I'm 94 years old. At my age it's (WHO RA, RA ) when the phone rings and leaves no message or name... My two dogs and me know it's treat time, we run to the kitchen. They sit up for a treat and i put on my Sherlock Homes cap, Then grab my big spy glass and search the internet for the number who called me. Phone number 1-405-283-8653  NO NAME OR NO MESSAGE !  I love it , at my age a phone call is a treat instead of a TREATMENT... I'm proud to know that i have solved 98.9% of my unknown phone calls threw the Internet and people like you. ( THANK YOU )  PS. You'd be proud too. All i can say.plus my 2 dogs of course,is (KEEP MY PHONE RINGING WE LOVE IT )

Phone number 405-283-8653 has called me twice, i did not answer the call, they left no message, only a phone  number, ( I DID NOT CALL BACK,I BLOCKED THEIR NUMBER ) I am on the  State  and Federal DO NOT CALL LIST,  I also stopped the Milwaukee Journal, Sentinel some time back. With the internet and your response ,,,,You  solved the phone number 405-283-8653 (IT'S THE MILWAUKEE JOURNAL,SENTINEL )  Now i can sleep at night. THANK YOU SO MUCH....Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Calls me, leaves no message. Must not be important enough for them to take the time to leave a message, offer me a deal or give me more info, and then leave a call back number so that I can decide if I care or not. Oh wait. That was the old days. Now these robo-callers just simply call and call and call. I'm quite sure that the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal sold my info to these telemarketers because I recently stopped my subscription due to delivery problems, rate hikes, and generally poor customer service when I would call to ask for re-delivery. If they are hoping for me to re-subscribe through some telemarketer out of state, they should probably fire their marketing VP and the entire staff who is obviously trying to save this sinking ship. Maybe this news rag could do a feature story on this practice, and maybe, just maybe, a rookie reporter could show upper management that this practice does nothing more than to irritate people !!!  Long live USA Today and the Wall Street Journal.

This number calls me everyday and never leaves a message. I finally answered the phone and before they could speak I told them that if they wanted to speak to someone to leave a message when they called. If not, stop calling. I haven't had a call in three days now.

I just called the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel and had myself put on Do Not Call list for Metro News Service.  I also called their attention to this webpage and how annoying these calls are.  

I've started getting at least three calls a day from this number on my WORK phone!  I never answer, and they never leave a message.  ANNOYING!

I subscribe to the Milwaukee Urinal and they still call me!

405-283-8653 has called five times now - I have resorted to blocking the number through AT&T U-Verse.  Guess I should have done that two days ago...

I received a call from 405-283-8653 on 8/19/2013 at 8:03 PM indicating "Out Of Area." I did not answer the call, and my Internet research indicates that it was Metro News Service calling to attempt to get me to re-subscribe to the Milwaukee Journal/Sentinel. Apparently this company handles sales for newspapers all over the country.

I'm in Milwaukee and the same thing happened to me. I get these calls several times a day. Just start a few days ago. I recently cancelled my journal sentinal subscription. Maybe related?

I am getting sick and tired of whomever owns this number continuously calling me 5 or more times a day...I do not know this number and refuse to answer when they call but they never leave a voice mail message, name or number....I get tired of having to get up every time my phone rings to see who it is before I answer just to find out it is another from this number....If this doesn't stop I will file harrassment charges against them.

This service was selling newspaper subscriptions, which in my case was for the Milwaukee Journal.

They have been calling me a few times a day. when. i pick up they hang up on me. frustrating . whY can i do to have them stop?

I get calls from this number at least 5 times a day! I am also going to use this number for purchasing purposes to drive them crazy !

I am in Wisconsin and have been called several times a day for past few weeks.  All hours.  Same thing for me as above... when I call I get all "circuits are all busy" computer voice.  I am on the do not call list.  My wireless provider lets me block a limited amount of numbers for free so I've added this one.  Only way to stop it it seems.  Frustrating!

I've been receiving calls from this group several times a day. I took some advice from these posts and called my local newspaper (with whom I USED TO have a subscription). They agreed to put my number on the do not call list. Let's hope solution works!

This number has been harassing me for the last week or two. Last night my husband used his phone to continue to call back this number. Sometimes it was just a busy signal but other tiems he got to someone's voicemail. So he harassed them for a while, leaving messages. Anyway, one time it said it was metro news and another time it was someone's name, Chris something. So I searched on the internet and found a Chris something (I can't remember what the last name is now, but we found the right one.) that is associated with this Metro news company. So I emailed them to stop calling. Someone emailed me back to ask for my phone numer so they can take me off the list. I doubt that it will do any good and I already received another call from them today. But this is the info that was on the reply email to me:

BE AWARE: Phn# 405-283-8653 - I TRACED this Phn # to a Telemarketing Dept. within the Company of "COX CABLE", the largest cable, internet & phn Company serving Oklahoma City, OK. I was also able to pinpoint the exact location from where the call originated (within 500ft)! I thought of how to stop them, but also PUNISH them for calling cell phones, wasting innocent people's costly peak time minutes! Personally, I'm fortunate to have unlimited minutes, texting & data (Internet), but MANY people DON'T! I've blocked them from my T-Mobile HTC One S 4.0/4G ICS Android Cell Phn! I've also reported (filed an 'Informal Complaint' with the FCC on the Internet)! VERY EASY & SIMPLE TO DO & doesn't cost Anything! If COX CABLE TELEMARKETING is calling your landline (home or work phn) STILL file an Online Complaint with the FCC! www.FCC.gov ! Calling THEIR # back & leaving messages is pointless & u will work yourself to death to no avail!! I've taken the liberty to post their exact location in OKC, viewable by Google Maps or Google Earth! I got a call from them & when I answered I got a fast busy signal. Juast as I did when I tried to return the call to tell them to not call me again. I am on the DNC list.

this number calls my phone almost every day, sometimes twice a day - who owns this company? from now on, i'm going to use their phone number as my phone number when i make purchases. i have left dozens of messages,  with no success, and i have no idea how to block a phone number, but i will disseminate their number and continue to leave messages on their line. as soon as i figure out who sold my # to them i will never buy from them again.

I keep getting unwanted robo calls from 405-283-8653. I have returned the call and only get an automated answering service.  I left an explicit msg on there telling them to quit calling me but that has not worked.  Wish I could talk to a real person and give them a piece of my mind.
