I got the call too, I'm in the 909 area code. It was a recording from "Heather" stating I could get a lower interest rate. Funny thing is, I have no credit cards!!!! Sometimes it's fun to mess with these idiots. Get them to the point where they think you're giving them all your personal info, then BAM! Make them feel uncomfortable with personal , wacky , off the wall questions. Haha!

Card services IS A SCAM IS GOING AROUND HERE IN UTAH!!!  Don't give any info..  Just a heads up!!!!

Just got a call from this number this morning but didn't answer and they left no message. (626) area code here, so they are calling everywhere.

Yep--- I got a call this morning. The guy with a heavy accent stated he was not a Collector -- my accounts were in good order and because I had a good credit rating he was able offer me a chance to lower my credit card rate to 6%. However I had to owe MORE than $3000 on a card from Chase ---Wells Fargo--- or Bank of America to qualify for his deal.   He next asked for my credit card number----Duh!!! ----guess not----of course I hung up.

I first received these calls in 2008 after staying at a gilroy RV lark. They claimed to be a collection agency fir the RV lark. They clained we owed 2 months rent even though we only stated there 2 days. They calked 3 tines thus mining over a  12 minute period. Whoever is doing this had access to phone, credit card info used at RV park first week of bay 2008. I gave calked RV park. Supposedly tagged gad 3 different anagers in a 2 month period, two if whom were foreigners.

I live in Phoenix az area code 602 and missed the call this morning. No message.

Called me and I missed it. Called them back. Looks like a scam. Report them to the FCC.

Just got 2 calls from this number. I answered the first one and there was no response. Didn't answer 2nd and no voicemail was left.

Got a recorded message from this number today. Recorded message states that "your credit card account is in good standing. There is no problem but you are eligible for a lower rate. Press 1 to speak to a customer representative?"  This number is a registered landline number in Gilroy, CA.  No identifiable information is given. This is a SCAM. Report to FCC and FTC.

Cowardly computers run by folks with nothing but greed on their minds.   Keep reporting these numbers, I use sites like this ALL the time!

Just received a call on my cell. I never list my cell number on anything but slipped up this morning while signing up for Groovebook...hope it's simple coincidental but that's a big coincidence.

Identical number (408) 842-5948 and date (8 Jan 2014). No message left. Gilroy, California. Blocking now. Thanks for posting.

Yes, someone called my mobile at 1:43 MST.  I answered; caller hung up.  Cowards!

Also receiving calls. Since it is my cell phone. I never answer a number I don't recognize. That is what messages are for.
Really hate this.  Do not call list is a joke. I get so many solicitation calls.

Received this number minutes ago. They hung up. I have put their phone number on my 'Reject Contact' in my Android phone. And thanks for the comments above.

I found the Ernest J. name earlier too.  Scary part is the calls are all over the country based on these posts today.  I am Virginia Beach, VA, (757), saw the 547 and u are 661.  No one has mentioned if they are asking for us by name.  Wondering if when they get voicemail they record name or if they already have it.  The randomness of the areas called indicate some sort of purchased list, so they likely have some sort of info beyond the phone number they are dialing.  I hope that no one is giving out their personal information to these scammers.  I am curious why they are hanging up on some of the callers that posted here.  Wonder if they want to get VM, hoping to get a name.  Like I said, not sure if they will call again, but I plan to answer and post any pertinent information.  I work for "THE" phone company and plan on doing a little more research and ultimately something about this if, in fact, they are trying to take people for a ride.

I just got a call as well.  Looked up the number and it's registered to an Ernest Johanssen.  This guy died in 2003.  Whatever happened to the Do Not Call List?

Would be curious to know since these calls based on our posting times are so very close together if we are all in the same area or at least have the same area code.  Just wondering if they are running down a call list or actually have a list they purchased including various peoples and areas.  My number is a 757.

Yeah, they call and if you don't answer they hang up.  Any legit business does not do this, so beware and tell them to lose your number. I plan on answering next time and getting as much info as I can.  If it's worth posting i'll do so.
