A CONVICTED fraudster who launched a racist attack on a supermarket worker is facing jail.


Scott Horne, 33, shoved Gopisangar Balasinghan and called him a ?Paki? during a visit to Tesco Metro in Gants Hill.


Snaresbrook Crown Court heard yesterday that Horne of Gate House, Eastern Avenue, had attacked Mr Balasinghan less than two months after receiving a suspended prison sentence following a conviction for conspiracy to defraud.


Judge Martyin Zeidman QC warned Horne faced serving the four-month term on top of any sentence for lashing out at Mr Balasinghan.


?I have an open mind at the moment as to sentence,? the judge said.


?This must have been a very unpleasant incident from the point of view of the victim.


?It is a terrible thing to say a racist comment to someone, to call him a P*** and push him.?


Horne had denied the assault on Mr Balasinghan on June 16 last year and was due to stand trial but he later admitted the attack.


His barrister Ian Dowty read a prepared statement by Horne to the court in Hollybush Hill, Snaresbook which said he was ?angry and in drink? at the time of the attack.


The court heard Horne was convicted of conspiracy to defraud on April 29 last year and his sentence was suspended for two years.


Judge Zeidman bailed Horne until February 2 and ordered prosecutors seek a statement from Mr Balasinghan and an impact statement from the victim.


The judge ordered Horne not to contact the victim and banned the defendant from entering any Tesco store in Redbridge.


Horne is due to be sentenced at the Old Bailey next month.


Horne admitted racially aggravated assault by beating.

Same story early this morning.  We may give out his number to all the people in our church this Sunday and ask them to call him and tell him the God loves him.  I just pray no more pastors fall for this lie and I also pray that this man experiences the fear of the Lord.

This fellow called my Pastor yesterday.  My pastor said that they keep getting cut off (maybe the dude is paranoid and hanging up) and asked my to try on my phone.  I looked the number up on google and found this site.  Glad we didn't have a chance to send him anything.

He's still working his story.  I'm on the edge of KC and talked to him then called our pastor.  None of us could recall him.  He called back, first time I ignored him, found the fraud stuff online, second call back, I told him to stop calling I knew he was a scam.  Sorry I wasted any time worried about him.  I'll pray for him.

Tried to say we owed a debt....NOT!

I received the same phone call.  Scot is a busy boy.  It makes you wonder how much of a business he has going on here.  When I asked a couple of questions, he hung up.  I called back later his response was his cell phone battery was low and he was gone again.  It is not my money he was asking for, it belongs to God.  I pray that he repents before he shows up in front of the judgment seat.

This is the "Small Church Scam"

Called me too.  Exactly the same story as in the other posts.  Quaking voice, distressed.  Wanted me to send $124 to WalMart in Casselberry, Florida.  Called WalMart and spoke with someone.  Apparently he can cash it because the money order reference number you give him on the phone actually can serve as his ID.  I checked local phone book and white pages online.  No Scott Corns age 28.  I called him back to ask his mother's name.  Katherine Ledford.  After his father's death 20 years ago, she went back to her maiden name.  Most recent Katherine Ledford death in Florida was in 2001.  (He even told me his mother was his Little League coach.  "You can see what kind of mother she was."  (I'll tell the truth.  At first I was going to go for it, but all my wife's red flags went up when I told her.)

He just called me with the same story, mother's funeral. He woke me out of a sound sleep at 1 am. Said he visited my church etc etc. Said he was broken down in Florida. When I said I didn't know how I could help him from up here in NJ he hung up.

Scott called our church last night and left a voice mail with a similar story, and it scared me to death because we have church members who regularly travel to the Orlando area.  I just happened to Google the number and found this.  After several attempts to get him to call me back, I finally got him on the phone.  I tried to re-scam him into giving me an address to send a check so that I could then give the address to the police.  He said he couldn't wait for the mail, and had to get the money tonight.  Always a bad sign.  Anyways, I finally broke cover and told him he needed to repent and that what he was doing was morally reprehensible.  As expected, he didn't care.  

Never send benevolence money to anyone in any kind of emergency situation unless you are certain that you know the person and know the need to be legit.

Got scammed by Scott Korn - Koren - Cornn -- last week.  Told the same story about his mother's death etc.  Blown rod in 92 Olds.  Needed bus tickets for he and his wife and 2 girls.  Asked for $124 -- I sent $150.

Kenny- This is the "Small Church Scam". They call of the Minister of a Church, mostly in small cities or towns, & act like you know them, or they're a member. THEN there's a problem that they need money for an emergency. They hope that you'll just send it. Bye bye money! This has been reported on this site.

called me tonight, said his wife's name was Mary Ann, had two daughters Jessica, and something else, I didn't catch it. Said they had recently visited, I meet everyone that comes through the doors of our little Church, when I told him I was having trouble placing him, he hung up, I was worried that maybe I meet him somewhere else, and he needed to talk, because it was 1:45am I called back twice no answer, then googled the number, glad I did.

How can you track this person down to get them?  they got us too!

All churches  don't fall for it - same story - mother hit by drunk driver, lived here, been to our church.

This is a scam!  "Scott Corn"  has used other numbers and last name variations to ask for money.  Asked my pastor husband to send $125 dollars to a Walmart in Fern Park, FL because of a sob story about a mother's funeral and car breaking down, etc.
