i just posted on craigslist and now there calling me

I called 'em back and was able to get a real person. I deceided to 'play' with 'em a bit and talked jibberish and would not let them cut in for a second. Accomplishment? 0%.....Entertainment?...100%

I posted on CL for my son, using HIS number, but having to give mine to CL for account code verification (CL is so fancy now!) and they have called me non-stop for the last half hour.  I have a place for them in my phone, I created a 'contact' with no ringtone, so, I don't even have to ignore them now.  Sheesh.

So - to be clear - CL post does NOT have my number, but CL does.

This MoFo calls said I have a dept. I said send me the bill. said he did and I was the one agressive with this crack head. This is harrasment and I will not put up with their crap!!!!

Called me selling vacations.  I just had a posting on craigslist a few days ago.

I also recently posted on Craiglist and being in the sales business, answer the phone at every opportunity but after listening to a bit tried to get off the phone with them.  They keep calling back and won't quit.  Very annoying.  This company said they were Diamond Vacations out of Daytona Beach but the number showed up from Beaumont, TX

I get calls everyday from 409 299 3653.  I told them today if they call again I will call the FL Attorney General and ask him to ask them to quit calling.  

AG won't act on one person's complaint.  But if he gets several, they will look into their scam.  So, call your state's Attorney General and file a complaint.  Takes a few minutes on line.

Glad I saw these reviews so I can know of this next time! All of these are 100% correct. The lady was very pushy and annoying and when I said I wasn't interested, she whined that she hadn't even said anything yet. (Trust me: I don't need to hear you say anything!) It was typical with all the voices in the background. For some reason she seemed to know my name - I don't know where she got my number! She had a strong nasily accent and was talking about some Las Vegas resort thing?

This has just been the first call, but I get any more (and I hope I won't!) I'll know what to expect. :)

Always calling?

ok.. you will get a kick out of this.. some indian lady just called me from this number and argued with me because i wanted her to take my name off their list of people to call.. it was about some open house at south fork( a trailer park) and she wanted to offer me free plane tickets.. no lie!

i am tired of answering my phone every night exactly at 8:22 pm and no one is talking and when i call back it is an answering machine said it is a reservation center .any one has any idea how can i stop then from calling my number ?what should we do about this?

The comments about this solicitor / scammer, obtaining our phone numbers from Craigslist, Facebook, or others similar, are correct. I've no doubt they have an available program to automatically "harvest" phone numbers from these sites, that wil in turn directly dial out to (us) for the solicitors / scammers purpose. Guaranteed this is an efficeint method for their scams / call centers.

Believe this - if you have knowledge, and or use of a website that people publish their phone numbers on, then rest assured, they (solicitors / scammers) know about these sites too, and will use them to their advantage.

There are always scammers / crooks operating at any given time, whether it's a good economy or a bad one. Unfortunately, in this "computer / technology" age, it makes their goal of illicit activity, much easier.

i have listings on Craigslist and they called me 6 times in a row even when I said I was busy and hung up. I have blocked their number but it makes me mad that Craigslist does nothing with scammers

Yup, I just got a phone call. Asking for my name and number to be connected to a central reservation specialist. I too have stuff posted on Craigslist. Total SCAM!!!

This happened to me just now. I'm 17, but i do not use Craigs List or post my number on anything accept face book.

I got a call from them tonight, saying that they are having a grand opening in vegas that i won tickets to. i told then i am not interested and to stop calling me. she kept talking and wouldn't shut up so i finally started yelling at her to stop calling me and i will report her. she finally hung up and my phone started doing a weird beeping that ive never had happen before.

Yes they are scammers,  and the above poster is absolutely right. my number is listed on craigslist for a lost pet. This company called saying they were from Anchor Bay Vacations located in Illinois. They did not know my name but said they got my number as a referral from family and friends. I created a google voice number for the sole purpose of posting the lost pet ad so I know they are scammers because my family and friends dont even know the google voice number its only for craigslist. They said this is not a sales call, but that I won 2 roundtrip tickets anywhere in the continental US and alI had to do was give them my information and come to their grand reopening celebration in Gurnee, IL to pick up my "prize". I asked for their website and was told it's under maintenance.  I asked to speak to a supervisor and proceeded to ask how they got my number but no name from a referral, he kept trying to claim it wasn't to sell anything. When I asked for an address the "supervisor" hung up the phone. They both had heavy Indian accents. All the time I'm talking to them  I'm googling the name of the company and there are a ton of people who have identified them as scammers. Beware.

I believe calls from this number as well as from several other numbers result from listing something on Craigslist.These scammers must have some program that harvests phone numbers from new listings and then calls the phone number.contained in a Craigslist listing. I believe that they are using SKYPE for their calls, which originate overseas.  DO NOT ANSWER OR RESPOND TO THEIR CALLS!!!
