yes i too got a call and had them do a computer analysis thinking they were from microsoft. as he kept talking i asked him is this goin to cost me anything, he didn't answer went all the way to the end then
he tried to do a sales pitch and asked for my cc#. Heck NO. I told him i have no money right now, then he pressured me and asked me when will i get money, I told him I DONT KNOW, then i told him better yet
give me your phone number and if I am intersted I'll call you. He hesitated. Fricken jerk. Already I knew
he was a damn scammer, so i told him I don't know but I'll call you because I want to make sure i'm not getting scammed. BS. Took his number down and found this website. Amen. I've learned my lesson not to
give idiots my cc information although i dont' have one.

Not sure how but they got my cell phone and called me there.  Same story, calling from Microsoft Tech Support about someone hacking my computer and doing illegal things with my IP address.  Gave me the phone number 315-506-4554 to call and verify his story.  Heavy indian accent and very pushy.

Googled the phone number he gave me and found this site while still on the phone with him, then proceeded to tell him to go F himself and hung up.

Thanks for keeping people informed.

Caller identifying as Daniel Smith said he was calling from "Windows Support Service Center" about error messages on my computer. I said I don't use the computer very often. He wanted to talk to the main computer user and I said they weren't available (because yes, unfortunately at times I feel I have to screen my own calls) but I would take a message. He wanted to know when they would be back and I told him we would get his number and verify this was a legitimate call before phoning back (I knew it wasn't). After much assertive reiteration that we would be the ones taking control and doing the phoning back should this be deemed legitimate he actually gave me the phone number and insisted I ask for Daniel Smith when I phone back (I'm not going to call back).

that retard richard dawson called my mom on mosthers day to friggin scam her! of course she noticed her computer having problems a few days prior to the phone call. and of course when the phone rings my poor mom listened and obeyed as this richard dawson told her he could fix the problem.. she granted him complete access to her computer. lucky for her she called me during this process to explain to me what was going on as this richard character was scrolling around her computer. and yes richard even gave her a windows id# of MSRSR787286. so what? i told my mom to power down and unplug the ethernet cord. told her to cancel and supend all banking. the damage has been done he had access to the computer for over half an hour. who knows what he put in there.. i infact even called this richard fellow back on behalf of my mom. im expecting some sort of menu with self help options or a professional to answer the phone. instead what do i hear.. i hear a "hello" thats it... sounded east indian and it sounded like he was standing outside in a windy parking lot on a cell phone. i asked him why it was so windy he said it was the server fans... now my moms computer has been accessed planted with whatever the retard wanted to put in it. hes a pro. he knew her phone number, her name, microsoft licence number. they tell you what you want to hear. thats how they get trust. i told my mom to call a legit microsoft number, they told her she was scammed. be aware of these things people. its dirt bags like that guy that make your life miserable. now my mom is in fear of money loss and identity theft. she already said she is never doing online banking ever again.

My Richard Dawson call came from this # 441.332.92729.  He said he was in CA and his # was 315-506-4554.  This scammer called me on May 4, 2012 with the same computer repair story saying he was from Microsoft tech dept. and would help me repair the problem before my computer went down and was ruined.  He wanted me to charge money to get a Microsoft license renewed.  All lies.  Don't fall for it.  Report it to the police too.

This same thing happened to me on 5/4/12 but the call came from a different # 441-332-92729.  He said he was with Microsoft and would help save my computer from virus attack/complete shut down.  He connected into my computer...eventually tried to get my credit card # and other info necessary HE SAID to purchase a 5 year Microsoft license since mine was now revoked.  It is all a scam.  I am in fear for my accounts and personal identity info now.  Has the police been able to do anything about this R. Dawson with the Indian accent?

I cancelled my visa card once I saw these comments.. since I got a call the next evening from a 1888 number saying they were going to fix the scammers damage from the day before... and they said they were legitimate since they knew my address (They could have gotten it from the guys the night before)  It was Richard Dawson, identification number  27160 and Colin Thomas as the technician (I think the Dawson character was the one working the technical stuff).  Indian accent.  They were able to move my mouse and everything, closing dialogue boxes.  I am going to take my computer to a technician and have saved everything.  I will get another computer for internet.  The number is a Californian number. I am such an idiot for trusting people.

Yep, same and I fell for it, allowed him to remotely get into my computer, after I called the office number to verify it existed, and saw "calling Tomas" run thru my computer "fixing it". They then tried to sell me software that would take care of it, that when I disconnected ASAP. Not good. Make me wander what damage is done

I just got a call from this number. Same thing, my computer was about to crash, and/or hackers.
He identified himself as Richard Davidson in California but by his accent, I think he was in India.

Caller knew my name and stated he was from a company I don't remember.  He told me my computer was having errors and had a virus on it.  I asked him what kind of computer I was using and he guessed a laptop.  I then asked him what brand and he tells me Microsoft Office.  Next he tells me he works for Microsoft and I told him no thank you and hung up.
