A lady named Tina Powers calls and claims to be from Capital Investigative Services saying she has a case number NC#### (i won't put the numbers)saying that she needs to discuss an incident that was reported. I am convinced she is a  debt collector. They sound convincing and realistic. Trust me if you were in trouble with someone you'd know they were calling. Or they'd at least generalize a company name or a first name of a person involved without going into detail. What they are using is scare tactics to get you to call them back. It really is a rouse. Hell try being me the person who simply wants to keep an old phone number with that once had idiots living under my roof that had multiple debts. I have them all figured out :p

I got a call from Tina Powers saying she was from Capital Investigative Services saying that I have a complaint filed against me and that court action would take place if I did not respond immediately.  The message she left sounded very real, and I am glad I googled this number to see that it was really a scam. I agree with an above poster--if it is not in writing it does not exsist. Any real court proceedings must be in writing and "served" to all people involved. DON'T GIVE OUT ANY INFO AND DON'T FALL FOR THIS!!

read up on the Fair Debt Collection Act, legit business comes in writing, there's a statue of limitations on old debt.  Look at comments from 216-393-0456 notice the dates.  Theese people gave up on the 216 area code when too many people complained.  Read the stories, theese people may change their number and name, but they never change their script.  Live by the rule if it's not in writing with contact information that you can bring to your lawyer THEN IT DOES NOT EXSIST!!

The person named Rachel must work for the company.  It is AGAINST the law to do what this company is doing.  DO NOT PAY THEM A THING.  No company can suck money out of your bank account without a judgment against you.  First they have to sue you and then serve you.  They can't just take your money.  These companies buy old debt that has run the statute of limitations and then try and collect.  If you pay even one penny after the Statute of limitations has run, it starts all over again and then they can legally collect.  If you choose to call them tell them that you want proof of the debt sent to you in the mai.  Tell them you have already contact th FTC and your local Attorney Generals office.

Got a call today, same thing, female told me of an investigation and she asked me to get a pencil so that I could write down a reference (claim) number and she would then transfer me to another individual.  She stated that it was concerning a debt.  I told her I had no debts, and only one credit card (lucky me) and have not had any problems with creditors in the past.  She said "Oh yes you do".  I told her (pretty loudly) don't talk to me about debts that I do not have.  She hung up.

This company has called me 3 times in the last month looking for a person that rented the house that I have lived in now for 5 years. She hasn't lived here for over 6 years. Being an upright citizen and not knowing who these scammers were, I called them back 2 times insisting I do not know this woman and please remove my number from the list. They continue to call, and yes they do sound like frankly uneducated people of color so I am not sure if the company is legit or not, you would think they would at least be able to hire people who speak proper english in this economy but who knows. This past time the man got very snotty with me but gave me his name-- Mike Profitt. He seems to be the supervisor although I doubt he can spell supervisor.
Anyway, if you call the FTC to lodge a complaint they will investigate. They also said the phone company may be able to block calls from them if they persist.

Knowing my rights as a consumer helps, if this debt is over 6 years old and I bet it was or they wouldn't have MY address for her, it is uncollectable at this point so they can't be too reputable. I bet ms ghetto tina is the one that put the comment on there about the bank account frozen. The fact that half the words were spelled incorrectly was my first clue.

I got a voicemail from this company today after being called by them no less than 3 times a day for the past month. I was getting bad reception at the time I first listened to it and so all I could hear was civil case this and legal judgement that. Of course I was scared out of my mind because that is the last thing I need. Speaking to me was some ghetto fab girl who sounded like she was reading something from a script. However, later on in the day I was able to listen to the message again and she says in a very "oh no she didn't tone"..."THIS MESSAGE IS FOR...IMER CLICKLE". Lol..it was at that point that I bursted out laughing because that isnt even close to being my first or last name. They are obviously a scam and I will not be calling them back. Let them make a case against Imer and I will be laughing about this for a while.

By the way, here is one of the many numbers used to operate out of Ohio 216-393-0456. There are at least 20-30 others they used in this suburb outside of Cleveland Ohio. They just get new cell phones in other states, and try to pull the same crap. Tina always calls back may be every few months but I know the voice and call her out on it everytime. If you are concerned check clerk of courts in your area and check with your law enforcement agency in your town, if their is a legit civil case they show up on clerk of courts sight, It is publicly available. They are a bunch of scammers who will phish you for any nugget of info they can get out of you, be careful!!!

Yeah she started this last summer with my family, first out of Ohio in the Cleveland area, now they seem to be in Maryland. Tina calls every few weeks and makes all these threats to which nothing has happened. I follow the clek of courts here in town and nothing has ever shown up in the courts, she tries to scare and intimidate. because I like to screw with her I will bring up Cleveland na d she backs down. I have told her I have been waiting since the last time she called for the police to show up and NOTHING!!. The one time I did receaive mail it was from a different company than who called and the letterhead was reproduced poorly on a crappy copy machine. The addresses on the letterhead didn't even match the address on the outer envelope. This whole thing is a scam and any of theese folks on here that say they got served and their accounts froze and such are a part of the scam. There are so many ghost numbers and fake agencies she and others call from that you couldn't list them all.She called a few minutes ago. I told her I had been waiting to see when she would call and where was my summons, and how was the weather in Cleveland or is it maryland now, she got pissy and hung up.There are legit compannies out there, but, she and her cronies are not one of them. They buy these wrote off debts for pennies and try to collect anything if they can, for their profit, don't fall for it.

Abrupt, ghetto-fabulous Tina called me. She tried to scare me with same as above threats. When she raised her voice, I asked to speak to her supv. When the Supv. got on; I explained to her that I would not tolerate such behavior as Ms Tina had exhibited. I told Her that if this had any thing to with collections that she should send it to me in writing and that I never had this card and that I don't know them from beans and that I know I can not be arrested for a civil complaint and the their address they had for me was incorrect. The Supv. stated that she understood and said that Tina had no business being unprofessional. I said or how about the fact that she is a liar? The Supv. again stated that she understood then abruptly hung up. I don't think I will hear from them again

these guys operate under several names and numbers. They first started their crap last summer. they were outts cleveland Oh. name they used was Wolfberg and Stein. They now seem to be using Maryland numbers now, but are calling about the same bogus stuiff. the social they gave me is not mine, and the debt is with someone I have never had a card with. from back in 2001. I got all this info from them, without giving any of mine. I gave yhe case number and they came back with someone elses name, after it took them about 20 min. to get the claim number right. They said they would "Investigate " this and call back. So now about once a week they call and try to do the same thing over and over. I just ask them if they fixed the problem and they keep saying no. I did call them out about being connected to the scammers out of Ohio. They got real defensive and hung up. As far as these posts about they are legit? I do not believe them. They cannot freeze accounts or take you to jail or any of the crap they claim they can do. They are supposed to contact you in writing. Especially if you tell them that is the only way you will communicate with them. civil complaints, jail, that for them is a scare tactic they love to use. Truth is they can't do any of that. I have called the FCC, I have spoken to agencies about these people. They are interested in hearing from you. I also called the Better Business Bureaus in the states involved.I must tell you all the funniest part is I finally recieved a bogus letter. The addresses did not match from the envelope to the letter, this supposed debt they referenced in the letter was not the same as the one they were trying to call about, and to top it all off they had printed it from some crappy computer printer that couldn't evem print straight on the paper.these people buy old debts that are 7 years old or more. The legit companies have sold this for pennies on the dollar. Any money they get they pocket. It is pure profit to them. There is no credit score improvement or any of the crap they say will happen. They will offer a small payout to payoff the debt. I am talking a 10,000 debt for 400.00. Why? It has nothing to do with the original creditor at all. They just want the money for their pockets. Think I am lying?. Backtrack their claim. I called the original creditor on this made up calim. They will start you off with the first creditor they sold the account to. Call them, callthe iones they sold them to. and on and on. In the end these people buy these over the statute claims to see if they can collect money. DON'T GIVE THEM ANYTHING. It also is a bit satisfying to call their bluff, they are speechless. the last time they called and threatened jail I told them I would be waiting. This was almost a year ago. No calims, no civel suits, no cops, nothing. They are full of crap and they know it. Even if it was a true civil matter. You cannotbe arrested for a civil matter, ask any cop or clerk of courts worker they will tell you the same thing. Theres a cop who lives next door to me,he took my report and said they are lying to everyone, and this is not the first calls from the public regarding these same idiots.

I received a call from this number and the caller "Tina Powers" said my neighbor left my number as a contact . My neighbor does not know me well enough to leave my middle name or my number with anyone. They are trying to reach my neighbor and left a message for me to give to him. I think they used his address to access me. The caller identified herself as a private investigator. I tried to pump her for info but she is very good. I know my neighbor did not give me as a contact. She said his phones were cut off and she could not reach him.

I got this too.. but honestly if you owe money to someone you haven't paid.. i am convinced it is a debt collector. They like to pretend they are someone they are not. The aggressiveness proves why they are trying to get the case number out of you. The reality is that case number references your debt account with them, they want to know who you are to see if they got a hit on the phone number they called, plus it is against the law to speak with anyone else but the debtor they have called.. I have a 750 credit score.. I pay my bills and i have to deal with someone elses debt calls merely since i have a phone number they once referenced over a year and half ago on an application and because i like bitching them out, it is MY phone number i refuse to change my phone number. As with anything the best advice is never ever give anyone your personal info over the phone that calls you.. unless of course you called them first and you are well aware of who they are and that they will be calling. I work for a cell phone company that does call backs for transferring service.. and i have to ask for personal info. But the people i am calling knew they requested to transfer their service. You likely owe this collection agency money.. My advice don't spend money you don't have and not pay your bills.. Give them the damn case number aqnd figure out what the hell they want (cuz really that isn't personal info they gave it to you, find out what the debt is) Otherwise if you are dodging them don't Peace

RECIVED  call from this number they left a message saying they were going to file a complaint in Hennepin County unless i responded with in 48 hours or they would take further action. They referenced a bogus case number.  Callers name was Anthony Jennings, indicating he was from Wolfbergh (or Bloomberg) and Stein. When I called back the Man that answered immediately began demanding to know the case number, phone number I was calling from and my name.  I did not give this information, i inquired as to what type of company they were, indicating tat i had never heard of them and that they were half way across the country from me.  The man claimed at this point that they were and investigative firm.  He then again asked my name, then said to me "do you expect me to guess your name from the 100's of people I have called today". He again asked my name, by this point there was no way i was going to give him any personal information.  The entire operation was unprofessional, the way they answered the phone etc... having working in business for some years now, i have a general idea about business phone etique, and the people conducting this operation clearly don't , the entire time I was talking to this man there was loud noise in the back ground.  I hung up as it was obvious I was not going to get any straight answer from this man or the company he claimed to represent.  Upon getting home I googled this ompany and found there are 2 other number so far assocated with this fake company, one of which is 410-878-7057.  I received a call from this last week but i ignored it at the time becuase on this call the message said they were a claims adjuster.  Turns out there are at least three number associated with this operation. LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR, THIS IS A SCAM, DO NOT GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION TO THESE PEOPLE.
