My husband registered for a vacation raffle at a motercycle event. Apparently we won because this David Ross guy called and went on and on about the vacation package and luxury accommodations at a 5 star Disney resort, blah blah blah blah blah. He even asked us to put the call on speaker so the whole family could hear (me, husband, and 3 very excited little girls). After a 15 minute rant about our amazing winnings he then started getting into how prizes have to be taxable by law.  In order to receive our big prize we would need to first cover the state regulated luxury tax fee which was $498. He said he'd have to have payment immediately to secure our trip, if we couldn't pay right then and there over the phone via "audio receipt" with a credit card payment then we would lose our prize. I told him we simply didn't have the money at this time. Mind you, by this time I was well on to his scam. He asked if we could make a split payment. I told him I didnt have it but I would try to come up with it. He ended the call by saying (in a possibly Canadian accent he was trying to cover up), "well don't be sad about not being able to claim your prize, here is my number 407-641-2190 and again my name is David Ross. If you can come up with even a partial payment then I will be sure you receive your vacation prize." Ended the call by thanking him and telling him that I would try to come up with the money.
Well I did a little research and confirmed the phone number was linked to multiple scams.
So I called him back and told him I was going to dip into a little money I have set aside in savings for the kids because we were all so excited by this prize opportunity. He asked for my card number. So I began by reading it off... "4345 F*** you! How dare you prey on people and try to scam money out of them. Get a real job and stop living a lie. How dare you try to scam money from my family by using my children's happiness as an excuse. F*** you a***ole!" I think I took him by surprise. He said I was being mean and he was simply trying to deliver the great news about my prize. I told him to never even dare to call our number back and if he did he would be asking for a world of hell fire to be unleashed upon him. lol
THEN he dares to say to me, "you shouldn't threaten people Mrs "Jones", especially since I have your address."
Then he hung up.
About 10 minutes later the number calls back and the same guy, obviously trying to change his voice and hide the Canadian undertone, says his name is Charlie White and he was a supervisor. He was concerned about my call with his promotional associate, David Ross, and wanted to see if we could discuss the situation. Well a lot of banter later and I ended the call by telling him that I had already contacted my local police and that if he ever called again that he'd regret it.

Received a call today from a 321 nummber telling me that my resume was viewed on Monster.com and I should call 888-875-7391 to speak to Nancy about a position. When I called a man answered and did not give me to the person who called me. Sais the job was customer service and no sales when I asked. was very aggressive and fast talker, coming back at my reasonable questions with comments like " I appeared stand offish" and concerned about my initial attitude and felt uncomfortable about our initial conversation (very defensive). Went on saying that the position was "pretty self explanatory" and shocked me with the fast talk andrude attitude towards my very fundamental questions. i explained that many services call and want to place you in various positions, and that I simply wanted information about what I had thought was a placement agency and the position being offered. Ultimately he was upset that I was not excited at the mere fact I was called, as though a King had called me with the opportunity of a lifetime. I apologized for any misunderstanding and set up an appointment for the next morning, intending to do more research on this agency before going. He finally said that "he had other things to do" and quickly ended the call saying that if I had any other concerns or was no longer interested to call at 8 am in the morning, then ended the call. When I questioned anything he said he felt uncomfortable with my initial response, told me he was one of the owners, and that I would be interviewing with Matt Henderson himself. The whole encounter made me quite uncomfortable and overwhelmed, with this guy trying to point out how inadequate I was responding to a job opportunity when the real issue was within his own lack of professionalism. Needless to say, thank you all for the feedback I so needed to hear, and I will be cancelling the interview.

This must be someone's cell phone because a Google search also turned up an ad on Craiglist and another ad somewhere selling some used printers. Same as many of the above: American Income got my resume off the internet and wanted to offer some job I am in no way qualified for.

407-641-0661 seems to be from American Income Life Insurance.
Probably not a scam. They are looking for salespeople. They all are.

Place your resume online & every hit you get will be an insurance company wanting to pay you 100% commission.

Got a call from 407-641-0661 after posting my resume to CareerBuilder last week. They left a message that based on my resume that I'd submitted, they wanted to interview me, said they were American Income Life Insurance. Desperate for a job, I called back this afternoon.

The guy that answered wanted to schedule me for an interview tomorrow morning. I pointed out that I didn't even know what the job *was* and asked him about it. He said it would be either a Manager or Sales Manager Position, but couldn't tell me more. So he directed me to the website www.workatail.com for more information. I was suspicious before, but after checking it out, now I know it is a scam. Shame on them for preying on the jobless!

American Income is an Insurance Company that will bug the hell out of you to try and beg you to sell their insurance. (Notice how misleading the name is?) If you put an application or a resume online, I suggest you block them or you will be bugged forevermore. They don't seem to understand when you tel them you aren't interested in a sales position that is strictly based on percentages -- they are a dime a dozen.
