That number was in regard to a program that every PG&E customer pays into.  Look on the second page of your PG&E bill and notice the surcharge for Public Purpose Program, also known as PPP.  

You are the ignorant one, because it was a valid phone call.  If you are unsure of this, call PG&E to collaborate this known truth.  You can also find this information on PG&E's website pge.com/energysavings

Got a call from this number twice today 1/21/2014  Didn't pick up nor did it leave a message.  It must not be that important.  Called it back and it's a girl on an answering machine.  Don't get scammed!

I received a call from this number on 1/16/14 at 3:38 PM.  I said hello but there was no answer, then the caller disconnected.  I live 17 miles south of Gilroy (reputed source of this number).

This number tried to call me many times but missed me. But today I just picked up the phone and stayed on the line as the machine asked. After a while a woman went on and spelled out my exact name and address and asked me if I wanted to join the Energy Saving by PG&E. Right away I knew this is a scam because PG&E has never sent me any official letter informing me about this program. I told her that since I hadn't received any official information from PG&E, I was not interested to join in any programs. She then said "okay" and "goodbye" heavily and unhappily. Folks, please stay alert with this type of scam and never give any information to them! Hope PG&E notice this strange thing which has happened since August, 2013.

Called claiming to be with PG&E customer assistance (at least that was my take) asking you to stay on the line if you are interested in a program that will save you up to 20% each month. The recording sounded low quality. The only reason I stayed on the line is because I was expecting a service call back from PG&E within the next couple of days. After the prompt to stay on the line, a young sounding operator came on and began verifying my basic, public information - zip code, phone number and name. She also claimed to be pulling up my PG&E file. I stopped her and asked what the call was about. She said by staying on the line I had indicated that I am interested in saving money on my PG&E bill. I said I was not interested and she said "okay" and "goodbye". Sounds like a scam from start to finish and did not sound like PG&E.

I just got this call like three times in a week now... My guess it has to be a scam... I never submit any of my info to PG&E random calls these days...

Just got a call from this party. A**holes. I just put them on my DigiTone Call Blocker. They will never reach me. Bottom-feeder jerks. Get a real job. If not, go to school. If you can't go to school, become a thief, like work that this company.

I'm getting those phone calls too...

Some one call from this number above on  1/10/14, 2:22 pm and they didn't respond when I answered the call.  I decided to look it up in the internet and I found that I'm not the only one getting the calls.

this number called 2 days in a row... when I called back, goes to vm saying they're pg&e energy saving assistance program

This number called me around lunch time, but I didn't pick up the call and let  go to the voicemail. They didn't leave me any messages.

Unwanted call from PGE about 1x per month.  2 times this week and twice today!!!

Someone from this number 408-419-1890 called and said that they are from PG&E to get you to sign up for energy discount if qualify.  

It is a company saying they are PG&E trying to get you to sign up for energy efficient improvements to your home.
