Same message, sent to my cell phone also based in California. Did not call, checked online first because I am traveling abroad --- I'm glad and irritated at the same time to learn about this scam.

Received a text message saying my Visa account was closed due to unusual activity and to call 408-416-3476 right away. I called my visa card company instead to check and they said that no credit card company would text you regarding your account. If you get this message do not call this number; it's a scam.
