Got text stating Dept Of Labor has limited my benefit card. Message sender was gomecf@messaging.sprintpcs (or so it said)& listed the first 6 numbers of my card in the text. I was given a number to call to reactivate my card. I called & an automated system came on and forst thing I was asked for was my 16 digit card number.Of course, I hung up. PLEASE BE AWARE OF THIS SCAM!!

The message stated "DepartmentOfLaborHasDeactivatedYourBenefitsCardStartingWith" and some random number.  No spaces in the message, yeah that sounds professional. Then it gave me this phone number to call.  Best part is i was sitting in a doctors office at that moment so for a second I actually was like "oh damn!"

I got a text message from xlbksw@messaging.sprintpcs.com saying that my debit card had been limited and I needed to call this number. Since I have no account with "Jefferson Credit Union" I'm assuming it's a fraud. I pulled the following message from the real Jefferson Credit Union. Here it is:

Phishing Alert!

Event Reminder
Got the text saying it was from dept of labor and my card was deactivated...went ahead to reactivate and the next day a large sum of money was withdrawn from my account!!!

Don't fall for it. If u get this text call your the # on the back of your card ASAP. Also, check your account for strange withdrawals, mine was made in California from "W.F.B". I never even been to Cali and I'm on unemployment living in NY!!! I'm broke! Now I'm in the process of trying to get my money back.
