first, I received call from 911. a lady saying herself as police officer and she gave me phone number (410)-246-5303 and said I have charges against me for IRS fraud and told me to call (David Cooper) on the number above. And when I tell him to email me he started saying that i will have to be in court at 10 in washington DC. SO IF ANY ONE RECEIVES CALL FROM 911 OR SOME UNKNOWN NUMBER DON'T PICK UP OR HANG UP THE PHONE.

Prank Call
They are getting to my nerves - there have been at least a dozen calls. Nowadays they call from anonymous numbers but since they want to scam me, they still need me to call back at 410-246-5303

Hope the FBI traces back to these numbers and jail them for menacing society

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

ABC News released an investigative report on this scam a year ago:

Got a call from phone number 410-246-5303 posing as folks from federal crime dept, telling us that we owe money to IRS and unless paid in the next hour via green money pak that is sold in Rite Aid or Radio Shack, I will be arrested. He told us that he had no other choice than to go ahead with it if the money failed to reach treasury within an hour. For some reason it did not look or sound right to me. But I still went to Rite Aid to check it out. The lady who tried to help me, also did not agree with the nature of the call. I thought about it and he called again to check on status. By then I was convinced it was a scam and told him that I was not paying, and he could do whatever he wanted. He yelled back saying - go spend the night in jail as officers will be taking me in , in another 30 minutes. This was so clear to me that it was a full fledged scam.

What is it with these crooks that they seem to have to use a Famous TV personality or known Character from a TV show?  Although I've no doubt  that there's more then one person with like name, it seems to be a real love of using the TV shows. Think I've seen at least 3 Special Agent GIbbs in the posts..  one even saying from CSI!   <guessing they don't know their shows very well either>

Amusing to some extent!

Report the call to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General.  Bottom line - no one is given a heads up they'll be arrested - the cops just show up.  It sounds like scammers trying to scare you into paying for a debt you either don't owe or have paid off already.  Next time they call, tell them that you're recording them on the advice of your attorney (even if you don't have one) for multiple violations of the FDCPA.

I had someone call me, stating they were calling from the Florida state county, there was a warrant for my arrest, the charges were fraud, I should tell you this was on my voice mail, and I needed to call 410-246-5303 and when I did no one answered, the phone number is a location in Baltimore Maryland......I racked from brain for two hours trying to figure out what the warrant could be, but I knew that I hadn't done anything......this is frickin bull crap, these people should be exposed, as far as I am concerned they are stepping way out of line and some time of action be taken with them....

claimed to be a deputy with the mo state police saying they were coming to arrest me, had personal info but would not give me information about the claim against me, only wanted me to settle claim. Denied he (Jason Washington) had called me pretending to be police officer. Gave me a website of a federal agency, but when I called them, I was informed it was a scam and the individual was trying to steal from me and to call police.
