got a called from so called officer david brown from federal crime department.. scam .. ignore??? im reporting it to my bank and soical security office..

I also got a call from the same person, calling himself Officer David Brown. I knew it was a scam call, because when i asked my name to him, he said he can't know. I said an agent would know what name and number they're calling. And i told him that he'll be in trouble if he keeps calling me that I'll call the police. And he didn't call me back!

Received a phone call from Officer David Brown from Federal Crime Investigative Department.  He spoke with an accent in which I could not understand him.  He then transferred me to a Derrick or Danny Jones (agian with an accent so I am not sure I got his name correctly.  I was given a file number. And told from the email address and phone he was calling me on, that I took out a cash loan on line for 350 dollars that was depositied into my account.  When they tried to get their funds later the funds were not there.  He gave a date, in which I told him first I did not do business with the company he spoke and when googling that company does not exist.  Second The date and year he gave me when I did this with the phone number and email he cited.  I told him that had to be incorrec because the work number he has and the email I did have until after Sept.  I told him I want to check my bank statements to verify that money from this company was placed in my account.  To take care of the matter I was to pay 987 dollars which include all fees, otherwise they will appear at my job at 5:30 pm to arrest me.  Is there a number to call to report this so that it stops?  I do not think they understand a Federal Investigation Department, I am sure, cannot receive funds that way.  I also think they are not aware the debt collection can not threaten a person with arrest.

when are we going to stop these people from calling with harrassing information.............

i got the same call from 410-864-0402 says i owe for a cash advance i got a year ago i ended up paying 200.00 dollars but when i called on the weekend it wouldnt go through so i thought somthing was up so i ended up looking on the internet and i ended up finding it out it was a scam i knew it i lost 200.00 dollars i am turning them in now

I have been receiving calls from this number also on my cell and at work.Officer John Matthews from Federal crime dept. in Baltimore,Maryland.Saying that i took out a loan from Money Cash Advance in 2008.Continually harrassing me saying that there is a warrant out for my arrest,I need to pay $1800.00 restituition.Has called work and insisted to talk to my boss.Told her all the same things that i was going to be arrested.When you ask for proof that you did it he says he cant provide you with that info.Told me i had to fax a copy of my drivers license.He knew all my info.address,moms name,bank account info.I closed my checking acct and opened another one.I had my debit card info stolen 2 years ago and someone wiped out my checking account doing online transactions.bought an airline ticket to Greece.Please beware.This is a scam!!!Report to the FTC and attorney General where you live.He speaks very bad english and hesitates when he says his name.

this jerk called 11 times on friday 9 times today notified the local police they called and was cussed by officier christopher mark yea right they left messages saying my husband needed to contact them before something happened to him they continue to call my sons cellphone the local police said they will take it to the da in ft worth but i doubt it stop i wish they would just leave me alone by the way they never say what they want from my husband but the calls get more threatening by the day officer habib needs to leave me alone i dont think they are in this country because they have no fear of police or th ftc

I just received this same phone call. Saying that I owed money to Money Cash Advance. and when asked when was it done all he could tell me was around 2010 but it was against the law for him to give me the exact date it was supposedly done.

I received the same type of call from a Henry Scott with broken english.  Wanted to put his supervisor on the line. When I asked what it was about gave me a case file no but said he could give me no more information. Don't know what he was talking about. Sounded real fishy.  How did you stop the calls?

I GET CALLS AS WELL THEY EVEN CALLED AT WORK CLAIMING THY WERE W/A FEDERAL DEPT? SAME #4108640402 CLAIMN I OWE 300.00 FRM 2009 AND WERE GONA CAUSE A SCENE AT MY JOB THE NEXT DAY IF I DIDNT PAY THEM? I NEVER BOROWED THAT MONEY AND I DOUBLED CKED W/ THE BANK AND NO DEPOSIT WAS EVER MADE ITS AN ACCOUNT I NEVER USE SO IT WAS EASY FOR THEM TO CK FOR ME I DID REPORT THEM AS WELL. BUT WILL PROB REPORT TO POLICE SINCE THY CONT TO CALL AND I C THIS AS A THREAT SINCE THEY DID MENTION TO CAUSE A SCENE AT MY JOB?? THAT HARASMNT

Have been receiving phone calls from officer Adam Taylor, John Smith, and other names to many to keep up with.  This has been going on for over 2 months they have been harassing me, calling my job being rude to all my co-workers calling about 30 times in 5 minutes so I think there is more than one person in on this scam.  They also threatened to have me arrested telling me I had four charges of fraud against me but never told me what I owed or an amount, but yesterday they went over board now they are offering money for sexual favors and claimed to be bin laden.  So be careful with these ignorant people do not give any information just hang up and report them to the FTC and to your local police department.  I reported them to the FTC and to my local police department and they actually called the number said it's a cell phone number and the person that answered said he uses it for his business I havent received any calls since then.

just received the 6th call today  from 410-864-0402.  I didn't identify myself but he sure wanted to know if I was family or friend.  I told him that was not important.  Reported them to the Attorney General and the FTC.  Now we will see if he calls again. This gets really sick after awhile.  Now I just won't answer any calls from that number.

You also can't be arrested for owing a debt.  You can be sued, but not arrested.

received a call again ....this same thing happened last week.......this time is is Officer David Brown and Officer Adam Taylor....right .....they are officers ......NO WAY ....they are so rude .....claiming to arrest me tomorrow.....called the police dept again and also attorney generals office....both aware of these scams but nothing they can do without  a name of company or address.......

again said i would be arrested.....looks like i am going to get more of these calls until they once and for all catch these people and put them behind bars where they belong.

I received a call from a John Matthews, say he's with d federal crime department of law enforcement n that I owe a payday loan of $300 to money cash advance. I asked him when did I get this loan, n he said n 2010. So, I asked him for d month n he stated it was against their policy to tell me d month n that I need my lawyer to call for that information. I checked my bank statements for 2010 n there was no deposits made from this so called loan company. I called back to tell them n d guy got upset. So, ur trying to tell me u didn't apply for d loan, when I have all ur information that proved u did. I told him that it was fraud n he told me I was still liable for this. He went on n on n didn't want me to get a word in. I just told him I will call him back. I called d ftc n reported d number n they told me that they can't arrest me n to tell them that according to d fair debt collection practices act, I need a notice of collection before I pay anything. He was telling me d money had to be paid today all at once with no payment plan when I told him I didn't have it he placed me on hold to speak with someone with higher authority when he returned he said sorry I'm hanging up now we can not help u n I wish u best of luck. So I asked him u just going to hang up on me after calling all day what kind of business person hangs up on their clients.  The entire conversation was hilarious.

Man w/ broken english called JOHN MATTHEWS says he works with law enforcement Federal Bureau Department. Said there were legal allegations made against me and my social security. So called, I owed money to MONEY CASH ADVANCE and that they were gonna arrest me within the next 72 hours if i didn't pay them back. WHY THE HELL IS THIS MAN CALLING ME IF I SO CALLED OWE MONEY TO SOMETHING HE'S NOT AFFILIATED WITH? read me a freakin' FAKE A** affidavant too and whatnot. asked him for information regarding Money Cash Advance. He referred to it as CYPERCRIME but couldn't even give me a website address. I asked to speak with his superiors. He refused. Asked him why, if he was so LEGIT, is he calling me from a number listed as SCAM. He couldn't tell me why, but insisted that he was legit. Threatened me again, saying "Remember my words. Because I have already warned you, but they will see you on Monday." Cursed him out and he hung up on me. Reported him to Federal Trade Commissions and then called them back. This time, I spoke to someone who answered the phone.
I asked the man, "I'm sorry, but what's the name of this place again?"
He says, "It's a local home."
Me: "Wait. WHAT?"
He stutters, "Uh uh umm. Uh Federal Bureau Department."
HAHAHHAAHAHA! I told him that I just reported them to the FTC and they were gonna go down for trying to mess people like me over. And that this so called John Matthews is definitely included. The man was trying to talk over me to fill-in for his mistake, but i kept talking louder and louder over him, then all of a sudden said in a SWEET SWEET voice, "Thank you!" and hang up. They haven't bothered me since!

report them to ftc and i called local police department and they checked up on them. don't give out any information! total scam. ignore any future threats.

got same call today from a henry scott. said i defaulted on a cash advance loan from 2 years ago. said i was going to be arrested at my home or work @ 11:00 am on Friday. they knew my last four digits of social, home address, mother-in-laws name and place of work. he had very bad english, i asked to speak to someone else and he refused. called local police department. they checked into this and said it was a scam and don't give out any info! there is no department of crime prevention. said he thinks they are located overseas and using internet to make calls. be aware and report them! total scam!!!

Just got the same phone call from an Officer Michael Joseph. He told me to call him off the record and had the last for digits of my social security number. They called from the Federal Crime Trade. Very broken English. Hard to understand. Left a message and told me to have a blessed day. Ugh! Reported to the FTC right away.

Same thing happened to me today for the first time.  Luckily, I keep up with the scams and tried my hardest to be as sarcastic as possible and make as many foreign jabs at Officer Adam Taylor from the middle east.  Okay Officer Habib.  The number they called me from is 410-864-0402.


VERY IMPORTANT:  If you havent already done so, you MUST call the FTC and report as much info as you can give them, especially the phone numer.  They will also give you numbers to call to see about identity theft and such.  I wouldnt have been worried so much but this guy new my full name, address, social security numer, date of birth and so on.  Only bad can come from people like this having my social security number.  Oh yeah, they also had my bank name and account number so you may want to notify your bank to be on the look out for weird transaction.

got a call from this number stating, that he is a federal police officer, with charges against a david (didnt even give last name of this david guy) will save recording it is real fishy. he had really bad broken english, I cant stress how bad it was he went on to say there was three current charges against this guy
and needed him to call I tried to call the number back to inform that they had the wrong number but got a recording saying this number is not in service. so am reporting to anybody i can about this number must be a scam
