Per caller i.d., I am also being harassed with daily calls from "Children's Cancer".  I don't think they are associated with the American Cancer Society.   I refuse to make any donations or give any personal information to individuals or groups who try to make a buck by harassing me.  For those who are unfamiliar with some of the screwy "Do Not Call" rules, keep in mind 1.) if you make a donation to any charity (legit or not), they can contact you with no restrictions for one year because you are now doing business with the group/charity;  and 2.) charities are exempt from all of the "Do Not Call" restrictions.  It doesn't seem to matter if the group/charity who is constantly calling/harassing consumers, is a legit charity or just another scam to take the money and personal information of well-meaning consumers.  Sometimes the information consumers give out over the phone is worth more money than a one-time donation.  If consumers really want these calls to stop, 1.)  Don't wait for the government to strengthen the current DNC laws ...altho' it would be nice if every consumer who has been harassed by telephone solicitors, would band together and try to get the current DNC rules revised.; 2.) STOP making donations to anyone who contacts you over the phone unless you are certain the caller is representing a legit charity.  Remember, scam callers will lie to get your money and personal information.;  and 3.)  If it sounds too good to be true, with rare exception, it is.  Reality check:  There is no such thing as a "Free" vacation, trip, t.v. etc.

You couldn't be more wrong. Even the charity's can get into trouble when the calls get to be harassment and cross the lines.

No matter what, they keep calling. Nothing can be done about it, so don't bother reporting them. Just ignore them.

Number calls multiplie times a day. Have asked to quit calling on four occasions yet they continue.

This - like the majority of telephone solicitors - is a scam.

PLEASE:    DO NOT GIVE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION  to any business, organization or charity over the phone unless you are absolutely certain of who you are talking to.  Telemarketers have been known to misrepresent themselves to get your money and personal information.  

DO NOT MAKE CHARITABLE DONATIONS if a telemarketer is involved.  Instead, contact your favorite charity directly to make a donation.  Ask the charity representative if they buy and sell donor information - you might be surprised how common this practice is.  Don't be afraid to tell the charity you do not want them to share or sell your personal information.  If they will not agree to keeping your donor information confidential, then consider giving to another charity.  
As long as current laws make it easy for telemarketing firms, scammers, and other bottom-feeders to make a lot of money by preying on U.S. consumers, this problem will continue to worsen.  Most consumers have had to deal with an aggressive, bullying telemarketers who will call repeatedly, at all hours of the day and night.  Most consumers have been cussed out, screamed at and hung-up on by telemarketers who refuse to take no for an answer  THIS IS HARASSMENT. Contact your state and federal representatives and ask for stricter telemarketing laws, the enforcement of current laws and harsher penalties for telemarketers who abuse and deceive consumers.

These @s$$holes must really be cleaning up off the generosity of gullible Okies, but fortunately I enjoy asking them why there isn't a fund for adult cancer.  They get really irritated, and I hang up on them.

When they call just pretend your the attorney generals office. ( hello attorney generals office how may I help you) they hang up and don't call back.

November 27, 2013.  Received calls from this 405-563-9002 number 5 times this month   Sometimes caller ID displays the number only, sometimes it displays "Childrens C" with number,  sometime it displays the number and "Wanette" (a city in Oklahoma).  Researched prefix 563 in 405 area code. The result was:  1-405-563 Ymax Communications Corporation, Oklahoma City landline.  Caller hangs up whenever we pick up the receiver, and never leaves voice message.  The calls have been consistently between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.

Funny how the do not call list does not work any more.

Previous blogs are correct when you say that "charities" and non profits do not call soliciting you for money, much less credit card number. And that those cold callers don't give more than $.05 of every dollar collected to the named charity. Just remember that the people who do call you regardless of callerID name are the marketing firm. Sometimes a marketing firm IS hired by the charity whose name does appear in CNAM. If that charity-non-profit has gotten to the point that they hire marketing firms, then they may be on their way out of business. And with the plethora of charities to give to such as St. Jude's and Shriners' Burn Hospitals, there are plenty of outlets to donate to. And most people will probably agree--I give to the charity I want to, not to someone or something who cold calls you.

Rude rude rude...I asked to be removed from the call list and they hung up.  Guess I will have to report them to the Attorney Generals Office.

This number called me today.  The caller id said Childrens chance.  I told them I give money to other charities and they never call me on the phone.  The lady said could you find even 20 to give to this charity.  I told her I would pass it along to my accountant that handles my charities and she hung up on me.  So I'm thinking it is a total scam.

Report this people to the FTC, they are skamers, never give your money to anyone through the phone.

Whatever you do - don't fall for it. Give to either the Cancer Society itself . Apparently this company is also attached with the Breast Cancer Society as well, which only gives 15% of its donations. They pocket the rest. That number is 918-213-0750. They've been using both numbers to try and scam me. Hell, this other number that shows up on my caller ID numerous times daily, 918-534-8933 might be attached as well!

They called my landline at 10:54am and hung up on my machine.  They will always get my machine because I will never answer.  It's some scammer outfit, anyway.

They called wanted my credit card told them I would give 20 pay day they said let us put you on list so won't call again but they keep calling tired of the liars

This woman calls every day for my husband. Very rude to me, won't let me respond and refuses to stop calling. I am so angry with her, this is harassment!

Didn't recognize - Didn't answer.

I've received two calls this week from this number.  If I don't recognize the number I answer then push the # key and hang up.. I'm trying to mimic my call block tone.. I only have 29 and it's full right now.  I do give to  St. Jude but not over the phone.

They called 4/23 at 10:39 am and didn't leave a message.

No asociation calls asking for money, this number is from ok city, don't let any body fool you. Be advised and never ever give money to someone who calls you, they are thefs.

They have called 3 times in a week and ask for my husband or just hang up.  Never a message.  I would like this to stop it is very annoying.  They never say anything about Children's Cancer...my husband had to call them back to find out what it was.  It shows up as a cell phone on CID.  I give to American Cancer Society and St. Jude.

caller ID said Children's Cancer. It may  be legit but I have heard that the one you should give to is American Cancer Society and I do not think that organization contacts you by phone. I do not give by phone and   I decide whaich organizations I give to. I did not answer the call.
