Don't you guys know how to do this yet???? A lot of you people just hang up on these auto-dialer companies. To catch the gopher, you must THINK like the gopher. Follow these rules.....
1) If you hang up on them, you're doing them a favor. They now know you're dead weight, and can go onto the next potential winning slot machine. Instead, try to take up as much of their time as possible.
2) Play like you're a winning slot machine for them. Tell them you've just been looking for what they are selling for the past week and you hope to make a decision by next week.
3) Go through their whole spiel, painful though it may be.
4) At the end, remind them you've been looking for whatever they're selling and hope to make a decision next week.
5) Ask them what their number is for when you make a decision. They'll usually give it to you. Thank them for their time, and end the call like they're your new friend.
6) Call the number to see what happens; what outgoing message you get, hit whatever numbers you need to actually get to a person, and write those option numbers all down.
7) Post a free ad on Craigslist for something either free or really cheap (but not stupidly cheap). MAKE SURE to put something that references the company in the ad. For example this company trying to lower your charge card by 6%, place an ad for a rental home. If rent in that area is normally $800, place an ad for $525 and say "call 6% Rental Company", so that when the calls start coming into them, they'll KNOW it's because of their robocalls! Try to flood them with a bunch of calls they don't want. If your ad gets flagged on Craigslist, get some cardboard and BIG magic markers and hang a few signs up around town where they're SURE to get calls.

Prank Call
When I tried to call back the # of (407) 745-1617, I got an extremely rude man by the name of Allan on the line and he said that "yes", they have a service charge of $695.00 in order to lower the current interest rate on Scotia Bank VISA and Capital One MasterCard credit cards.  He asked me if I had a confirmation number and when I said "no", I had cut off the representative before he could give me this info - he abruptly told me that I am not a CUSTOMER of credit card services and to NOT call back to this number ever again.  PLEASE BEWARE of these scammers!!!

Prank Call
Gentleman by the name of Chris and then Marc Icawat claim that they can lower the interest rate on Scotia VISA and Capital One cards to as low as 5.99%.  I called Scotia Bank and they do NOT make these sorts of calls - this is a SCAM!  They use the phone numbers of (407) 745-1617 and (941) 312-8877.  DO NOT give out any info - this is a SCAM!

Said would lower interest rate on credit cards had last 4 numbers of cards asked for complete card number. Before I thought I gave the number for Bank of America, but when he went on to others I advised I would call him back with info. First call came in from 305 368-8901 (unable to reach that number) second call came from 941 312-8877 (when called get recording call cannot be reached as dialed). Bryan Hills is name given with ID# BH7591; when he called bsck I asked if I could call him back and he gave 407 745-1617 X211.  Will contact BBB to report this.

I did the same today. When he (Chris) gave me his number to call back to verify his company, I googled it. Strange enough, he told me that Experian made the initial call, thus the reason he did not have my name, however, he continuosly called me back. My name moved from mam, to sweetheart, to senorita, then to Mam I Hate You.

Then lo and behold! Mike the supervisor called. However, the same voice as Chris, with just the information Chris had, no name of who he was calling, and just the first four digits of the mastercard number #5490.

I kindly asked not to call back, and that we are on the do not call list.

I called the number (blocking my phone #).

I asked for x 8015, and after a brief wait, they said the agent was busy with another call and could they help me.

"Yes, I want to talk to whomever is in charge of your utility bill", I told him. "I want to save you money on your utility bill".

Gee, they aren't too happy when the shoe is on the other foot!!!

EVERYONE SHOULD CALL THEM WITH AN "OFFER" ! !

The call (allegedly) came from 305-368-8823 - but calling it on a separate phone while the incoming call was in progress yielded an inoperative number.

I toyed with the caller. I said I was interested in lowering my Discover bill.  He claimed to "verify" by asking me if the first 4 digits of my account is 6011
MOST DISCOVER CARDS START WITH 6011 ! ! !

So now he thinks he's got my confidence and wants the rest of the number.
I act a little apprehensive about giving out the info for an incoming call. I even tell him that "for all I know, you could be in Nigeria".

He tells me to call 407-745-1617 x 8015 and ask for Chris -- he will wait on the line until the call comes in.

I point out that I had called 305-368-8823 but it was inoperative - but he tells me that's because they (the company that prints my Discover bill, and Amex, MC & Visa too!!!) use VOIP to make the call.

I ask several times if he is DISCOVER card services, he says he is.

Then I tell him that wife has just called Discover (a lie) and they said don't talk to him -- and when I point out that I'm on the do not call list, he hangs up on me.

Oh well, wasted 5 minutes of HIS time.

Caller said she represented CardMember Services to lower my VISA account with Bank of America.  I gave no information and the lady was very rude when I told her to take me off their call list.  She said she was going to raise my credit card rate to 29% and I deserved to have my card cancelled.  Nice.
