Please stop excusing the actions of fraudsters. If they were indeed honestly "attempting to help others," they wouldn't be spoofing Caller ID. The call I got tonight from this number was ID'd as someone named Charlotte Walla. There are many cases on record here of people whose names and numbers have been used by hustlers to spoof Caller ID. Also, please spare us the "politely say no" instructions. Whatever discourtesy an unwanted caller may get from a victim pales in comparison to the invasion of privacy that prompted it. I think we already know how to be polite to those who have been polite to us.

Caller ID came up as D Wallace. Another commenter says it is a call from Value Village soliciting donations. Value Village/Unique Thrift is a series of commercial retails stores in the Baltimore area. Why are they sending caller ID information that doesn't identify them? What are they trying to hide?

Value Village/ National Children's Center. People attempting to help others. They don't know what you may be doing, so they cannot tell if they are interrupting. Politely say no if you prefer not to donate. They get rejected all day, every day. They can take it.

Called in the middle of my Sunday/football nap. Didn't leave a message. I wish a pox on the caller and the caller's family.
