I just  experienced the same thing last night!

I only fell for it, but I told her to call back today to get my card details.... Usually westgate has your card information on their file which makes them not to ask repeatedly.

It was a lady that called, am till expecting her to call today and I will freak her life out!

They called from this number left no message. I refuse to answer any phone calls that is not on my personal caller ID.  If it is a number I do not recognize, I do not answer, if it is important they will leave a message.

Got a call from Chris, saying that they wanted to rent out our timeshare weeks. He made it seem like he was a part of Interval International, and that he would be able to rent out the weeks ASAP as there were people very interested in this property, specifically mine. After several calls and discussions with him, I agreed to talk it over with my wife, which she too thought it was a good idea to rent our "bonus weeks" for extra money. I talked with Chris again, which he said there was a 995$ fee for membership, as well as any legal fees and insurance. I was surprised i had to pay up front, but he assured me that there were renters available, and gullibley i took their offer. Only at the very end, when i actually signed the "contract" did it say Your Timeshare Genie. By that point they had already gotten my credit card number, billing address, phone number, and even my wifes phone number. I should have done my research first. I called Westgate, and they said that i dont have "bonus weeks" and that i can only sell/rent my property on my own, and that anyone asking for money up front is a scam. (too late for that now). so i called my credit card company, and put a hold on my card. I called interval, and same thing, is that i dont have any "bonus weeks" and that i can only trade in my weeks at my timeshare for someplace else. So finally, i called these guys back, and they give me the run around, saying they can rent it out, guaranteed, etc. i told them i would like to cancel, right now a total of 14 times, (18 now) spoke with Mr. Knight who still tried to dissuade me from cancelling with them. Its very annoying and caused me unneeded stress!!

AS i NOW know.. DO NOT GIVE INTO THESE PEOPLE!! stand your GROUND!

I received a call from this number initially on 5/16/2012 at 230pm PST.  I answered which is not something I normally do for numbers I am unfamiliar with in the first place.  But for some reason I did this time, immediately the caller identified himself as Chris and started talking about my timeshare I recently purchased and if I was interested in renting out the weeks at all.  After he started asking me questions on the size of the timeshare I owned, I finally got out of him the company he works for, Your Timeshare Genie.  I knew it was not westgate as they do not do re-sale or rentals of timeshares through their company.  This seems like a scam even though there is a legit website for the company,  The problem I have is that you have to pay them 995.00 in order to do all the leg work for you.  Well as soon as I basically told the guy I had to talk to my husband about the matter, I called Westgate immediately to find out why this person and this other company had my name and #, Timeshares like houses, when they are bought becomes a matter of public record, so these companies go through them and cold call people to convince them to do this deal.  DO NOT GO FOR IT, ACCORDING TO WESTGATE THE BEST WAY TO RENT YOUR TIMESHARE OUT IS TO DO IT YOURSELF!!!

The next day 5/17, the guy called back, I did not answer this time, he called around 330pm PST, he called again today 5/18 at 745AM, 920am and 1230pm.  If you own a timeshare through westgate, call their customer service dept and complain, they file complaints with the local authorities about these people to shut them down.

Got also two calls from this number with offer to rent or sale my bonus week from Westgate. If I say yes, he will transfer my call to a third party who will verify with me my credit card information. Needless to say that I didn't agree!

Called my job during lunch time.  The caller I.D. indicated "Unbound 15,"  The caller's name was Jay and asked that I call back because he had important information about my timeshare.  He left the following number for me to call (888-785-7642).  Needless to say, I did not, nor do I intend to call back.
