Dialer.Inproc.B uses the modem to place expensive calls to long-distance numbers or pay-per-minute 1-900 lines. There are many variations of dialers, each programmed to call a different phone number. This particular version is a new variant discovered in 2005. Dialer is a Trojan horse, usually secretly installed when the user gives a Web site permission to install software.

I've been getting calls from this number, usually just a message saying "Hello" or gets cutoff. Annoying.

Yeah they just called again asking John Grimm. Thats twice today.

This number came up on my cell ... first time today. Did not answer, they did not leave a message. Will see if this starts to be a trend.

these people keep calling my cell. They have called daily for over a month; they never leave a message and I do not know the number. After googling the number I am even more concerned and want them to stop! I have no business with them and if they think I do, they should leave a message! Thank you for any assistance in stopping these nuisance calls!

Rickenbacker company called me from Morgan Hill CA for Lynda Willis. I told the guy that there is no body by this name. The guy was rude. I called back and asked to talk to the representative. They put me to the message recorder. I don't want this company to call us. We are registered for not getting any commercial calls on this number. -  M.Singh

I got a call from Rickenbacker. They asked for somebody named Lynda Willis. I told the guy to disclose this name or identification. He was rude.I told him that there is no body by the name Lynda Willis and that how he got our name. He hanged the phone. The phone ID on my phone for this number was from Morgan Hills, California. My number is listed for not receiving commercial calls. I don't want him to call me/us again. I wonder why a collection agency would call me for Linda Willis.

I'm living temporarly at a friends house.  My car gets stolen 10ft from his front door.  5days later I get call that my 98' escort was discovered missing all four tires and had been towed to the lot.  I signed over the car to the lot.  2 years layer I get a letter from Rickenbacker demanding  payment of $1000 for 'holding' the car.  Creeps.

I found this site researching the aforementioned number since I do not answer calls from numbers I do not know for this reason.  I also sold a car to a "friend" who said they would take care of the paperwork with the DMV and 2 years later start recieving notices that it was in a tow yard and tow charges are due.  Now I know to avoid these sleaze balls .  Thanks for the 411

Been getting calls from this number for months. Never have answered the phone because they are afraid to identify themselves on Caller ID, telling me they are up to no good and are scammers. They are wasting their time if they think I will ever answer, and furthermore, I don't even have an answering machine or voice mail so they can't start leaving annoying messages to us either. I don't have any reason that a collection agency would call me so they have the wrong number anyway. Idiots.

Call your phone service carrier and have them reset your phone, then report these morons to the Atty Generals Office.

The ID did not say "Rickenbacker", but the number matches.  My elderly father was sleeping when this call came in.  Since I didn't recognize the number, I answered the phone and immediately hung up.  Our phone has been in a state of "busy/off the hook" ever since.  My father is ill and he needs to be able to use the phone in case of an emergency.  I'm going to try to find a way to sue them.

I received a canned message saying that "... the party in calling has a matter of great business importance to discuss with you...," then gave a 1-888 number to call.  As Rckenbacker deals in auto stuff, I am not returning the call and am blocking their number.  I have not, personally, lived in CA for over 20 years, nor purchased a car in well over 30.

same deal rickenbacker...they deal in automoive stuff alot like lien sales and impond stuff, in my case? I sold the car to how shall I say it? a brethern form south of the border who did not complete the registration for what ever reason and so the car has sat in impound I guess...I have told them I sold it and they refuse to budge saying dmv sez...I have explained this and they demand I prove it so I tell them to disprove it, and thus the shouting match continues.
They are pretty rude really, they call at 615 am very often, it goes to some sort of auto function till a live person can get on the line I guess.
I consider it a badge of honor for a tow yard to file  this against my credit report, I give a rip less, the ironic part is that the rep I have spoken with doesnt come across as an english speaker as a first language to begin with so I figure they know exactly how this plays out and arent interested in tagging the guy who I sold this car to at all. Just knowing dmv is responsible for all this by playing hardball.

I also sold a car to a guy who turned around and resold it to two guys who got it impounded and then the tow people sold it and then claimed that I still owned it. They put $785.00 on my credit report as an unpaid public debt.  I disputed it with the credit reporting agencies, but they said that city records still say that I own it.  So they would not remove it.  You can send $5.00 to the city to have them record that you sold your car when you sell it.  They call me all the time.  I have now put them on my phone reject list.  These guys are sleazy scam artists.

yep rickenbacker, I checked my credit report and found a car I had sold 4 yrs ago has been in an impound yard, I called the yard ( 310 314 4040 )and they of course gave me some raw jaw, and I called ricnbacker and went round with them so now?
Lets get it straight? at this risk of sounding like a racist? I sold the car to a person from south of the border okay? this white guy aint payin the middle eastern tow yard owner.Catch my drift here?
I get these calls that no one answers to like the rest of you here, it is a form of harassment to be sure, any one want to file a class action suit?

I just got a call from an Adriana somebody today April 21st, 1009.  It gave me options to say if home but not avial, press 1, or if not there, on my cell phone, but I think somethings up, my cell phone is now doing things by itsefl. I'd like to see if people are getting calls on cell or home phones? There are companies that record and then send text msgs to phone and you have to 'unsubscribe' or it charges you, don't ever give out your cell number along with your carrier on anything including job boards, all scammers, and they can make money of the unwanted text msgs, and you have to send a special keyword to unsubscribe even if you haven't it's buried in the txt msg somewhere.  Look at all unwanted spam text msgs, cause at least at home on internet you are not getting charged. So a report about this and a federal investigation into a large company doing this.  Beware.  Otherwise, people looking for debtors use skip trace and will link anything to find these people, they don't care, like if they walked out on a car loan or mortgage, the will trace names all of the U.S. even if never at that phone and address and name variations, it's very unerving, but I know due to working for a company where their collection dept. did this.

They have repeatedly called my number. A recording says they have an uncollected debt and that they are a collection agency. They refer to my name and a value amount of a debt. I don't have a debt such as they describe so I just hang up.

I get numerous calls from Rickenbacker also. About a year ago, I called to speak with management but apparently these people are so stupid that they can't figure out, and don't care that they have a wrong number. When I have actually answered the phone, and hear who they are looking for, I tell them that they have a wrong number and the person they are looking for does not and has never lived at my address. What is wrong with these people? I am convinced that they are not interested in actually finding the right person, they must get paid by the phone call, whether it is successful or not. What morons.... If anyone has any solution, please let all of us know!!!
