You send them your old phone and they tell you it is worth nothing then they resell them.

One thing to be very careful of is the chip inside has all your information. Be sure to remove that.

Some companies collect the phones and sell them to the companies that provide free phone service to poor people.

When I asked her what they did with the phones she could not give me an acceptable answer so I said no.

It's PaceButler, but I'm surprised to see so many negative comments. I manage IT for a company and sent PaceButler a couple small shipments of phones and received payment for those phones very timely. I have since started using another service called Gazelle because the payout is better, but that's the only reason and I had no issues while using PaceButler. Since I sent them those few shipments though I've been on their call list so I get a voicemail from PaceButler every 3-6 months asking if we happen to have any more phones to ship them.

I have never understood why any legitimate business would suppress their Caller ID information.  Your company just called me, showing as "Unavailable."  I didn't answer it.  I NEVER answer anonymous calls - partly because if I did answer them, I'd spend half my day on the phone.  Also I can't think of ONE GOOD BUSINESS REASON why a legit company would suppress their identity.

If you are on the up and up, you should tell your bosses that virtually all anonymous go unanswered these days because of rampant phone abuse.  Sales might even pick up if you identified yourselves.

Yes they do give something for old , non working cellphones as i received a satisfactory amount for my cellphones.

I was not able to receive my check even after a week of sending my phones.I had a brief conversation with an employee of the company and he told me that the check will be delivered within 4 days.On 3rd day i received my check.They fulfilled their commitment.

I came to know that pace butler gives money for crap phones. so i decided to send them some phones which were of no use.after some days i received  a letter from them telling me they have recycled my phones n that will be used in donating books to the needy. not bad.....

I am quite happy with their responses to my queries related to my phones. Yes i can say that i am quite satisfied after talking to pacebutler.

I agree Completely.  I don't care if they are legit or not.  If you are stupid enough to buy from a telemarketer you deserve all the phone calls you get.  It's people like you that make all of us suffer.  I would rather throw them in the trash than let a telemarketer make a penny off of me.

No, not "darn near every company" uses cold calling. In fact, it's increasingly rare and most legitimate businesses have long since abandoned it, because it puts them in the same sewer as all the phone scammers. If you assume that a cold call is a SCAM, you will be right 99.9% of the time.

And what about the other .1%? IT DOESN'T MATTER.

Now hold on a minute.  While I don't EVER condone repeat phone calls when asked to be put on a company's "do not call list" and rudness is simply unacceptable in any case, cold calling is a perfectly legitimate tool in sales circles.  I, personally, could never do it but darn near every company that sells something uses cold calling/telemarketing techniques.  

That said, I would never simply buy something or use a company's services without thoroughly investigating them, no matter how nice they were  to me.  If I were interested, I'd ask for information and consider getting back to them.  Assuming the caller is legit just because they were polite and kind over the phone is a big mistake.

Yes, Pace Butler is who this is.  Unfortunately, I did check out a few online sites for recycling cell phones.  This one is tricky... they don't give you an estimate... the first step is to print out a return label to mail back your phone(s).  I don't remember but maybe that's how they got my phone number.  I will not call them back, hopefully they won't bother me again.

Pacebutler called my workplace this afternoon trying to get our global IT director.  I of course screened the call and asked to take a message.  This lady talked so fast I had to ask her 3 times what she was saying.  She was very rude and irritable on the phone.  Looked them up on Google and lo and behold theres all the sites saying they are scammers!  Always go with your guy - it they sound like a cold caller they probably are!!!

That is always my goal to get telemarketers to hang up on me. That means I won the battle. (made them waste their time)

But as far as this company goes they are legit. I have used the before and very pleased. But, I only sell older phones without expecting them to pay extra. They have a secret price you have to ask for.

Ask if they buy phones by the pound? Right now they pay $2.50 per pound and pay for shipping.

about 4-5 phones = 1 pound. I go to yard sales and pay 25¢ each (never more)

There is gold in the old cell phones... so make sure you do get money for your old cell phone!!
I see that there are folks in china banging out old computers and phones smelting out the metals for a few grains of rice a day... They can grind up the phones and use chemicals to recover the metals...

And then there is the data that can be recovered from an old phone.... more contacts and information that the data harvest will store for bad things!! Now we have web phones too!!
