Hopefully, if enough of us do this, then these frickin' leaches will stop calling cell phones and end up a HUGE fine!

They left a message about lowering my payments. Didn't tell me the company name or anything. Just to call them at this 1888 number. How weird is that! I want to know where they got my cell number from!

Called my NY cellphone (at my cost, of course), and the message just repeated their phone message. No idea how they got my number. I intend to take up with Verizon, though don't expect them to do much.
| Sadie 2011-08-05 00:35:11 Unknown |

You can't even call this company to tell them to take me off their list!
| Janetjones 2011-08-04 22:55:36 Telemarketer |
Dont bother pressing 1 to be removed from their prefered marketin list. It assumes you were born yesterday. Block your number call them press 1 and they remove you from their list. Lmao. What number did they remove from their marketing list? None

I think its the phone companies selling our data to third party marketing researches who in turn cell the data themselves. I have 4 cells with at&t. All 4 started getting calls in the last two weeks up to 5 times a day and more from multiple areacodes and phone numbers. All trying to sell their credit card reduction scams. I do not nor will i ever have a credit card so no way in hell did i agree to have these bs scam artists call me or my minor childrens cell phones. This number called me 10 minues ago. I called at&t. They tried to sell me smart limits to block the numbers. Wow let me pay them another 20 a month ontop ofthe 200 i already pay them. All my numbers are o the do not call registry. Well imo just another online database full of a telemarkets dream. Thanks to corporate america we can complain all we want. Nothing will change.

I have been getting calls from this number all day. They have not left any messages. I just called it back and a recording came on and said if I didn't want to receive any more calls to press 1. So I did lets see if this works.

Here's the poop - I used to work for a company that did this type of thing. What they are doing is fishing for active phone numbers to sell (like a mailing list type of thing). A computer will generate a massive list of random phone numbers to call. Then some schlep (like I was) will start calling the numbers frantically. If you answer your phone, or your machine does they know that it is an active number that can be sold to a telemarketing company (or several of them). I was paid $0.6 for every call I made and recorded. If you are fast, you can bank $200-300 per day. These harassing companies exist for only a short while, then close their phone number and move on to another location and do the same thing all over again. If they do not mention they represent a specific company, the "do not call lists" dont apply. By the time enough complaints have been registered, the company is long gone. After a short while, the complaints fall on deaf ears as they will never catch anyone so they stop trying.

I work from home and just got a call on my business line. I didn't answer; they hung up without leaving a message on my answering machine. I've gotten to where I don't even answer calls when they're not calling from my home state. The sad fact is that business customers with phone companies cannot opt out from receiving telemarketing calls. Why exactly is that? Well, a couple of years ago I called my sorry senators in Gerogia, Saxey Chambless and Johnny Isaakson's office, and they told me that the reason business lines were exempt from being on the Do Not Call List was because the telemarketers might be calling to offer a service or product I might be interested in. Oh, really? I guess I know who's donating tons of money to their campaigns -- businesses and telemarketers. If I don't want the dang calls, I don't want them, plain and simple. Also, I am more than capable of searching and buying products and services without telemarketers pushing their crap. Honestly, who in their right mind would actually agree to buy a product or service from a telemarketer? I don't know of anyone who has, ever. Most people buy in stores or from reputable businesses online. As we've seen over the past couple of weeks, Congress is totally disfunctional and we need to vote these idiot senators out of office. Oh, and reporting abusers to the FCC is a joke!

I received a call regarding getting out of debt and to press 1 to continue and I did. After a few second delay some one said hello and I said hello back and then they hung up. This is not the first time I have received this call. Same sales pitch different number.

Same thing happended to me Jason. She left a message, sounded like we spoke before as well about reducing credit card debt. As with you, I never spoke with her, and we don't have any credit cards either.
