Today i received this same voice recorded message from this number to my cell & land line numbers. many times i receive the same message before.  i don't know how to protect myself from this scam.

Now I just ignore.

I just missed this call on my cell while in the shower.  I didn't know who was trying to call me.  When I tried to return the call I was told the number was no longer listed or disconnected.  Glad you guys have posted out here or I wouldn't have known what was going on.

Recd call at 10:40am -- hit reject since I didn't know who it was -- then googled here and saw that its linked to this scam.

Same here... just received a call from this number, no voicemail left.

Also the same for me, I didn't recognize the number and my cell phone is unlisted so i didn't answer it. I wonder how they got the number...

Hi I should thank this site. I also got a call from same number. I was in another call did not pick it up.

I pressed one to talk to a guy. The guy who answered said something like "Automotive warantees". I asked over and over again what the name of the company was - and he finally just hung up.

Keep getting these calls, so I held on and a man answered and ask for my make an model of my car. I told him to put me on a no call list and he hung up on me before I could complete the sentence

I get several of these calls a week, on my business, home and cell phone.  I have tried all of the above things.  Obviously, it is a scam.  My only suggestion is to make it more expensive for them.  Follow through, talk to a person, give them some phone VIN or what ever, or just take up their time.  Make the jerks at the other end waste ten of twenty minutes, and then hang up  Standard stuff like, 'oh, wait let me get the VIN number...', or 'oh, wait you need a credit card number, let me get my wallet/purse' or 'oh, could you repeat that, I'm a little hard of hearing or the connection is bad'.  Just anything to waste their time and tie up their phone lines.

Hey! This happened to me as well, in fact yesterday. I wasn't there because i was watching a movie and when I got my phone it said I had a missed call. I called back and it only says that its no longer in service and stuff. I found it very odd and I googled it and i got this. It's an extended auto warranty scam. I spoke to some guy with a heavy Indian accent. He wouldn't give me his company name or contact information, but he said that he works for a "consumer protection warranty" company which is basically a broker for "Warrantac" which is based in Florida. The 5 year warranty was for $2248, BUT he could take $200 off, if I finalized everything today. He seemed really upset that I wouldn't give him my credit card information over the phone -- he even raised his voice. haha..

Scamming bastards. Find a real job.

Called my Cell, didnt leave a message, tried calling back but got a number not in service-disconnect message. googled the # and found this info in the listings,

Called my unlisted cell phone.  Left a recorded message with a woman's voice that said this was my last chance to get an extended car warranty from them before they close the file.  Called me at 3:30 pm today (EDT).

I was just called by this number too, and happened to find this webpage. I am amazed. Anyway, I did not answer nor did they leave any message.

It's starting to be a pattern. I got a call on my cell and I ignored it; no message left.

Called my cell for the 2nd time.  Previously pushed #2 to be removed from the call list.  This time pushed 1 to talk to somebody.  I asked which car they were calling about, they said they didn't have that info.  And then proceeded to tell them that its funny that they called because I didn't even have a car.  He apoligized and said it must have been a mistake and I would be removed from the list.  Yeah right!

I got a call from this number 406-541-3616. I didnt answer because of the unknown number. The person didnt leave a message.
