Don't have caller ID - answered phone today, 2/27/09 at 3:12 p.m. Robo call that said calling about "your credit card...want to offer you a lower rate." Have received a call from either this number or a similar company. I decided to call back by pressing "9" as advised so that I could find out name of company to report to FCC as I'm on "Do Not Call" list. I asked the guy for the name of the company, he refused to give me the name, and rudely asked me my name. When I asked to speak to his manager, he said, "the manager was on vacation." I told the guy I needed to speak to someone in charge and asked him if he understood what I just asked? He told me, sarcastically, rudely and in a loud tone, "No, I'm mentally retarded." and then, called me "a w***e" and hung up on me. If anyone knows the name of this company, please post so we can report this company.

Keep getting calls from this number..called ID say's Florida and then this number. Woman said she was from "card services"...and I hung up. Where do these jokers get the numbers? How can we stop them from calling?
| Maverick 2009-02-27 22:36:49 Unknown |
I'm getting these every day. I've mentioned I'm on the do not call list, the moment you ask them who you are they hang up. I used to work at Experian and at the time it was illegal as a company to not provide information when asked like company name.
Latest call, the person asked you're inquiring about lowering your rate on the credit card? What's the name of your company? click...
Obviously the automated lines are for all sorts of "deals" and it just rolls back to an answering center. I don't care where these calls are originating from, they should be pursued and fined heavily.

Do not have caller ID, today, 2/27/09 at 3:12 p.m., received this call, instructing me to dial 9 to lower my interest rates. As I've received another such annoying call (and am on "Do Not Call List," I called the number to try to find out name of company to report company and have them either fined or put out of business. The guy who answered the phone, sounded not too bright, crude and rude. When I asked him what the name of his company, he would not tell me, and instead, rudely asked me what my name was -- which I refused to furnish. I then asked to speak with his manager -- after which, he said "he was on vacation." I said I wanted to speak to someone in charge and asked him if he understood my request. He rudely and sarcastically said, "No, I'm retarded" and then proceeded to call me a "w***e" and hung the phone up on me. If anyone finds out who this company is -- we need to get these companies fined, if not put out of business.

I ALWAYS take this call. They are trying to scam you and get your credit card #. I love to mess with these guys. I play it straight with a fake name and phone number and try to waste their time. Then I tell them that they must be very stupid if the only way they can make $ is buy scaming people over the phone. Then I say a few things that cant be said here. Don't get upset...get even.

the recording said something about credit cards, and i don't have a credit card so I pressed nine to speak to a live person. When the woman came on i asked to be removed from their calling list, and the woman made a nasty comment and hung up!!

I also rec. a call today from this # with a prerecorded message saying that it was a call re: my credit cards and that there was no problem but to press 9 and be connected with a customer services rep. I pressed 9 and there was a man that claimed to be with CARD SERVICES. When I reverifed the name of the company he stated Card Servies. I then asked for a number to reach his company he hung up on me.

Robocall from (407) 000-8741 with a "lower your credit card interest rate" scam. I've filed complaints with the FCC and the National Do Not Call Registry.

Caller said press 9 to lower credit card rates. Said he was with Cardmember Services. Told him I was on the Do Not Call list and he rudely blurted out, "you have to contact Visa maam" and hung up on me!

Who is calling
| Mrs Steed 2009-02-19 22:49:49 Unknown |
I filed a complaint with the federal do not call list- that is the only way to stop this. Caller Id should be required to transmit a number that you can call someone back at

I'd love to get a live person on the phone so I could waste some of their time, but would like to avoid a phone charge for thousands a minute.
What is the probability of this?

Name was unavailable, but number showed on caller ID
I don't answer calls of this type. It left a voicemail, but it was just a hangup.

Just received a call from this number. Did not leave any message. Caller ID indicates "Name Unavailable"...most likely your typical telemarketer.

Caller was offering to lower my credit card interest rates. When I said that I had no credit cards they quickly hung up. This is a scam to get the card numbers. After all why go to the trouble of hacking a website when you can get some people to volunteer their credit card numbers?
