Thank you for posting the truth.  Market research is an opportunity to be heard and to provide input that affects you and people like you -- ultimately with the goal of trying to understand what makes you happy.  To be clear, not ALL studies are paid (like the one you're referring to), but many are!

While I understand that it's annoying to get calls when you're busy doing something else, I respectfully suggest that you not answer the phone when you don't want to be bothered by outside disturbances.  We do not always leave messages because some people find THAT annoying too.  Instead, we tell our interviewers to leave a message every couple of days or so, so you at least understand why we're trying to reach you.  As I've replied in other posts, the best way to stop the calls is to answer the phone and ask us not to call you back for that study.  Or, you can call us back to tell us that, if you prefer.

A good market research company will respect the wishes of the people who we are inviting to participate in our research studies.  If you don't want to participate, the best way to be removed from the list is to pick up the phone and (respectfully) tell us not to call again for that study.

Thank you for giving it a chance (and for posting the clarity about the DNC list)!  Glad to hear you had a pleasant experience - that's our goal!

We are not scamming.  What do you based that conclusion on?  We are doing legitimate research.  We aren't selling anything.  No one will contact you (to try to "sell" you something) as a result of your participation in any of our studies, because they're confidential -- results are reported in the aggregate only.

I have participated in surveys with them.  This is a legitimate market research public opinion company that various companies hire to get your feedback via surveys on things they want to improve or find out just how satisfied you are with a services, how you make decisions on a subject, product or company or how you feel about different current issues.  Visit www.wbaresearch.com  for more information.  Also, if you don't want to be called. Just politely say, "No. Thank-you" or "Remove from your list".  Since everyone has cell phones that is no way to tell exactly what time zones some people are in. If you have an Eastern Time Zone number but live in California. They assume you are Eastern Time Zone. Although in actuality you live in Pacific time zone.  But is a real company that keeps your information confidential

Survey
This is a market research company. They are contracted by different companies to ask for feedback. They aren't out to get your private information like the super paranoid, Hank Van Hansz actually thinks. Your healthcare company hired a market research company (WB&A in this case) to figure out how they are doing. Its just so they can improve your care. Yes, these calls can be annoying, but simply state in a polite way that you would rather not participate in the survey.

Saying you would like to be placed on the "Do Not Call" list will get you nowhere because this policy only applies to telemarketers. This is market research where they are not selling you anything or calling for financial gain. They are gathering data to try improve your life as a consumer.

PS: Don't mistreat the person conducting your survey. They are just doing their job. They also have your full name, phone number and address.

Apparently has access to private health information and they want more than that. So much for health privacy laws. You and your privileged info are always for sale. Don't tell them diddly.

They are a market research company and so the DNC list does not apply to them. It only applies to telemarketers or those companies soliciting or selling items.  One of their staff were nice enough to explain this to me.  I received a call to participate in a survey. I decided to answer the questions and it was pretty quick.  I guess I have no complaints.

I have a new phone number and did something really stupid, I called the 495 toll company to complain about a ticket and I gave them my cell phone number "in case they lost connection with me."

They dropped the ticket after reviewing the video that showed I clearly paid the toll but three days later (today) this number called me twice.  I have not given this number to anyone except for the 495 toll folks, they are clearly selling information.

Thanks everyone for posting the info you know about this annoying phone number.  Since it isn't a 1-800 number, the local exchange made it seem that 410-721-0500 is a legit number.  I'm glad I Googled the number.  And no, I have not applied for state or federal assistance so they must get people's numbers another way.

You guys should really stop freaking out.  If you actually participate in the research you get paid.  Research is always a good thing, people learn from it.  Plus I am being paid $50 to take a survey.  Maybe you should stop thinking about how busy your own lives are.

I just received a call from this number and didn't answer as I screen odd numbers that call me.  They did leave a message-young girl from some marketing research company wanting to interview my daughter on why she chose the college she did.  Odd, how all of our info we have given we have been assured it would not be sold for other purposes.

Survey
It is a market research company that simply does surveys for companies that have hired them to do surveys on their part. If you don't wish to be called you could ask for your name and number to be removed and it will. But the do not call list is not honored for market research companies as far as getting our numbers. They don't sell anything that's also apart of the reason your number is still allowed to be giving to them. Don't be mad just answer and say do not call me please, as opposed to letting in ring and go to voicemail or answering and saying I'm busy or I don't have time.
