On cell phone just now, no message

Got a voicemail on my cell phone saying my car warranty was expired...I don't own a car.

called cell phone (sprint) during business hours did not leave a message

Called during business hours; did not leave a message. I called back and a recorded message said the number was not in service.

Call me in my cell 2 times nad hubby 2 times

Called my Sprint cell phone and left no msg.

Just got this call, I was on the other line and did not click over.  I checked the number on a whim, glad that this site is here.

i just received the same message on my cell -AT&T - r vehicle warranty - when asked for my model car - i replied - if you are calling about a warranty then you should know the make and model.  i eventually hung up on them

Automated call recieved at 10:47 EST on 22 August 08 from 406-293-7818 to my cell phone.  The automated message stated that this was their final warning that my vehicle warrenty had expired and to reactivate the warrenty to 'avoid expensive and avoidable costs' touch '1' to speak to a customer service representative.  This was the third such call recieved over the past three weeks, but this time I did dial '1'.  'Representative' asked for the year, make and model of my vehicle.  When I told them (I have recently purchased a new vehicle), they said that was the wrong vehicle and did I own any other vehicle, to which I replied 'Many, but none under warrenty'.  The 'representative' then asked if I owned a 2002, 2003 or 2004 Chevrolet pickup, and when I said no, they hung up on me.
I tried to call the number back to complain to a supervisor, but got a recorded message that 'the Nextel number you are trying to reach is no longer in service'.  An internet search for the number turned up a residental number in Montana.

They called me on my office phone (not cellular). Didn't leave a message

Oh, and I noticed everyone else said it was their cell phone too.  All of them wouldn't bee Nextel would they?  Maybe someone at Nextel is selling numbers...

The same thing just happened to me as well.  This is the second or third time I've gotten the recorded message that 'this is your final opportunity to activate your vehicle warrenty' but this time I punched '1' to speak to an operator.  When he came on the line, he asked what year, make and model vehicle I owned and I told him I own several vehicles, so which was he referring to.  He then asked if any of them was a 2002, 2003 or 2004 Chevrolet pickup and when I said No, he hung up on me.  I tried calling the number back and the message said the number was no longer in service, but an internet search of the number and area code gave a gentleman's name and number in Montana.
It sounds like a scam to me....

SCAM!!!! They told me this is the second time they have warned me about renewing my insurance for my car (which they didnt even say what business they are from)...problem is I have never bought a car! I'm in undergrad right now. When I pressed 1 to speak with customer service they proceeded to ask me the make and model of my car. I responded by telling them that I don't have one and I was wondering why they called my phone. That's where they hung up on me. Just a warning to anyone who gets a call by this number...they either are trying to SCAM you or they just have TERRIBLE customer service for a company they never mentioned.
