hacked" only if the hacker physically tapped into a line (wire tapping). I guess the weak link is that international calls rely on satellite transmissions, and that they have a way of intercepting and decrypting calls (assuming international calls aren't sent in the clear).

I keep recieving calls from this number as well. But I just recently bought a new cell phone that tells info about the calls. On my cell id it says senegal when this number calls. They have called me over a hundred times in the past 5 months. The police are tracking the number. The police stated that when they are found, they will be put in jail for atleast 10 years. I believe it is funny. All they say is hello and speak in another language after that. Senegal is located in the western part of Africa. The calling company shows up as verizon and the number has changed and this has happened many times. These ppl calling know how to change there number and voice. And they can choose the phone company. IF this number calls... DON'T answer it. They may be able to hack into lots of information. And they may be able to trace your calls or listen to them.

recieved a horrible call from this number. some man (or women 'muscling up her voice' called several girl friends or just friends who happen to be girls claiming i was gay. what is this number. does this mean this person (s) are calling from the ATL or could they be calling from somewhere else. i did a search and the number came up as an MCI number under the name DIANE. does anyone know what is going on here. i am concerned about how this person got all these numbers to call and the names of these women. there was no pattern with regards to whom they called. some where legitimate girl friends i had dated and others were just friends that were females. this is bizzare.

I wonder if this isn't possibly inmates in the Fulton County Jail trying  to call out!  Who knows.....

Have had several phone calls from this number from someone that says they are with a pharmaceutical company and wants me to refill my prescriptions through them.  I'm on the do not call list.  This person has left messages for me as well saying that they are offended that I will no longer answer their phone calls.  They also call from other numbers: 678-412-7500,404-974-9062, 404-537-0000, 404-974-9210, 678-212-3149, sometimes it is from a private number and other times it will show up as 9100000000.  I have saved all of the numbers so that I know not to answer the calls any longer.

got a call today from this number, and they tried to get social security number, and bank account info.

This individual called my home twice at approx. 12 midnight stating they were calling from China.  Sounds like a man that is trying to immulate a woman.

I was woken up on Saturday morning at 7:38 by a call phone 404-974-9170.  The call rang until it got my voicemail, then didn't leave one.  Needless to say, it makes me mad as hell.

I keep getting a call from this 404-974-9170.  They do not answer and I try and call back using caller ID  Get the recording that this number has been disconnected.

Got 7 calls from phone numbers, including this one, starting at 12:57am on 6/10 (404-965-1260, 404-965-1280, 404-974-9190, 404-974-9170, 404-974-9210).  No one is ever on the line.  I'm going to try to get these numbers blocked.

Got a call but left no msg what is up with people not leaving msgs i wish there was a way to block those people other than just ignoring them!!!! I do not answer a number i do not know so who ever you are you are wasting your time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People from that number called my home twice so far. The caller claimed that the computer I was using was in danger of being hacked. He wanted me to do something on my computer so that it would be "safe."  I told him that I would just rely on the antivirus software that I already have and hung up. I think that it is a new scam to trick people into enabling a remote access on their computer so that the caller will be able to access other people's computers (and have access to whatever is on the computers). Kind of mean to use a scare tactic, but that is one of the greatest fears--someone else getting access to your personal information and misusing it.

They called twice in a row and said I won gift cards from target.

I received a caller from this number saying that he was from the "College Finder". The person wanted to know if I was interested in going back to school. Asked me when I graduated and my date of birth. Then, I refused to offer anymore information. So, the person transferred me to a woman who enter my name in her computer and indicated that she would call back. Feeling suspicious I called the number and discovered that it was disconnected. What going on, here?
