I get 2 to 3 calls per day from 410 997 4293. Can't reporting them help?

just received a call from this number. .I answered the phone very softly. ..that was the computer doesn't hear me ....so I just hang up. .

-tributed to there fire station actually did,then they wouldn't need to hire fundraisers. Sad truth is that a great number of people are cheap and will use any excuse they can to not support wonderful life saving programs.

They are not "scammers",they are paid professional fundraisers. They are hired by the Baltimore county and Anne Arundel county(amongst many other) fire fighters to raise funds for non-tax supported ,community oriented programs.The fact that they hang up or call back after you ask them not to is simple human/computer errors mostly as these places field thousands of calls a day,mistakes do happen.I can also verify that while these people often speak very quick,they do clearly state in every call opener that they are not firefighters. I have gotten four or five calls a day for approximately a week, and yes, this does seem to happen about once a quarter, maybe once every two months.  Good to have an I.D. for the Baltimore County Firefighters Association for the latest round of calls, since I live in a different county.  If I was going to make a donation, it would be to my local firefighter's association, not the one for Baltimore County.  Since this caller seems to represent various groups, I'm guessing that a few years ago, some police and firefighter associations began contracting out to a marketing service who is making robocalls on their behalf.

I got a message from them on my answering machine today that was, and I quote in full exactly, "...hello?...hello? *click*"
Ridiculous considering he had to have just listened to our answering machine message, which means that no-one is home to say "hello" to... I'm glad I *69'd the call, it was so weird.

I don't know if they're legit or not, but if it is the Baltimore County PFFA I think they've called me before; the guy started going into his spiel and I was just going to let him talk (seemed rude to cut him off) and in the middle of what he was saying all of a sudden he shouted "HELLO? HELLO?" at me and hung up before I could even say that I was still there. Incredibly rude. (I wonder if it was the same guy.)

Am Quite sure that this caller is from the Baltimore County Firefighters Association.
We get this call on both  house and cell phones. It used to come over the caller ID as BCFFA,
Then as BCFA and most recently as BA before going to this "Maryland USA" Identifier.
We have repeatedly asked them to not call, yet they call at least once a quarter, ignoring our requests.
The firefighters (at least the BCFA) DO call to solicit money under different excuses like tickets to their events. They have called the cell phone 7 days straight.

They call me every day.  I have picked up and they hang up. When I attempt to call back I get the recording that  they're on the phone.  I am really getting tired of this.

Its the baltimore COUNTY firefighters..its the whole county. They called my cell phone to, they were nice even though i didnt donate.

I get called several times a week in the evenings after 5pm from this number...when I do answer, it's always a "local fire department" looking for money. It sounds highly suspicious as they never identify which fire dept. they are with. Our local VFD calls twice a year- once around Easter when they're trying to set up the Easter photos for money and once around Christmas when they want money and Santa Toy donations...and they always identify themselves by name and say they're with the LVFD and they only ever call on the house line. This scam-number calls only on my cell phone and I do not trust them. I have notified verizon to get their number blocked.

I actually dont mind the calls from these guys. Its the baltimore county PFFA. Ill give to both my local and professional. Keep in mind people, without the professional guys we wouldnt have our EMTs. I dont understand what all the bickering is about.

Really?  It looks like you need a course correction? It's a scam period!

Has nothing to do with Verizon other than someone is using their network and a mobile carrier to blast anyone and everyone.

Just block them or if you are bored screw with them!

Pest claiming to be Firedepartment looking for donation

Got the same calls. The other number they use is: 410-997-2259.
Caller ID says either, out of area, or wireless caller.

Call your fire department they don't call the public for money. Just a tel-marketer getting your money. Last month same number was looking for money for police and this time Fire Fighters.

Tel-Marketing this time it was firefighter and last month was the police. The same number. The firefighters don't call the pubic for money. Call any fire department.

Yes, it's someone saying they are Baltimore County Fire Dept.  My wife made the mistake of donating a few dollars to them last year.  I told her why we should never ever give money to anyone but our local fire department -- and make certain where the funds are going.  

They continue calling, but they always ask for her without stating who they are. Then they claim their notes say nothing about being asked not to call back -- even though they know I'm hostile to them.

Says they are Baltimore fire department asking for a donation.

Verizon is the culprit. Once your bill is near due they call you and send you millions of calls.

They called me twice today.  I told them to remove my number and not call back.  They called back again a few hours later.  I blocked the number.

They called me and did not leave a message. When I called them back I received a voicemail that said "the person is on the phone and leave a message then press #." I immediately hung up. Sounds like a scam or phishing sceme.
