They are also using 810-370-3814 along with 409-539-7371. Then when you tell them they are scammers they get mad and say "f**k you many times. Then he called back and I screamed in the phone not to call me again so then he called and said oh I love you many times. What a wacko!

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I received the same call today saying if I didn't pay $875 today the State Police would be issuing a warrant for my arrest so I called the state police and they told me the government doesn't work  that way. They also said it was the third complaint today. 05/28/2014 I also wish they would do something about these scammers.

I received a call from 409-539-7371 as well. They called my place of employment. He had an accent. And this is not the first time that they have called.

I have received a total of 13 calls from this number just today.  They also have an app that they are using to call and it appears to be calling from you own cell phone number.  Jason Thomas states he is an officer with the Federal Trade Commission.  I advised him that he was committing fraud stating he was calling from an American Government Federal Office.  This in turn is why I am positive that I have received 12 more calls.  Very heavy Indian accent.  I have called the FTC and filed a complaint as well I have filed with the Ohio State Attorney Generals office.  

I would HIGHLY recommend contacting the FTC as they are the office that these FRAUDULENT scammers are stating they are from.

If anyone calls you with an Indian accent threatening you or for that matter offering you something, tell them that you know they are scammers and tell them to go to hell!  Do it loudly.

He told his name was Officer dave watson!

middle eastern man calling saying his name was officer dave watson and I have a serious allegations against me and my ss number and I needed to call him back right away or they need to hear from my attorney. researched the number and it came back Galveston TX , BUT it did not match up with the local police dept. numbers or numbers in Galveston TX.  The number that called is different than the one number he said to call. this is getting real old! how do you put a stop to this? Do you call your local authorities?

There was a middle eastern man that called and left a message on my voicemail that his name was.    Officer jason bell from the federal trade commision and there were fedral chharges. Against my social cesurity number.  He advised me to call me on this number to help resolve this matter.   I figured it had to be a scam.     I         have.                                                  
Never given out my social security number ever.

The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.

According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.

The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim?s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims? relatives, friends, and employers.

I just returned a call to these people after going round and round with this guy who said I had federal charges being brought on by Cashnetusa( never ever taken a payday loan with this company) I informed him that unless I received a letter by mail, which I would be getting if I defaulted on a payday loan I wouldn't speak to them any further. Then another Indian man grabbed the phone and said that this guy was a a***ole and a jerk who scams people out of money all day everyday. I was floored. I would never just randomly hand over money unless I had proof and he wasn't giving me any proof... He also answer the phone federal trade commision, then pretended to transfer me to himself . This is a total scam! They bought our information from a company.

A MAN WITH A HEAVY MIDDLE EASTERN ACCENT CALLED SAYING THAT THEY WERE CALLING FROM THE FTC LEGAL DEPARTMENT SAYING THAT I HAVE A CIVIL SUITE FILED AGAINST ME. THEY EVEN HAD MY FULL SS# WHICH SCARES THE HECK OUT OF ME. I ASKED THEM QUESTIONS ON WHERE THEY ARE LOCATED SO I CAN TURN THEM IN TO THE CONSUMER FINANCIAL PRTECTON BUREAU. THE MAN SAID THEY WERE LOCATED IN GALVESTON TEXAS. ASKED FOR FOR THE ZIP CODE AND THE MAN TRANSFERRED ME TO HIS SUPERVISOR (ANOTHER HEAVY MIDDLE EASTERN ACCENT) AND HE GAVE ME A ZIPE CODE AND THEN SAID THEY WERE LOCATED IN JACKSONVILLE, FL. I TOLD HIM THAT THE OTHER GUY SAID THEY WERE IN TEXAS. OF COURSE HE HUNG UP ON ME. I WISH THE FBI CAN SHUT THEM DOWN.
