I receive calls about every 2 or 3 mos. He announces himself as Officier David Jackson w/Orlando Co. sheriffs Dept. He has a very thick indian accent. He says that this is a verbal warning and I need to call him back immediately. Just today I received a call at my work number stating that I need to to call him back or else this would to to my human resource dept at work; but today his name was Mark Watson. These calls come from this number, 215-526-5194, 202-367-9973 and 631-209-6009. How do you get thim to stop!!!!  This is utterly insane!!!!
Really?

Our office keeps getting calls from an Officer David Jackson from the Orlando County Sheriffs Dept.  He says his badge number is 5202 and his return number is 407-504-6930.  He told me that there was an arrest warrent out for one of my co-workers and he would be arrested soon and that he needs to lose his job because he owes money on a loan.  How do we get these calls to stop? They don't give up!

I recieved a phone call on my cell from 215-526-5194 from a man named David Jackson, indian accent, claiming he was from the Orlando Sheriff's Department telling me it was urgent to call them at 407-504-6930 as there was legal action going to be taken against me. These people are ridiculous, do they really think someone actually will believe it. I think what  bothers me most is how they got my information. They had my address from a prior rental and my cell!!! WTF!!

Debt Collector
Just an Fyi from the fair debt practices website

What does the debt collector have to tell me about the debt?
Every collector must send you a written ?validation notice? telling you how much money you owe within five days after they first contact you. This notice also must include the name of the creditor to whom you owe the money, and how to proceed if you don?t think you owe the money.
What practices are off limits for debt collectors?
Harassment. Debt collectors may not harass, oppress, or abuse you or any third parties they contact. For example, they may not:
   use threats of violence or harm;
   publish a list of names of people who refuse to pay their debts (but they can give this information to the credit reporting companies);
   use obscene or profane language; or
   repeatedly use the phone to annoy someone.

False statements. Debt collectors may not lie when they are trying to collect a debt. For example, they may not:
   falsely claim that they are attorneys or government representatives;
   falsely claim that you have committed a crime;
   falsely represent that they operate or work for a credit reporting company;
   misrepresent the amount you owe;
   indicate that papers they send you are legal forms if they aren?t; or
   indicate that papers they send to you aren?t legal forms if they are.

Debt collectors also are prohibited from saying that:
   you will be arrested if you don?t pay your debt;
   they?ll seize, garnish, attach, or sell your property or wages unless they are permitted by law to take the action and intend to do so; or
   legal action will be taken against you, if doing so would be illegal or if they don?t intend to take the action.

Debt collectors may not:
   give false credit information about you to anyone, including a credit reporting company;
   send you anything that looks like an official document from a court or government agency if it isn?t; or
   use a false company name.

Unfair practices. Debt collectors may not engage in unfair practices when they try to collect a debt. For example, they may not:
   try to collect any interest, fee, or other charge on top of the amount you owe unless the contract that created your debt ? or your state law ? allows the charge;
   deposit a post-dated check early;
   take or threaten to take your property unless it can be done legally; or
   contact you by postcard.

I just received a call from that number a few minutes ago on my cell and house phone. He would even give me an information. He said that there was some complaint against me. So, I asked him what complaint, and then he hanged up. First of all, the guy sounds Indian. There is no way his last name is Smith. I don't even live in Florida. Guy is a scam creep and a jack***.

I received a call from these people officer Kevin Smith with an heavy thick indian accent.  He told me that I am being charge for money laundering, fraud, etc and that i need to western union him monies right now or be arrested.  I told him he was full of S@#! and that I am reading about his scam right now online. I told him not to call my phone again or else.  He cussed at me and then hung up.  I laughed because these people really think of american to the biggest of dummies ever. Who in the hell would believe a $350 payday loan would turn into $10,000 .. I mean the creditors here in american would never charge us that much so why in the hell would anyone believe that and trust me I have had my share of creditors calling me and paying a certain amount but not $10,000.  Please people do not believe them... hang up on them and tell them to go to hell.... SCAMMERS they all should be put on one island and jailed for life.

Got a call yesterday.  Same story.  "Office Kevin Smith" with a thick indian accent claimed to be from the sherrifs department of orange county Fl.  Told me I was being charged with fruad, fed. bank theft, money laundering and other "serious charges"  He told me this was from an internet loan I never paid back.  Obviously I never took any loan.  He had my name, email address and home address which was alarming but when I asked what bank account this money was transfered to he couldnt tell me.  He did tell me that If i paid him I would not be arrested.  He mad it sound legit, gave me a case # and badge # and read my marenda (sp?) rights over the phone.

I promptly found and called the Orange County Fla Sherrifs Department and spoke with a deputy who's putting a case together on this scum bag.  Please, if you get a phone call like this or from this number, please call the Sherrifs dept and let them know.  We need to get this piece of crap.

This company calls and calls any number they can get on people and they threaten to arrest you. These are scammers and there is no such thing as debtors jail. If you do not get anything from an Actual attorney's office, do not pay them. They say you took a loan over the internet and cannot send you verificiation of the debt. They are not even in the US, they are from India.
