I just called the number back and they had some other person and removed my number from the calling list. Just call the number back and hit 0 to speak with someone.

They've called me once every couple of days for the past week but never leave a message. Probably a bill collector. Reverse phone lookup will only tell me that it's a landline in Ellicott City, MD unless I pay for more info. Everybody's trying a make a dollar!
Karen 2011-06-06 20:48:22 Unknown
I'm sure it's not a bill collector because we have good credit. I still wonder who it is calling all the time.
Sam 2011-06-06 20:48:22 Unknown
It is a bill collector. They're trying to claim I owe over $100 dollars on an AT&T bill from 10 years ago.... which was PAID IN FULL at the time. Who keeps records for over 10 years? So now I have to AGAIN, dig through everything to prove this was paid at the time. This is the FIFTH collection agency. They keep selling the "debt" to someone else who then starts in on this non-existent in the first place debt. The b***h who called today kept talking over me when I was trying to explain this to her.... when I finally said "listen to what I'm trying to tell you" out of exasperation, she informed me she wasn't going to because I... not her ME.... I was rude. What is trying to talk over someone? I'm not going to be bullied by these jackals and would rather pay a lawyer to get them to go away, than give them one penny. They don't CARE that the debt is not valid, they just want your money.... and would probably sell the "debt" to someone else who would just start in again even if you paid them.... it's a scam as far as I'm concerned.

Am getting multiple calls form this number daily - no message is ever left, although they stay on well after the voicemail has picked up.

They called twice today but did not leave a message. They are scumbags. I already sent them a cease-and-desist letter.

Gentlemen:
My phone's (301-xxx-xxxx) call log indicates that your automated dialer called my phone from 410-505-5305 (apparently a call center in Baltimore, MD) on November 11, 2010 at 10:48 a.m. The pre-recorded message began with a female voice asking for a person whom I do not know. I hung up immediately. I googled the phone number and traced it to your company. You are the owners of a debt collection agency.
I demand that you stop this nonsense immediately. I am not the person you are looking for. I have excellent credit, and I do not have any delinquent debts. You are using outdated information because I have had my phone number since November 2004. STOP calling my phone. If you persist, you will be violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
Yours truly,

Phone call from 410-505-8302 First National COllections.
I called and told them to cease phoning me. They asked who I was and i did not identify myself, told them to stop phoning this number

The Maryland Commission on Financial Regulation (MCFR) also inquired of FNCB on my behalf. Scott Carroll, Vice President of FNCB, replied to MCFR in a letter dated 12/6/2010: "I have removed the number from our system. No further calls will be made from our company to that number." Liar! My CallerID registered two calls to my number from 410-505-5305 on 12/7/2010.

Today, Dec 15, 2010, thirty days have passed since these morons received my first cease-and-desist letter. By law, they have to stop calling my phone within 30 days of receipt of my letter. They last called on Dec 7, 2010. If they call again, I can look forward to making an easy $1,000 from them.
Hank52 2010-12-03 01:15:38 Unknown
They are really morons. They called three times today but did not leave a message. They have 30 days from the receipt of my first communication in which to discontinue all calls. After Nov 15, I will turn over my documentation to a lawyer.
Hank52 2010-12-02 04:34:14 Unknown
Update: The last call from FNCB was on 11/24/2010, so it has been a week without hearing from these morons. They are morons because I had to send two cease-and-desist letters to make them stop.

Barry Gold (likely a fictitious name) left a message on my answering machine today. He called from 775-322-0444 (a Nevada area code and number). Not stating whom he worked for, he said he had received my letter, and he wanted me to call him back. Dream on. I don't talk to debt collectors. I will have a lawyer talk to them if they don't stop. I already sent them a 2nd and last warning letter.
