I believe this is portfolio recovery, but the caller id says unknown name. Isn't this against their guidelines with the state?
X 2012-06-30 10:35:45 Unknown
1997? That's beyond the statute of limitations in every state. Dispute the claim at all costs They don't have a leg to stand on (25 yrs) they're NUTS

Maybe we could do a class action lawsuit against them...Any attorneys out there interested?

i just spoke to a customer service rep from myfica.com and if the bill etc is over 7 years old or whatever your state allows, tell them 'Remove My Name From Your Calling List' and they are not allowed to call you again!!

Caller asked for me, however, in the name of a barbershop. I knew a barber many years ago who went to prison and has been arrested once again. I keep getting this person's mail and now phone calls when this is MY home number. This must stop! I return all mail not at this address, but, now phone calls are unbelievable!

stop calling i live in florida
Anonymous 2012-06-28 18:16:56 Unknown
I've been getting calls from this number since May 18, 2012. (At least, that is the oldest date I have in my call log for them.) I never answer and they never leave a message. I'm not even from Florida.
Colorado Girl 2012-06-28 15:13:08 Unknown
Tell them the phone call is being recorded and they are to stop calling. If they don't you can report them to the attorney general's office in your state and theirs.
Colorado Girl 2012-06-28 15:11:25 Unknown
Thank you for the list. I will have to copy and print and keep by my phones so if any of these numbers call I can report them too.
Colorado Girl 2012-06-28 15:10:33 Unknown
They called my office phone I answered using my business name and they hung up and immediately called my home phone. Thank God for caller id....saw it was the exact same number so I answered with my business name yet again. They asked for me by a name I have not used in 25 years. Told them I had never heard of that person and hung up. They better not call back.
I will report them to the attorney's general office along with all the others.

I picked up once, they said I owed a debt, I said that was several years ago, way past the statute. He says yes but you owe 2500.00 I said why so much, it wasn't that much before, he said penalties and finance charges. he said how would you like to pay this today. I said good luck with that, your not getting a dime. They still call, I ignore them.

These fools just called the guy sounded like a kid and I just said call my lawyer and gave him the number he kept saying wait wait wait. Hey fool did you not understand me f****ng idiots.
pascha 2012-06-22 17:36:53 Unknown
You might want to take one of their calls to see what account they have on you. They are relentless and will pursue you until you either pay what they claim you owe or you file a complaint (if you truly owe them nothing) with the attorney general in your state. It's best to at least find out why they are calling you. But they will continue to relentlessly track your phone number and address down through publically available records--like any Internet purchases and postal addresses. They won't go away.
pasha 2012-06-22 17:32:51 Unknown
They got your phone records from other Internet/company databases--like online purchases. You may not owe them, but you may owe a company they now represent, since they buy up debt contracts.
haha 2012-06-22 17:08:50 Unknown
They call my home phone. Not once in over 7 years have they ever gotten me to pick up the phone or even gotten an answering machine (I don't have one on my home phone). But, they still call at least once per day. Does not really bother me, if calling a number every day, even on Sunday, without ever hearing an answer is the way someone wants to spend their miserable existence on this earth, then knock your lights out and enjoy.
Crystal 2012-06-22 14:01:55 Debt Collector
I receive 12 0f these calls a day for someone who doesn't live here but used me as a reference years ago. I have spoke with probably 6 people to tell them but as I am explaining they hang up on me and call back an hour later!!! Portfolio Recovery is relentless and are driving me crazy!!!! I have tried talking, hanging up, and have even screamed as loud as I could into the phone.... Nothing works!!!!!

Get the Panasonic phone: you must have caller id service. You can block up to 30 numbers; some of these jokers have hundreds of numbers that they used. At least, turn your phone ringer off so you won't hear the harassing ringing; these callers by now should know, take it else where, nobody is listening to them. If you must leave your phone on, notify family members that you will only answer when you hear their voice on the answering machine.
******* View the consumerfinance.gov website to know your rights and you can file your complaints there if it is a third party debt collector and your past debts are beyond the statue of limitations. *****
Don?t ever answer yes and no questions from anybody who you do not know and especially if you did not initiate the call.
There should be something done about the incessant harassment via the telephone.
There must be some type of network where these harassers are adding your telephone number to a data base. They must be in cahoots; every tom, dick, harry, sue and jane is calling and for what. If they do not leave a message that is pertaining to you, do not call them back. If it is important, they will leave a legitimate number to respond.

I use a Google voice number for all my public contacts and see this number quite often. It is always set to go to voice-mail and they never get through because it never rings on my cell phone. They can call it all day every day and I won't even know until I go to my email. I set this up a few years ago to avoid telemarketers and salesman and works just perfectly. Only people whom I know personally have my cell #, all others get the voice mail and I can check it on line at my convenience.

If you filed a bankruptcy and it was discharged, anyone trying to collect on a discharged debt is committing a federal felony. The government will sue them! If this is what's happening, you need to contact the court that discharged your bankruptcy ASAP! Let THEM deal with these worms!
misskitty 2012-06-15 16:33:22 Unknown
Joseph, NO ONE cares about us-no republicans and no democrats-Congress is into filling up their pockets and their pockets only-our so called LEADERS in the WHITE HOUSE could care less about the struggling Americans regardless of what class they are in-only the RICH continue to reap rewards.
misskitty 2012-06-15 16:31:14 Unknown
I have to say that the democrats don't care either because if ANY of the parties cared-they would have put a stop to all of this harassing especially with comments being made about these callers. So I don't point a finger to just one group-I point it to the entire congress and our so called LEADERS!!!
